I bought my Xperia mini here in Saudi, but unfortunately I cannot see the Market Icon on the main screen. I tried googling and they said that I might need to change the region of my phone. How do I do that? Also, I can send pictures via bluetooth but I cannot receive any files nor pictures from them. They can detect the name of my phone but they are unable to establish connection to my phone.

I have another doubt on how to install the apps. As my handset is missing the Android Market icon in my mobile. So I downloaded to my pc and then copied to my mobile. This "7c02815a-e245-102d-a194-6ec07c99d928.apk" file for bluetooth file transfer and using data cable. I copied that file in my video folder (for self knowing folder I pasted) now I don't see that file in my mobile video folder. So how will I install? There are no icons like "Android Market", "Installer Application", or "Application Installer" etc. I am using Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro and 1.6 firmware.
View 7 Replies View RelatedChecking out media players, I downloaded Zimly and Mixzing (thanks suze!) to compare. Both installed instantly but only Zimly appeared as an icon on the home screen. When I go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications they are both listed as installed, however I need to have Mixzing drop its icon for me to be able to use it from reviews etc I actually think that's the one I'll be keeping anyway, a clear case of sod's Law that of the two that one would be the one with a problem! I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, same result.

I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing.

It has a problem that every few days or so the screen locks up and becomes unresponsive and the only way to reset it is to do a battery pull. My question basically is should I take it back to the shop, or is it likely to need to have android reinstalled or something?
It did this on the very first startup after unboxing, it froze up when choosing the language setting, so obviously it is unrelated to any other apps i have installed. At the time I didnt think it was too much of a problem but then as I say, it started doing it every few days.
I'm having trouble modifying the main screen.
At the moment it shows the Sony Ericsson logo, and 4 "Apps".
How do i change that Logo, and Change my choice of Apps on the main screen?
I have been using my hotmail account on my phone since August, suddenly yesterday I can no longer even get the sign in page to open, I get the closed padlock icon up. The internet is working on the phone and my account is fine on my PC.

When the "Data Traffic" arrow is selected in the Mobile network settings the icon disappears from the toolbar at the top, but when it is not selected the icon appears. I have cleared the cache and uninstalled market updates and I am currently on 2.1v of android market.
I am a Singaporean and I fly to Dubai often for business. Couple of days back I picked up the Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro at the Dubai Duty Free only to realise after I come home that there is no Android Market application installed on the phone! This is absolutely ridicious, why would I buy an android phone if I cannot access the marketplace? Also if this is the case, it should be clearly highlighted and not sold in places like duty free where you have visitors/travellers and not always the residents of that particular country purchasing the mobiles.

I basically got ride of a code reader, some stupid games, and a bunch of "trial version" applications. I just noticed now that I can't download apps from the Android Market anymore, and this is probably what caused it. Everything else on my phone still works perfectly. When I try to download an app from the Android Market, I select the app to be downloaded, press "Install", then press "OK" when it gives me the list of what the app has access to. Once I press "OK" a popup appears that says "Your Item Will be Downloaded". That's it. Nothing appears in the notification bar, and the download doesn't go at all. So I guess my question is. what would I have deleted to cause this problem? I unrooted my phone again since. Maybe a google app or something? And if so, I need the APK for it! Yeah, yeah I was an idiot, I know. Don't mention it. Here's what I've tried so far after searching this issue: - Cleared the cache and updates for all Google-related apps

For some reason, every time I open Android Market, it tells me I have to turn on data services, even if I'm connected already to wifi, and then it keeps interrupting because of the poor 3G connection. Is there any way to force this application to use wifi? I have no problem with other applications.
