Has anybody managed to get GPS working consistently after flashing Villain? I managed to get a fix on my location once and that's it. I have updated to the latest radio, and I have been trying it outside.

View 49 Replies View Relatedall the normal wallpapers work as do my own photos but i cannot get live ones to work, ive upgraded to 5.4 they didnt work on there either(nor did friend stream) and now ive gone back to 5.3 as i prefered it.(and friend stream does!
View 3 Replies View Relatedi installed this rom earlier and started of loving it and then messenger force closed and again and again so i then ended all programs using auto killer and went back in to messanger and it worked for long enough to send a txt and then failed again. the application messages(process com.android.mms) has stoped working unexpectedly.please try again
View 25 Replies View Relatedafter nearly a month of trying to get it, i finally got it and have been using it for about a week , i have overclocked / underclocked and cant notice any speed difference i have it set at 294/701, is there anything else thats will get some kinda improvement out of this because as far as i can tell i have not notiiced no difference between this and 3's stock ROM Prt from the phone takes longer to boot and what features should i be using to get its full worth

View 2 Replies View RelatedI followed the guide to the letter (gold carded) and received the Network locked screen after installing the HTC ROM ending 405.5 and receiving the updates for 2.1. By the way my Hero is Orange branded with Orange SIM and the product number is 99HHM022-00. Apart from waiting for Orange to release the update, whats my options? Read through numerous threads, but I'm confused whether an unlock code would work or whether its just better to bite the bullet and go for a Villain ROM that allows apps to install to SD cards. IF I was to go for a Villian ROM would that contain a compatible radio for my Orange phone, and would the Villain ROM work on my Orange branded Hero by just following their guide? I dont really want to have to wipe my phone again if its not going to work, so was just asking you guys for advice?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo apart from being a great rom (scored 4.75 on linkpack) this ROM has some really nasty issues that i can't stand them. I'm just starting this thread to make sure is not just me. If it's me, I will reflash. But if you guys have the same issues, we should try to add bugs we found, and then make a shout to the villain team.
- when the screen timeout is set at 15 and the screen goes black, imediatelly, click on home. You will make the phone alive without the lockscreen.
- when in navigator (loading your location please wait) and the screen goes idle, and you go back, the navigator is going in the background...................
I'm relatively new to the rooting lark but I've managed to get Villain 5.2 up and running. However I can't seem to get Apps2SD working with it. I've partitioned the SD card and changed Ext2 to Ext3, but when I run Apps2SD it tells me there's a problem and I should check out the tutorial (which links to a deleted thread)...
Anyone used Villain 5.2 with Apps2SD who can help?
I have to say, it is the fastest most responsive ROM I have tried yet! Thought I'd share my thoughts. It's a GSM based ROM, so, view/hide/import contacts from sim is there. APN's work easily. It has only 5 home screens, but I don't use all 7 on Sense UI roms. (EDIT) Just found a setting to expand to 7 homescreens. Maximum MMS size is only 300K, as opposed to 600K. Thought that was odd. Would be cool if he could change that. The themes are pretty cool, nothing too ridiculously awesome, but hey, it's cool lol. Seems to like to hang when messing with themes though, but it's only beta so far.
Only thing I don't really like so far, are all the "t-mobile'ized" icons.. (a lot of icons have pink in them, like tmobile's logo lol). And also, all icons have bubbles around them... not a big deal in the app drawer but just not a huge fan of bubbles all over my homescreen
What would people's favorite ROM be? MoDaCo or Villain? I recently rooted my HTC Hero and installed Villain 5.4 on it. However, I've noticed the battery drains quicker than previous Android 1.5 that was on it. I've changed to "GSM only" in phone settings (*#*#INFO#*#*) and also have changed some settings with regard to display timeout etc etc.
View 18 Replies View Relatedi am currently using sense 2.2 rom with a 16gb microsdhc card. i tried to flash the new villain 10.1 rom yesterday but afterwards it just kept looping the white htc "quietly brilliant" page. i left this going on for an hour to see if it just needed some time to install. i think the reason may be because i just used the same partitioned microsdhc card. it has already been set up for a2sd and worked perfectly with my sense 2.2 rom. do i need to reformat the card and repartition it again? i am using Amon Ra recovery 1.6.2 to flash my roms. i have flashed the latest radio update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06OU_6.35.15.01-signed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I make a Nandroid+EXT and a BART backup, wipe and then install Villain (or any other 2.1 ROM) is it completely roll backable by wiping and restoring either the Nandroid+EXT or the BART? The wipe affects nothing? Also, if I decide I like it, can I perform an EXT restore only and maintain my App2SD?

View 6 Replies View RelatedDon't know if it's just me, but I do not seem to be able to turn off the touch/haptic feedback for the keyboard since flashing this system. Using the old 'turn it off' option has no effect. Has anyone else had this happen? I was just thinking it might speed the keyboard up a little if I could turn it off (and may help save a tiny bit of battery too).

I can send them as much as I want, theres just an issue with sending. I get an error stating that the message failed to download. I am guessing I may need to reflash.

I went to do hers as well and when I get into the main menu the trackball doesn't scroll up or down. It works fine when the phone is in operating mode. She is running CELBfroyo. Any suggestions? View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an app that uses quite a few graphics in it. When I open and close my app repeatedly on my emulator (1.5 - 2.2) it runs fine and by checking the heap I can see everything is being cleaned and gc'd properly. However, when I run my app on an HTC Aria phone (2.1) the app crashes every time I try to re-open it. When I look at the heap I can see that objects are NOT being cleaned up like they are in the emulator. Does anyone know why this behavior could be happening? I did try it on another HTC Aria (a friends) and it crashed the same way as on my phone so I think it's not just isolated to my particular phone. Any thoughts or ideas would be really appreciated on why things are cleaning up properly on the emulator, but not on my phone. One thing to note, is that I DID have it working and gc'ing fine on my phone a few days ago and I didn't change much and now it's not working on my phone so it's a bit of a mystery to me.

His application list is here: Kevdog83's Apps on the PC36100 When he checks "Battery Use", Android System is consistently 85-90% of usage, while Cell Standby and Phone Idle are typically the two biggest items for my usage. What runs under the umbrella of "Android System" that may be killing his battery?
