Updated radio via villian updater , now phone is saying network locked and wants a unlock pin , i am on orange and have never set a unlock pin! any ideas what to do next?

I put modoco's 2.1 custom ROM on my phone and when I booted up my my phone it came up with the message SIM network Unlock Pin, so far I've contacted Orange and they refuse to help me unless I pay them 170 and they say its something wrong with the phone.
View 3 Replies View Relatedafter nearly a month of trying to get it, i finally got it and have been using it for about a week , i have overclocked / underclocked and cant notice any speed difference i have it set at 294/701, is there anything else thats will get some kinda improvement out of this because as far as i can tell i have not notiiced no difference between this and 3's stock ROM Prt from the phone takes longer to boot and what features should i be using to get its full worth

View 2 Replies View RelatedI followed the guide to the letter (gold carded) and received the Network locked screen after installing the HTC ROM ending 405.5 and receiving the updates for 2.1. By the way my Hero is Orange branded with Orange SIM and the product number is 99HHM022-00. Apart from waiting for Orange to release the update, whats my options? Read through numerous threads, but I'm confused whether an unlock code would work or whether its just better to bite the bullet and go for a Villain ROM that allows apps to install to SD cards. IF I was to go for a Villian ROM would that contain a compatible radio for my Orange phone, and would the Villain ROM work on my Orange branded Hero by just following their guide? I dont really want to have to wipe my phone again if its not going to work, so was just asking you guys for advice?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to 2.1 with VillainRom. The included updater doesn't seem to work. Like the experimental batter fix update. I check for updates, choose the batter update, hit apply and it boots into recovery, does something for 10 seconds and restarts. After checking for updates again, it reappears. Has it installed right?

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo apart from being a great rom (scored 4.75 on linkpack) this ROM has some really nasty issues that i can't stand them. I'm just starting this thread to make sure is not just me. If it's me, I will reflash. But if you guys have the same issues, we should try to add bugs we found, and then make a shout to the villain team.
- when the screen timeout is set at 15 and the screen goes black, imediatelly, click on home. You will make the phone alive without the lockscreen.
- when in navigator (loading your location please wait) and the screen goes idle, and you go back, the navigator is going in the background...................
I'm relatively new to the rooting lark but I've managed to get Villain 5.2 up and running. However I can't seem to get Apps2SD working with it. I've partitioned the SD card and changed Ext2 to Ext3, but when I run Apps2SD it tells me there's a problem and I should check out the tutorial (which links to a deleted thread)...
Anyone used Villain 5.2 with Apps2SD who can help?
I have to say, it is the fastest most responsive ROM I have tried yet! Thought I'd share my thoughts. It's a GSM based ROM, so, view/hide/import contacts from sim is there. APN's work easily. It has only 5 home screens, but I don't use all 7 on Sense UI roms. (EDIT) Just found a setting to expand to 7 homescreens. Maximum MMS size is only 300K, as opposed to 600K. Thought that was odd. Would be cool if he could change that. The themes are pretty cool, nothing too ridiculously awesome, but hey, it's cool lol. Seems to like to hang when messing with themes though, but it's only beta so far.
Only thing I don't really like so far, are all the "t-mobile'ized" icons.. (a lot of icons have pink in them, like tmobile's logo lol). And also, all icons have bubbles around them... not a big deal in the app drawer but just not a huge fan of bubbles all over my homescreen
What would people's favorite ROM be? MoDaCo or Villain? I recently rooted my HTC Hero and installed Villain 5.4 on it. However, I've noticed the battery drains quicker than previous Android 1.5 that was on it. I've changed to "GSM only" in phone settings (*#*#INFO#*#*) and also have changed some settings with regard to display timeout etc etc.
View 18 Replies View Relatedi am currently using sense 2.2 rom with a 16gb microsdhc card. i tried to flash the new villain 10.1 rom yesterday but afterwards it just kept looping the white htc "quietly brilliant" page. i left this going on for an hour to see if it just needed some time to install. i think the reason may be because i just used the same partitioned microsdhc card. it has already been set up for a2sd and worked perfectly with my sense 2.2 rom. do i need to reformat the card and repartition it again? i am using Amon Ra recovery 1.6.2 to flash my roms. i have flashed the latest radio update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06OU_6.35.15.01-signed.

After trying out another ROM which is VillainROM. I am getting this damn error each time my phone loads up, then it gives me a option to wait or close. This is why I always seem to regret trying out any villain ROMs. Always some errors that creep up & folks say they are stable. Is their a way to correct this? Maybe I should try sence build 5. Cause sence 2.2 was good but I wanted to try the new villain.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I make a Nandroid+EXT and a BART backup, wipe and then install Villain (or any other 2.1 ROM) is it completely roll backable by wiping and restoring either the Nandroid+EXT or the BART? The wipe affects nothing? Also, if I decide I like it, can I perform an EXT restore only and maintain my App2SD?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm using Villain5.2 and I see that Villain5.3 is out. I'd like to use Villain5.3 but I'm not sure if I have to re-install all of my apps again. Can I just flash 5.3 over the top of 5.2 and thats all I have to do, or is there more to it? Will I need to "wipe"?

Using the old 'turn it off' option has no effect. Has anyone else had this happen? I was just thinking it might speed the keyboard up a little if I could turn it off (and may help save a tiny bit of battery too).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a standard USA CDMA Razr Maxx, running GB 2.3.6. I moved to the bahamas before the ICS was available. I cancelled my Verizon service on my phone.
I tried to run the ICS update, but it failed (maybe due to my phone being rooted, or possibly because I have no carrier service).
I rooted my phone to unlock the WiFi feature back on the US, so I could use the 4G LTE superfast download speeds without having to pay for the WiFi feature from Verizon. So I've been in the root directory. I know there are tons of things you can manipulate. And I know that the ICS update unlocked the GSM radio.
My question is: Can I go into the root directory (using SQLite Editor) and unlock the GSM radio feature myself? Or do I have to update to ICS?

I bought my HTC Desire from T-Mobile Montenegro with prepaid SIM. After i leave the Montenegro i change to my Orange card, and get the "SIM network unlock PIN" message. I purchased the unlock code from globalunlock.com - Global Unlock - The Official Mobile Phone Unlocking Site. After i inserted the code i get the "Invalid Password" message. (By the way the company have no support, no refund, nothing, don't buy from them) I was wonder if there will be some suggestions how to solve this problem?
