HTC Hero :: Texts At Bottom Of Lock Screen
Dec 8, 2009Is there anyway to not have new texts show up at the bottom of the lock screen? It pretty much defeats the purpose of having the phone locked doesn't it?

Jun 7, 2010Even when my security lock is enabled and I hit the menu key to check the time for example, new sms messages can be seen at the bottom of the screen. Does anyone know how to disable sms from displaying?

Aug 14, 2010I ordered the Droid 2 from VerizonWireless off their site received the phone and noticed that when I go to the lock screen .Examples: "you have stolen this phone and it must be returned. You have been reported to Verizon and if not returned we will find you...because there's an app for that."captain"."This phone is owned by "random name" call "number" to return immediately.(I have called a couple of these and they are legit with the name and number)Currently it is displaying "This phone belongs to Inah Me (phone number) if lost please call (phone number) called tech support and they said that in 30 years of support they've never seen anything like it. We reset the phone back to stock default uninstalling everything on the phone.

Oct 10, 2010I returned my HTC hero after a week because it had a dead pixel, but I also noticed dust under the lower portion of the screen right above the buttons on bottom. I use a otterbox commuter case while has covers for the dock and head phone jack, so Im assuming the dust came in between the buttons and the bottom of the screen.

Oct 31, 2009So last night I was riding in the car using my hero. All of a sudden 2 lines appeared across the screen horizontally about 1" up from bottom. Can't fix it. Tried a hard reset to factory and still there. Any suggestions? I am traveling in Chicago today so will find a sprint store for exchange. I have TEP. But at 2 days old should it just be swapped for a new one and not affect TEP?

Dec 7, 2009I hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

Sep 20, 20091) I can press a button to 'wake' up the phone to the lock screen, but I may have to press a button 2 or 3 times to wake the phone up. it seems like it's not waking up correctly and on the first button press.
2) Twitter and other notifications 'sometimes' dont happen until I unlock the screen...this COULD be coincidence, but I thought I would throw it out for people.
3) I didnt get a voicemail given on Friday until today, which appeared as a result of me switching off my phone and switching it back on. has anyone else heard of this???
4) I cant figure out a way to stop apps from starting on bootup, such as peep? I use twidroid, so dont need two apps running of the same ilk?? Any help here?

HTC Hero :: 2.1 Update - No Longer Able To Lock Screen
Aug 30, 2010Last week I received the 2.1 update on the HTC Hero. I love it, BUT, i can no longer force lock my screen. Previously I could press the 'power/end call' button once to lock my phone. I can't do this any more. Is anyone else experiencing this? My only option currently, is to let my screen time out (set to 15 secs) and then my phone locks itself, but I cannot force this manually. It's rather frustrating - a lot goes on in my pockets in 15 seconds!
