HTC Hero :: Screen Will Not Slide Lock Sometimes
Jun 5, 2010For some reason my screen will not slide lock sometimes. The only way to get it back is to restart my phone. Did I turn something on or off that would do this?

He told me the password and I can use it to wake the phone up just fine but I use the slide screen, but now there is both password unlock and the slide screens. Sep 22, 2010I had the slide lock/accidental touch lock disabled in 2.1 bone stock phone. Got the 2.2 OTA. Installed without issue and has addressed many of my previous complaints (VPN, WiFi, speaker volume). Under settings / location&security, in the security section, I see only two options 'set up screen lock' (pattern/pin/password) and 'security lock timer'. Where is the option to turn on the slide lock? VZW support was completely clueless, as I have (sadly) come to expect. They transferred me to Motorola support, who says there should be a 3rd option there for the screen lock.

Jan 14, 2010I got my phone back late oct, and i use it unrooted, all the time, I can make calls very simply. with minor lag here and there. But anytime my phone is asleep, and i try to answer any incoming call, either Google voice or direct, I can't slide the screen to answer. and none of the buttons do anything and the call goes missed.
it's really annoying. my wife has the same phone and hers eloquently answers calls. after a few moments, the display changes to show the call is missed. and i can operate the phone again - usually with the dismay of having to call the person back, at the same time while they are leaving voicemail - NOT being able to answer the phone when it rings is really kinda a critical problem for me. Anyone familiar with this issue, and would like to take a stab at helping me fix it. I'm willing to wipe and restore to defaults just to make it work right.

Dec 7, 2009I hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

Dec 3, 2009I never use my physical keyboard. I would like a slim case to protect my phone and i don't care if the KB doesn't slide out at all. i would actually prefer it stay closed. Hard plastic or a soft silicone is ok with me. i have the soft rubber case around my work BB and it works perfect. I would love something like that for my droid. And i want one that doesn't raise too much over the screen. a coworker has a hard case for his iphone and it makes it hard to hit the touch screen on the borders. the case sits so high you have to put your finger or thumb almost verticle to touch the on screen keyboard.

Sep 20, 20091) I can press a button to 'wake' up the phone to the lock screen, but I may have to press a button 2 or 3 times to wake the phone up. it seems like it's not waking up correctly and on the first button press.
2) Twitter and other notifications 'sometimes' dont happen until I unlock the screen...this COULD be coincidence, but I thought I would throw it out for people.
3) I didnt get a voicemail given on Friday until today, which appeared as a result of me switching off my phone and switching it back on. has anyone else heard of this???
4) I cant figure out a way to stop apps from starting on bootup, such as peep? I use twidroid, so dont need two apps running of the same ilk?? Any help here?
