I hot major WiFi trouble, connects to belkin n routes for ten seconds then says no connection, after three phones orange says it router, I am well annoyed with the whole situation and orange are saying that view have no other calls or problems with the hero, seems strange as it hot topic here.

I have been having a problem with my HTC One phone since I got it. My 4G connection will stay connected for about 30 seconds to a minute, and then it will revert back to 3G. I have already looked this up before and I have done the following:
-Changing my network mode setting to "LTE/CDMA", and then restarting the phone
-Making sure all recent updates have been installed
-Making sure my plan was actually eligible to connect to 4G (it is)
-Making sure there is 4G coverage in my area (again, it is)
-Always leaving "Automatic Connections" on
I just got my Droid X two days ago and absolutely love it but it is having major wi-fi issues. It will connect, show me in every possible way that is connected but will not let me use the connection, e.g., browse the web, market store or any other type of internet/intranet connectivity. Is there any fix for this? Is it a software issue or hardware issue? Should I wait for the updates from Motorola or should I (and really don't want to) return it for another Droid X? If returning/exchaning it is my only option is there a way to backup all the apps/settings for my phone since I spent a lot of time customizing it already?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Desire (UK) has been find ever I had it, no issues whatsoever. Recently updated the Android software and ever since then I can only access the web/market etc when connected through wifi.
My signal bar simply shows bars whereas in the past it had either a G, 3G or H next to it, and I'm guessing this is linked into the problem.
I have just upgraded to Android 2.1 on Orange(UK). When I connect to WiFi (home WEP and open), it says I am connected - shows IP address etc., but nothing actually works through the WiFi - can't sync Exchange email, can't download from market, won't even update location on Google Maps. If I switch WiFi off everything works fine over mobile network, but that is unsustainable due to data charges.

But I switch on the mobile network + WiFi at the same time, its work fine for everything included Browser. But after restart my HERO, I can switch on the WiFi without switch on the mobile network and no problem at all, but after using mobile network, problem is coming to me again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of getting a HTC Hero. I am not well up on smart phones. I do like the iPhone but that seem way too expensive compared to the deal I can get on the Hero. On Google Maps, the manual says the phone needs connected toi wifi oir gprs for GM to work. I am going on holiday and dont want to use a huge amount of GPRS in case the bill starts to mount up for international usage. Can the maps for the area I am going to be cached on the phone in some way?
The other question I have is - can the phone be used as a GPS tracker. Say, recording my location every 10 seconds. Then downloading this to my PC and Google Maps when I get home so i can trace wherev I have been. On comparisons between the Hero and iPhone - this is nearly like a religious debate. Is the Hero a fair match for the iPhone.
Says I am connected to wifi but it doesn't work...anybody else have this problem or know how to fix it?

View 10 Replies View Relatediv just got a replacement hero and i cant get it to connet to my bt home hub, my last one did no problems but when i try with my new one it just comes back as unsuccessful, it does seem to connect to bt openzone tho if that helps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere appears to be an issue with my Hero-router WiFi connection. Has anyone had similar experiences or have any advice? My Hero can generally see my home wireless router and report a good signal, though the visibility can drop out (when my other devices are still happily connected). It can also see my neighbors' networks, so it isn't a range issue.
For the most part, the Hero just doesn't seem to want to connect. If I reboot the router it will connect briefly for a couple of secs. I've tried altering a few of the router broadcast settings, trying b-only/ g-only/ b+g, but this hasn't helped (n isn't available, but I understand the Hero to be g anyway). I haven't yet been to another WiFi area, to check if it will connect to other networks. My suspicion is it is a specific compatibility issue with my router (Zoom).
My WiFi drops connection all the time which seems to be a common problem for many Hero users. I've found the 'Wifi Fixer' application helps a little bit. You can download it for free from Market. It tries to reconnect your WiFi in the background everytime it drops.

I have not changed any of my router settings/phone settings, so this is strange. I have tried deleting link and re inputting key (this worked once, but now no longer works)
My router is on the recommended WPA-2 setting, and is regarded as a friendly router for the Hero (Netgear 834dg)
I've been having a problem for the last few hours where my Hero refuses to download anything without a WiFi connection. I've been messing with it and it seems like my mobile network isn't connecting correctly. I had to power down the phone earlier because it froze to black screen and I couldn't escape out of it and ever since then its been problematic. My Mobile network icon says "standby for connecting to mobile network" I'm not sure if thats bad or good, never actually looked at it. Any help or am I gonna want to do a factory reset?

When mobile network is off and WiFi is enabled, I cannot retrieve my Yahoo Mail. It has never really bothered me, because when mobile network is connected and WiFi is off, my mail app (which is connected to Yahoo - I don't use Gmail) worked perfectly fine. Does anybody else use Yahoo as their email server and has the same issue? Is it just Google sticking it to their customers and to Yahoo by saying "ok, if you wan't to use our (#1 competitor's) email service, then we will make it so it will only work on Mobile Networks.

Also, either way, when I unlock the screen and go into wifi settings, I see that the phone is trying to make a wifi connection, but it never succeeds, even though it's my home network and I'm in the same room as the router. WiFi sees the network, says "Connecting", comes up "Failed to connect", "Scanning" and loops on that sequence. I know the router's working because this laptop is using it right now
I just connect my evo with my home network, and it finds network ok and everyting. I even see 4 WiFi signal bars on my evo screen, but no Internet connection. I am using my laptop through that WiFi now without any issue. I am using netgear WGR614 g/bwireless router.

I am trying to create an ethical application so users will not be charged when they become disconnected from WiFi without them noticing. Any existing source/documentation on how to do this.
I wanted to give Android a try after having an iPhone for about 4 years now (1st generation iPhone). I decided to go with a used "China" phone - Hero h300 because I didn't want to splurge and find out that Android wasn't for me. So far I do like it but I am running version 2.2.1 (Froyo) and am having an issue with the WiFi connection. I'll initially connect and after a random span of time it will start failing to load pages when browsing or the market will report that there was an error (or lost connection) even though the phone still shows a WiFi connection.
I do not have a data plan and am using WiFi for connection and have setup the phone to use the WiFi instead of Sim data connection. I use WPA/WPA2 PSK security for the wireless network. If I turn off WiFi and turn it back on (on the phone), it will reconnect and work for a while but the problem comes back. So while I "surf" the internet or Market, I have to constantly turn the WiFi on and off.
What can I check or try to resolve this issue? I actually had bought this phone because the iPhone's WiFi was going loopy (it would just scan and scan and scan and never find any networks - even if it was literally sitting next to the wireless router) - so it's kind of ironic that the main problem I have with this phone turns out to be it's WiFi
I just flashed to jelly bean 4.1.1 on my verizon GS3. I can't get wifi to stay connected. It continuously rotates between "Authenticating", and "Saved, Secured". Eventually it gives up and just says "Disconnected".
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X running Gingerbread, and there is one particular WiFi spot that seems to hate me. It's a WiFi router owned by a friend of mine, WPA encrypted. I have the SSID and the password, I can connect to the router. And my network icon turns blue indicating that I have a connection to the Google services. But I can't browse the web, I cannot send/receive email and I cannot use any other app that uses data. Another friend with an iPhone has no problems. My iPod Touch has no problems, but the stuff I want to use is on the Droid.
Two additional kickers to this: My late and unlamented Blackberry had the same problem His router is the same brand (and I think model) as mine and I have zero problems with mine.
