I have just done a search but cant find anything. Does the htc hero have loud speaker when in a call. I always use loudspeaker on my last phone just wondering if u can on this wonderful phone.

Is there an app or setting that will allow me to switch on the speaker phone when I answer a call when I have my Hero in a holder in my car with out haveing to press the menu button and then speaker. I would like either a button on the screen or a default profile that when I accept a call it will answer straight to load speaker?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife has a Droid2 and when she uses the speaker phone function, things sound fine on her end, but for the caller on the other end, there is an unbearably loud noise of them speaking. For instance, when I call her and she has me on speaker, I can hear myself speaking super loud coming out of her phone. I can't even concentrate to get my sentence out. Has anyone else had this problem or heard of it? She is using a hard snap on case from Verizon as well, not sure if it could be the sound bouncing of that or something?

Now, I took one of those MP3s and set it as my ring tone. I turned the ringtone volume all the way up and when I got a call, it's like half the volume as it played as an MP3.
Why do I lose so much volume? Is there any way to make that louder?
I want to replace my iphone in HTC phone and thought about the legend and i got some questions for the users of that phone cuz its hard to relay on an review without hear real experience by a real HTC user.
1. how is the phone generally?
2. how is the battery cuz in every site is different info
3. how is the loud speaker for talking not music listening
4. and in generally is it worth it or maybe to think to upgrade to desire?
5. and any usefull info will be welcome.
First, whenever I make or receive a call the speaker on message appears and my phone calls all are on speaker. I can't seem to fix that, I looked in settings but can't figure out what happened and how to fix.
Secondly, for some reason when I am in a program and hit the "home" icon my Evo no longer opens the home menu and allows me to go to other programs on my home screen. I am forced to hit the back arrow on the phone which is annoying. So if I am browsing like 10 web pages I have to go back to the first page to the first page I opened of the internet , then it allows me to press the "home" icon. very inconvenient...
Please tell me what I did wrong, i don't recall hitting any buttons to change these settings.
I was just talking to a friend on my phone and for some reason the speaker started to kind of vibrate/buzz like when frquencies match and it makes something vibrate. Is it just that; there's a certain frequency and it matches that of my speaker? Or is it a hardware(?) problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000B from Brazil unlocked from the store. Three days ago I decided to update my system (2.2) to the CM10.0.0 (4.1.2). After much sweat and hassle I discovered how do it properly with the right files. So, I flashed 2.3.3 and then CM10 and it seemed to work properly until I found out my IMEI had been corrupted. I tried the solution I found but it didn't work because on step #5 I don't find the file named ".nv_data", just "nv_data.bin.md5". I tried copying just the other but in the end it doesn't change my IMEI back. I still have a generic IMEI but it is not affecting the signal of my phone, I can still make and receive calls, but I would like to get it properly working. When I flash android 2.2 it restores my IMEI.
Problem 2
My other problem is that I keep getting these really loud and intermittent scratch noises during calls after flashing CM10. Right now I am using a dutch SIM for I live in the netherlands. Maybe that is important to mention. But I had been using android 2.2 here all along with no problems. After CM10 I get these sudden short bursts of noise during my calls. The other person can barely hear it but I hear it loudly.
I did a wipe and clean install for Fresh 2.1.1 and have no speak phone on phone calls. I have nothing from the speaker.Tested it a few times, never works with a phone call.Speaker works for media - MP3 and custom ringers etc.Is the a known issue and or fix for this ?

Apparently, whoever is on the other end can still hear me before I do this, but it is pretty much happening all the time now. Has anyone else experienced this? I googled and looked for some kind of setting, but I have not found a solution yet.

On my second one the sound was much less apparent but it was still kind of there. Its been about a week now and I believe it is now just as bad as the first one I had. I've tried the HTC headphones and my own both used to work fine now even through the little headphones or headphones and mic icon is displayed the music still plays through the loud speaker. View 2 Replies View RelatedI finally changed the voicemail system on my Hero from Sprint's "visual voicemail" (which is misleading because it doesn't transcribe voicemails) to Google Voice. It's nice to see my transcribed voicemails now. However, when I actually want to hear them (if the transcription didn't work well), it only comes through the external speaker; the speaker on the back of the phone. I went into Google Voice settings and under "Voicemail Playback" I tried the only two options: "Play via Handset" and "Play via Speaker." Unfortunately, both play through the speaker phone speaker. How do I change it to the phone speaker? I also can't adjust the volume, so the whole world hears my voicemails through the external speaker.

View 5 Replies View Relatedve been having this issue ever since i flashed to the damageless 2.08 ROM. First off, i absolutely love this 2.1 Rom. It has everything i need in a phone now, but this one problem. Occasionally when i try to use the phone portion of my phone to call somebody, it will not work. By that i mean when i dial a buddys number, it will show that i am in a call with him, but i can not hear any ringing or him on the other side. (He can hear me however). This is a totally random issue, meaning that there isnt a specific time or number this happens when i call, so this makes for an irritating issue.Has anyone else experienced this? if so does anyone know of any fixes or anything?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call everyone is telling me that they are hearing a loud shrill sound but I hear nothing so I went to Verizon to get an exchange since I have the insurance. They checked my phone out and said it should be exchanged but when they tried to exchange it they said there was none in the store and none even at their warehouse and they had no idea when they would get more. I'm wondering if that is because of the new Android phones coming out.
So if I have to get another phone I want to be prepared to make a decision. Any thoughts on another Android phone? I absolutely love my Droid and hope they will be able to get more in so I can exchange mine. But if I can't I would want one just like the Droid as far as a physical keyboard and also I like the amount of memory. And I want the freedom I have with the Droid to install anything I want. It's the first phone Verizon hasn't locked down.
Anyway hopefully I can keep my Droid but as I said I just want some ideas in case they don't get any more Droids in stock. Oh one last question, I was talking to an ex Verizon employee who insisted that the Droid won't accept a 32GB card. Is this correct?
