What is the quality of the DHD speaker, I've heard it's not very loud or clear? I'm upgrading from an iphone 2G which had a terrible speaker, so I assume it's better than that. Is it loud enough to listen to music without headphones?

My speaker isn't loud enough - when the phone is ringing/when in speaker in a phonecall / when listening to music. Same goes for the earpiece volume - and the volume is at the maximum level.

Now, I took one of those MP3s and set it as my ring tone. I turned the ringtone volume all the way up and when I got a call, it's like half the volume as it played as an MP3.
Why do I lose so much volume? Is there any way to make that louder?
I want to replace my iphone in HTC phone and thought about the legend and i got some questions for the users of that phone cuz its hard to relay on an review without hear real experience by a real HTC user.
1. how is the phone generally?
2. how is the battery cuz in every site is different info
3. how is the loud speaker for talking not music listening
4. and in generally is it worth it or maybe to think to upgrade to desire?
5. and any usefull info will be welcome.
My wife has a Droid2 and when she uses the speaker phone function, things sound fine on her end, but for the caller on the other end, there is an unbearably loud noise of them speaking. For instance, when I call her and she has me on speaker, I can hear myself speaking super loud coming out of her phone. I can't even concentrate to get my sentence out. Has anyone else had this problem or heard of it? She is using a hard snap on case from Verizon as well, not sure if it could be the sound bouncing of that or something?

There are many, many great things about it from my early impression but what about you? What were you most pleasantly surprised about once you started playing with yours? For me I was very surprised at the quality and volume of the speaker. This thing sounds beautiful for one single speaker. Iphone's don't even get close to the beauty of this speaker. I was expecting it to sound tinny and dull but this thing is loud, full and vibrant. I know that I made the right purchase for sure.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else get bad quality at medium to higher volumes through normal calls (not speakerphone). Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.

I'm a brand new HTC Desire user, and on the advice of some friends I've installed Meridian media player and Audiomanager (among other apps, of course). The problem I have is that the minimum volume for media is still too loud for me while listening to music at work. Is there any way I could say, lower the overall volume of the phone? Secondly, what kind of app can people suggest as an equalizer for adjusting bass/treble etc?

Unfortunately though, the lowest media volume setting is too loud through my headphones. It's seems to be either a choice of no music (i.e media volume turned to zero) or the next level up (which is too loud). Is there anyway to get a volume in between the two? This happens before i put the phone up to my ear so it is not my face that is turning on speaker phone. If i hold the phone in my hand and dial a number and press call, it goes to speaker phone. If the phone rings and i answer it, it will always go straight to speak phone.

Dumb ass, I'm using the inbuilt speaker on the phone. While for the most part, this is fine, I would like to increase the volume slightly. Obviously not enough to blow the speaker. We've had our desire's for a few weeks now and was just wondering what the phones performance is like for you guys/gals? you've all put on apps that you want and music and videos etc., has this affected the phone in anyway? Does it still run like it did out of the box or do you experience lag or other faults? Interested what you have to say.
The only gripe that I have is it is sometimes slow to access the market and takes a few seconds to load the page when scrolling down and I've got a stutter when I access an app to read reviews. Other than that it still runs smooth, I've got music, videos, apps, widgets and voice to text on mine and is easily the best phone I've ever had. Has anybody got a cache cleaner app, I can only find one for rooted phones?
