Samsung Captivate :: Redial Function To Hold It To Redial Last Number On Phone?
Sep 1, 2010Many phones that have a dedicated call button allow you to hold it to redial the last number. This is something I've come to use a decent amount, so I'm wondering if the Captivate has a similar feature with either its physical keys or dock icons.

Feb 10, 2010I've had my Hero about a week now and one thing that I've found annoying is that when you go into the phone application the default action for the call button is to redail the last number. I have inadvertantly made several (very short) calls by accidentally brushing the call button (or double click the physical on) before I have made any selection in the list.
Is there a way to disable this feature. E.g I wish to physically select or enter a number before the "call" button will place a call.
I did find a reference on this forum to "Not Call Log" which switched away from the screen after a call. I just want something that prevents me miss dialling in the first place.

I have a Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i, Bootloader unlocked, Rooted) with a Samsung HM1700 bluetooth headset. The headset has a button for answering / ending calls and this same button also has the last number redial functionality, ie when not in a call, pressing this button redials the last dialed number.
AFAIK, the headset just sends a signal to the mobile which then calls the last dialed number.What I need, is to disable only the bluetooth redial functionality on my mobile.

Mar 8, 2010Sometimes (every 5th time or so) when I turn on my Electronics Voyager 510 BT headset my Droid will auto redial when it connects to the headset. I used to think I was accidentally holding down the redial button on the headset but I tested it this morning by putting both down on the table and it happened. anyone else, or is it just me?

I would like an app that would set the divert to different numbers depending on location.
i work/live in a rural area, so i have a hero on one network which at the moment, when i am out somewhere, diverts to another phone on a different network when there is no signal because the network coverage varies so much!
but, the signal in my house is terrible on both networks so i have to divert the hero (main) phone number to my landline as this is my main contact number for business and the answer machine is attached.
it would make it easier for me if there was something that recognized when i was in or out of the house and set the divert accordingly, most of my appointments are noted in the calendar, so even if it was triggered by an appointment or such, that would be enough, any app suggestions?

Jul 2, 2010Since I got my Hero in November, I've been able to use the internet while on a phone call through my Bluetooth headset.I've done it hundreds of times.Everything from surfing the web to clicking and viewing picture links in Twitter texts.Suddenly, tonight, I tried to do it and noticed that I had no internet connection.As soon as I hung up from the call, the internet kicked back on.I looked up what I was trying to look up and when I got another phone call, it kicked off again.I have looked up this issue and have read repeatedly that you can't do this on a CDMA network.My question is this...why was I able to do it for months and suddenly I'm not? I just did it last night!

Sure, I know that you can press the 'end call' button to end a call, but about three or four rings into the call, the backlight goes out, meaning that the on-screen 'end call' option is disabled, presumably also meaning that turning on the speakerphone during a call is going to need some tactile finger acrobatics.

Oct 6, 2009I've switched from the iPhone to the Hero a week ago. I really like the Hero, even though some functions are better on the iphone (like the musci player).
There is one Issue however, which is really bugging me with the HTC, which might make me switch back to the iPHone if I can't find a solution.
Problem:
When I call with my headset (Not the original ones, I don't have huge ear holes....) I can't "switch off" the screen and put the phone in my pocket and call while walking... This sucks, as I have to hold the phone in my hands, which kind of kills the idea of having a headset.

I had that phone stolen and got a replacement that is identical but running newer software, I think. All is great, except for the fact that it no longer displays the time a call was made or received in the history. I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..

Oct 14, 2010I don't remember my DroidX always doing this, but recently after I hang-up from a call it shows the "Call Time XX:XX" in the center of the screen and I can't do anything until it goes away, which is generally 5-8 seconds. Hitting Home, Back, etc does nothing and tapping on the screen or the message also does nothing.Is this a setting I can disable? I can look at the recent calls to get the length of call if I need to see it, so I don't need the dramatic pause to give me this info.

Jan 22, 2010It seems like my Samsung Behold2 the call drop ratios is extremely high, call drops out of no where and sometimes I have seen full bars on phone but still calls get dropped. Another issue that while on the call the other parties voice will stop coming, the phone will be running and shows the call timer on as well, cannot end the call if this happens, the dialers just seems like hanged. only thing to come out from this issue is either take the battery out or somehow manage it to go in airplane mode.
