Was using wireless just fine for the past month up to about an hour ago. My router is still working and my laptop is working just fine through wireless so nor sure what the problem is. I tried turning the wireles@ on phone off and on.. no change. Tried powering off and,on. no change. Any ideas?

Didn't do anything different. All of a sudden it stopped working. It sees it and connects to it, but can't browse the web or update from other apps, etc. Rebooted phone and told it to "forget" my connection and reset it. Nothing helped. Other computers in the house connect fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy daughter's ZTE Supreme suddenly stopped working tonight. She uses a pattern on her touch screen to unlock it, and the touch screen wasn't registering. When I took it to look at it, I noticed that the phone was overheating. I popped the battery, let it cool down completely, and tried again. Same thing - unresponsive touch screen and it pretty much immediately overheated.

I have always received email notification before. I have notification allowed in gmail, email, and k9, and still no notification: I have to go into the application and do a manual refresh. I use a "@googlemail.com ". account on orange UK.

I'm on vodafone and when i try to refresh the news feed, i keep getting a "an error had occurred while fetching data (null)" message appearing. It's the original Facebook app on the phone, and i've never had any problems with it before, so am a little confused why it has suddenly stopped working. I haven't changed any settings or anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUp until several days ago/yesterday you could scroll through the home screens in a circular manner( ie swiping the finger in one direction while the last screen would be replaced by the first one). Now all the sudden I see that my screens are like between two walls, when you reach the right or the left end you can't continiue further.
Is this some change in the settings someone made accidentally?

My 3 month old hero ( 3 UK - 1.6 ) has just stopped detecting ANY wi-fi signals. I haven't rooted. I have removed the battery and removed then reinstalled the we-fi application. I toggle on/ off / on the wi-fi and the phone indicates this as being on. My next idea is to factory reset the phone and if that does not work to send it back to 3.

Periodically it'll tap back into that location and if you are near it it'll flip on WiFi so you can connect. If you aren't near an area you've connected too before, it'll keep wifi off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some spots in office and home that WIFI signal is strong enough for me to locate it but not strong enough for actually having internet access, and so it causes me to not have an internet access at all since 3G is disabled for WIFI but WIFI is dead. The option on the Advanced for "Avoid Poor connection" seems to work only for REALLY BAD signal, and a little bit more than that it approves. Is there a way to edit it? re-arrange it so it will avoid "Fair" signals too? or set a minimum percentage of signal (lets say 50%) and less than that it forces 3G.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had used some public wifis in mc donalds and airport in the past. I never had any problems. Yes, some required sms verifications, but anyways, my phone could connect to them.
After a month, i went to the airport and mc donalds again, but i cant connect to any of them. There were hotspots in other places as well, run by different telecom companies. all of them were open networks. but i just cant connect. I can still connect to my home WiFi.
Its not a ROM issue. i have tried several ROMs. I have never changed my baseband, mac address or anything like that.
Is it possible that my hardware is damaged? (but i can connect to my home wifi, which is also open) Or my mac address/phone number is "globally blocked"? (i had tried hotspots of different telecom companies. nd i dont know if theres a way to get my phone number by just trying to connect to a WiFi) Or have they installed something like "connect only with laptops"? does anything like that exist?
I've recently upgraded my Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 all to Android 4.4 and as soon as I upgraded my Wi-Fi has been awful.The Wi-Fi is incredibly unstable, steaming media has major buffering / intermittency issues, messages sent over instant messaging apps are sometimes instant and sometimes take 30+ seconds to send.
Skype is the most telling of the issues as it randomly loses connection and my notifications literally never come through..Router Wi-Fi Settings: I've tried Channels, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11

I've had a Galaxy Tab for 2 years, and used it, very successfully, as a wifi hotspot from May until July this year, when my laptop was suddenly not able to connect to the internet via the hotspot. It connected just fine to the Tab, and has no problems on my home wifi. The Tab was still able to connect to the internet normally, with no apparent problems.
I fiddled about a bit and thought perhaps it was a hardware problem, so bought a seconhand Nexus S. That has been working fine until yesterday, when the exact same thing has happened - the laptop can connect fine to the Nexus, but says there is no internet connection. The Nexus itself is connecting just fine.
I'm in the UK - my carrier is Three (Hutchinson).
I'm not sure if it's just me experienced this wired situation. I got TP-Link 108M wireless router at home and all my 4 PCs and 1 wireless cam connected to the router with no issues for 1.5 years. But ever since I brought in my HTC-Desire last week, I experienced dropped connections almost everyday. If I switch the Desire off, then every thing gets to normal. Have you experienced same? Is this something I can overcome by set some settings?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI searched but didn't find anything like this. Wifi on my Evo just doesn't work anymore. I've restarted, cycled all the radios (3G, 4G, BT, etc) on and off thinking something might be hung somewhere, but nothing seems to work. I told it to "forget" my router and then re-entered the password, but it still will not connect to my router either at work or at home. The service will start, but it will not connect to any networks. I'm sure it's some setting or perhaps some app I installed, but I figured while I dig deeper into the issue, it couldn't hurt to start a thread here and perhaps get some suggestions. this is nuts, but I hit the sunken "reset" button on the router and now everything works great again. I'm pleased to know there was nothing wrong with the phone, but perplexed about the router. I guess I'll have to dig into the router settings and see if I can figure out what went wrong.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the froyo upgrade 2 days ago and it seems to have stopped my wifi working. Its not a problem with the router as other devices work on the router. I also checked my desire on other wifi networks and there is no connection to the internet. I manually put in the ip address and the wifi icon comes up but still no link to the internet. When I use my3G mobile internet everything works so it can only be a bug with froyo upgrade.

If i then leave the house and return the wi-fi fails to reconnect automatically. This has only happened since i carried out the update and noticed someone else on another thread has exactly the same problem on vodafone eforum. Is there a solution? Currently i need to turn wi-fi off and back on again and it works, not the end of the world but a pain since it used to work so well! I've tried y5 to try and force it, to no avail and carried out a reset (not full factory just remove battery etc).

Allshare video playback from other devices over wifi just stopped working. It was totally fine and I have absolutely no idea what happened. It still plays music and shows photos and all the files stored on external devices. The only problem is that it won't play video. It plays video stored locally or on sd card just fine, but when I want to play anything from my note 2 (n7105) or my pc's allshare app, video player shows error message: "Cannot play video. This video cannot be played".
It plays the same files just fine, when I copy them to the device, so I think it might be the case of some transcoding error. It is not a case of network settings - I've checked on 4 different wifi networks and it's the same everywhere. My note 2 works just fine on any wifi and plays all video from tablet or pc. Here is what I tried so far, with no results:
1. Restoring to factory defaults,
2. Wiping cache and dalvik cache,
3. Flashing fresh stock rom,
4. Erasing all allshare apps and video player data
N8020 & N7105 (JB 4.1.2 rooted + stock)
