I go to messages then compose a message and choose to send it to someones email address. But they never receive the message. When I go to the message, by it is a box with 3 horizontal lines on, and at the top right of this is a clock. I turned off WiFi and tried resending them. This time it sent the MMS messages to the email addresses. Still no luck sending MMS messages over WiFi though.

i have 3 accounts set up on the phone, blueyonder(virgin media) hotmail and gmail. I use my blueyonder account for my job and it is important that emails reach me in a timely manner, i have come from a blackberry so no probs there. The porblem i am having is the dont always come through straight away, i have the phone set to check server every 5 mins, yesterday evening at 18.00 i received 9 mails all at once which had been sent from 14.00 onwards in the afternoon. I have also have had it when emails have come through a day late. Does anyone get the same problems, is this a phone problem or a virgin media problem, i suppose it could be a connection problem but i have wifi at my home and this was on from when i got home.

I sent an email with an attachment today and it never got sent, it is still in the outbox folder. So as a test just now, I sent myself 2 emails (one with an attachment, one without) and only one of the two went through (the one without attachment).

At first, no matter how many times I refreshed, my new mails were not showing up. I tried deleting my email account from my phone and then adding it back. This fixed the problem for a day or two, but now I am having emails show up twice in the inbox, and my phone will update basically whenever it wants to. I only realized this, because every time I have checked my mail on my computer I have 5-10 emails more than are showing up on my phone. WTH?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had my Hero set the way I wanted it for the past 5 months, long story short, I ended up resetting the phone and am now try to add my yahoo mail, gmail, and my Exchange mail. When I setup my Exchange mail, I add an icon to my home screen, works fine. Then I bring another mail icon and add it to the homescreen and setup my yahoo mail, all is good, and so forth for my gmail. The way I had it set up before, I could click each Icon and get my mail accordingly in each of the 3 (mail) icons. In fact, before, one of the icons was even labeled "yahoo". NOW when I try to set it up, it wants to give me the same email in all folders. I do not have anything set as my default.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've set up Hotmail to be the default email account and has always seemed to work fine (although the sync doesn't always work - when read on the phone, then deleted on a computer, this is not reflected on phone, if that makes sense). However, recently have been having problems receiving emails. I've tried entering the password again; even tried deleting the account and re-setting it up. The former doesn't make any difference. The latter seems to work the first time (with every email coming up unread), but subsequently fails to refresh with new emails.

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot my Hero almost on release date from Orange Uk. I am well happy with it especially after the ROM update (official Orange one from HTC). I suffered from the missing SMS problem thats mentioned in another thread on here but I installed SMS2mailbox and that seems to be sorted now. I don't use my gmail account as my main email account I use my ISP which is Sky. I have a strange hit and miss problem with the POP mailbox and I wondered if anyone else suffers from it or knows a fix.
I have the email account setup on the Hero and it shows mail in my mailbox no problem, the issue I have is that it randomly deletes mails from my POP server and only keeps the copy on the phone. Heres an example. I get sent 5 emails in a day while I am at work. I check my Hero mail app and it shows them all. When I get home I open my Outlook client on my PC and only 4 emails come down. I can check on the phone and it still displays the 5. First I thought it was a phone setting but the 'Delete Mail on Server' is definitely set to off. This happened before and after the ROM update. I wonder if it is peculiar to Skys mail servers.
I have a HTC Hero on o2 (an unlocked G2 Touch to be specific) which is set up to connect to my work email using the on-board mail app (the non-gmail one). As I have folders for my emails, I use IMAP both within Outlook 2003 at work and on the Hero. This all worked swimmingly for about 2 months and then recently I have noticed that I have been getting a lot fewer emails both on the Hero and within Outlook. I have also seen emails which I received during the day in Outlook disappearing after about an hour or so. I have spoken to my email provider and they tested it by sending me an email (genius) which strangely is still present in outlook, although it didn't appear on my hero. So in summary, it seems that I have two problems - my hero doesnt seem to download any emails, and my IMAP account is losing emails. I should probably add that my hero is configured to show all emails (irrespective of age or size). I have also checked my webmail and the emails are missing from there.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a few hotmail accounts and I access them via Live Mail on my work computer and my home computer as well as my hero. If I delete them on my home computer they still show up on my hero (Same with my work computer, delete and stills hows on my hero). What settings do I need to flip so that if I delete the emails on one system they don't show up on any of the other systems. (same with showing read). Is it a matter of IMPA vs POP3? It gets annoying to have to delete 30+ emails every morning on my hero after I've read them on my PC.

Of course this happens when I'm away from home with no access to my gmail account other than my hero. When I go to my gmail webpage and settings on my hero, I noticed that there wasn't the option to manually fetch mail. Then I remembered that you had to change the gmail address to http instead of https due to some security issue they had. But when I try to do this via Dolphin on the hero, I can't seem to find a way to change the web address to http.

What I can't figure out is if and how you can (a) control how often the Hero polls googlemail to check for new emails; and (b) how often googlemail polls the 'real' accounts to check for new emails.
