I've got a googlemail account set up to relay mail from my 'real' accounts onto my new Hero. What I can't figure out is if and how you can (a) control how often the Hero polls googlemail to check for new emails; and (b) how often googlemail polls the 'real' accounts to check for new emails. Anyone know if either of these can be controlled by user?

I have a pop e-mail account set up on my incredible to check every 10 minutes for new e-mail, but it never does. the only time it checks for new mail is when I manually launch the mail app. My Gmail account works fine. I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

I've been using the HTC app, but have noticed that after a day or so the notification sound stops playing when I receive an email. This happened for anyone else? Anyone tried both apps for any length of time and have strong opinions over which app is better? I saw a review that said the HTC app is better but the Google one doesn't seem too bad to me... Anyone using the Google app that would care to chime in?

Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just replaced my old phone with a new HTC Hero. Is there a way of importing all my contacts from CSV onto my HTC Hero without uploading them to googlemail? I was hoping there would be some software that i could install onto my PC, which would allow me to transfer the contact details across. I don't really want to manually type then in on the HTC Hero, although i don't mind cut pasting from my CSV file into some appropriate software - if such a thing exists.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAs far as I can tell, my IMAP account (not a gmail or exchange account) is up and running on my phone; I don't get any connection/other errors upon setup, and can send emails with no problems. However, I cannot download emails to my received mailbox. BUT, if I send an email to myself from my phone, even though it does NOT show up as received, it DOES show up in my Conversations (this may be irrelevant). Any thoughts on why I can't 'receive' are much appreciated!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have checked the settings and I have the "delete from server" box checked and I went onto the server and the emails are not there but when I delete the emails on the app, they will disappear until the next time it refreshes itself. This is getting very annoying and it is crowding my inbox heavily. Anyone else having this problem or know how to fix it?
View 2 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason, my phone stopped checking for email (on 5 separate accounts) G-mail still pushed fine, so it took a couple of days for me to notice, but in the meantime, my battery life nearly doubled.
A re-boot fixed the email issue and battery life is back to normal- 12-18 hours average use. I had set the other five accounts to check for mail at varying times. One was set for every 30min, the rest were every 2 hours (or more).
I did not realize what a battery drain email checking was causing.

Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer. View 3 Replies View RelatedOk after a few deals where things seemed a little amiss with stuff happening on their own on my Moto Droid I have found a good example and wonder what other people think about this question.Not to long ago I read somewhere about confirmation that Google can go into your phone and wipe apps and make changes on the fly with push technology and no notice. How true is this and can Devs do the same thing? About a month ago a program that I used regularly after trying to start it I get a msg that the program can not be found.I went to the Market download and it was shown that it was installed but that there was an Update for it. Updated and everything was fine. (Did the Dev's for that app do a push to inactivate the app because the update was critical and had to be installed?)Now just last week I updated the Application Where and after the update when trying to run it from a home screen or from the App menu it would say program not found. I had to actually go to Market--Downloads hit Where and then when the app screen popped up with the Open and Uninstall button at the bottom use the open button to get it to run.I proceeded to uninstall the program and reinstall and still same problem.I wrote Where and told them of my problem on Friday.Yesterday Tuesday I got a response.They changed their name from Where to WHERE and it was causing problems and that I should delete any homepage icons and use the menu Icon.I then went to the menu icon hit it and the program ran. The thing is there was no updates. I did a uninstall/install on the program. tried to run the program from the menu Icon and no success Now after an email from WHERE I go to the icon on the menu screen and it works.

What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

I have 2 google+ accounts set up on this phone because I play a game called Clash of Clans. I had to link both my IOS accounts over to 2 google play accounts. Now when I connect via Wi-Fi anywhere, it downloads the emails from both accounts. Is there a way for only allow for one of them to download? I'm not too familiar with this new operating system, so maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot.

1) how do you enable voice activation so you can search by voice rather than typing stuff in?
2) how on earth do you modify routes so that you can avoid motorways for example? i cant find any way to drag points on the map in the same way you can on the normal PC version of maps?
how google voice application is taking control of the default phone native dialer? Is it using the public android API? I saw how google voice display a bubble at top and mask the dialed out number in the native dialer. We need to do something like this in our application but I can't find nothing about how to do it. Please google guys give me a tip about if it's native code or public api.
