my htc hero wont pick up my gmail emails anymore??? did to start with but now it wont?? i have tried to add another e-mail address onto the handset and gave the correct pop3 settings but all i get is 'cannot connect to the mail server to verifiy your account information, your server is not repsonding'

I have a pop 3 email account set up. When I delete and email it goes into the delete folder. Fine I get that. But is there a way to delete the contents of the delete folder? Is there a way to select multiple emails to delete at one time instead of doing 1 by 1?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was frustrated with our droids ability to use multiple pop3 email accounts at once. Sometime my emails would arrive hours after they were sent, which in business is unacceptable. Multiple pop3 accounts and gmail through activesync worked so smooth on my windows mobile Omnia i910. I am now trying to use mail fetcher integrated in gmail. I like it ok, and it's polling interval is getting shorter all the time (since google automatically calculates how often it should do it). I setup the pop3 accounts to get Labeled as the email account they come in on and auto Archive. I Archive the mail because I do not like a common inbox. Call me old school or whatever but I like to keep my buisness and pleasure separated. Here is my question:
My real question is now on my phone how can I automatically tell when a new email arrives from one of those other accounts (since it auto archives under it's label and hence doesn't show up in my inbox). If I can get this working my phone will be everything I always wanted.
Getting your G-mail account to push emails instantly? I always have to refresh my app in order for it to tell me that I have emails.

It takes all the emails from my home account as well as showing emails from my new gmail address. However, when it takes emails from my home account it doesn't leave a copy in that account. I like gmail dragging in emails from my home account but I also like having the emails in my home account too. I have tried to find the answer on both gmail and my home account settings but can't get to the bottom of it. Does anyone know how to drag emails into my gmail account but keep a copy in the original account?

How can I delete my emails on my gmail account on my phone without deleting them on my inbox on my computer If i close the background data it does not notify me of incoming mail. I have to refresh to check for messages.

I am able to send e-mail from the phone.The funny thing is that if I check my email from my PC and empty any e-mail's that are in my inbox, then try to check for new e-mail's with my DroidX (knowing that there are none) I do not get any errors.The errors only occur when there are e-mails in my inbox.Didn't have any problems with this setup with the incredible.

I have tested it with a hotmail account and it works fine, is gmail supported?

I noticed that the only way to view my school gmail account was through the gmail app, however I can view my personal gmail account with the mail app on my home screen. I have tried to select my ASU gmail account for that app but it doesn't give me an option to show it. Is there any way to add that account to the mail viewer?

In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

I have my hotmail synced up but it only picks up a select few emails as new and when I go and delete the things they reappear during the next refresh cycle.Basically it does nothing but let me read the few mails it chose to display.Also, an unrelated note, when using the enter keybon the keyboard it sometimes works as intended to "submit" something say in the google search bar on the webpage.However sometimes instead of submitting, it acts as a tab button and skips to the next text field. This is best reproduced at google's site. When I type in the top search box (there are two on their mobile site) it tabs to the bottom box and I lose what I just typed.It happens on some websites to.Is there any way to set it to always submit?

What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

The geeks at Best Buy set up my email for me which works fine (after multiple trips back to the store). Except that I can't figure out how to do a couple of things. 1. Is there a way to select and delete multiple emails on the phone and 2. How do I get rid of all my spam mail that comes in on the laptop (and gets filtered out there). Do I have to set up some kind of email push program so that the email comes in from my computer (already filtered) instead of from the server? You can see my learning curve is steep.........
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find a good email set up on my Droid. When I got my droid I set up my email for POP3 since I have Yahoo Mail Plus. I do not want to use imap for many reasons. It set up no problem, put it constantly pulls old messages from the server or ones that I deleted off the phone (not the server) days earlier. So then, I switched to having gmail pull my yahoo mail via pop3. That solved the old message issues, but if anyone know about gmail, you can't set the frequency by which it pulls from the server. I would always get my email anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour and half after it was actually received. So today I tried the new imap set up. It works except I have a computer at home that's pulling the message via POP3. When it does that, it marks them as read on the server. Because of that I don't get notified of new messages. When the Droid syncs with yahoo, it shows that the message is already read.

I have my Epic setup to poll my corporate POP3 mail server every 10 minutes.When I arrived at work this morning I changed the polling to "Never" on my Epic, and opened Outlook on my PC.I received an error indicating the the POP3 server was locked by another session.I turned off my Epic and a minute or so later, Outlook was able to successfully connect.How can this be avoided? Am I not completely closing out of the Email session on my Epic?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched quite a bit and haven't been able to find anyone else with this problem.I've been using the built-in Mail app on my Hero for the last month with my Yahoo e-mail account (it's a Plus account, using the POP settings provided by Yahoo)...with zero issues. Yesterday, I noticed that I wasn't receiving new messages anymore. I've got the program set to update every hour, and even when manually clicking refresh, the phone would not download any new e-mail messages from my account (and wouldn't send either). There were no error messages though, it appeared to be synced up (the time would show up next to the sync symbol in the top left corner of the app.I knew my settings were correct, so I figured I would just try to delete the account and set it up again. I selected "delete account" and after giving confirmation, the message on the screen said that it was deleting the account but it never finished. The program wouldn't do anything, figured I'd try to force it to close with my task killer but Mail didn't even show up as running. Next step...shut the phone down and powered it back on. Opened Mail up and the account was no longer showing, however there is still some memory of it somewhere as when I attempt to set it up again it tells me that there is already an account with that e-mail address.I can get around that by setting up a new account and changing one character in my address until all the settings are entered in (and then go back and change it), but I'd like to find out if I can address this problem head on (without a hard reset).
