I want to change the password on my Google/Gmail account � that�s easy enough online, but where are the account details held on my Hero? Is it possible to trip the Google account set up screens again? Surely a factory reset is not required!

i change my google account password on my pc last night. now my android 4.4.2 is trippin. i need to change the password on my android. how do i go about doing this. ???

i try changing the password with the chrome browser on android. didnt work. i went into account that didnt work.
I haven't been able to figure out how to change the google account I originally activated my hero with. The reason i want to change it is because my gmail app only opens email from that account, and I used a new gmail account to register my phone with that was specifically for my contacts, and now i cant check my other gmail accounts email. anyone know a good solution without having to format?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI got my HTC Desire a few days ago, and as I needed a Google account for the Market I rememberd one I had created/palyed around with some months ago. The credentials were stored in my KeePass file, but the password was like 20 random letters and numbers. So I changed it to something typeable and entered it in my phone. Needles to say I forgot to change it in keepass and now I can't remember it.
Is there any practicable way to show the password stored in my device?
I can login to Gmail.com on any desktop/mobile browser however whenever I try to add a Google Account on my phone, I get this error: Your username and password do not match. (To recover your account information, go to URL.... on your computer.)"
I have tried changing the password but its still the same. I know its not a password issue as I can login to google.com on my desktop and laptop.I also went to this site and tried to add a Google account but it did not work. Tried setting up a different Google ID and it worked right away. So it looks like there has to be some issue with my Google ID.
how it happened as it was working fine until I reset my phone.
I have recently wasted all of my time on my tablet. I have stop using my tablet since new years eve due to my forgotten google account password. I have to hard resetting it but my Tablet does not have volume buttons on the outside only on the touch screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm writing because I'm having some trouble. Due to some hacking attempts, I had to change my primary gmail password to something wacky, and now, of course, my EVO can't access my google account for my contacts and calendar.
I can't find a way to change the password, however. I've tried clearing the data from the gmail program as recommended in another thread, but now I keep getting the captcha over and over again.
Any advice or suggestions as to what I can do to fix this?
Is it possible to use a google account for features such as google contacts and latitude? I know this is not possible for Android market, but would it be possible for other google products? I saw it is possible on this Android 2.0 review: Android 2.0 Review: Almost Human Did they remove this feature from the 2.1 that Hero uses, or can't I just find it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me insane. When I setup my Hero I had to setup a gmail account, even though I have a Google Account. I setup a gmail account to get the phone setup. I now want to make my gmail account something that makes a little more sense to me. I am not using my gmail account but apparently it shows on Google Latitude to my friends, etc. My question is how does one unlink a gmail account and add a new one? When I go to my Google Accounts to delete gmail it says it will take about 2 days. I wait 2 days and nothing happens. If I attempt to add Gmail back to my Google Account is hows my old address and will not allow me to create a new one. Is it not possible to change the linked gmail address to your google account??

I also run my own domain, and have just migrated my domain's email and calendar to Google Apps. I would like to set my phone up to sync everything from my Google Apps account rather than the random Gmail account I signed up for when I got the phone. Is there any way to achieve this without doing a Factory Data Reset? I am willing to do the Factory Data Reset if I have to, but if I need to go through that process, are there any procedures I should follow to backup important data before hand? Also, will the reset take me back to 1.5?

My bro forgot his google password. The secondary email is completely defunct. The security question is completely incomprehensible. He even filled out the form to convince google that he is who he says he is... no dice.
The ONLY place the password is stored is his HTC Hero, as a saved gmail password.
My question is... is there a way to export, decrypt, or recover his gmail password on his Hero?
My husband's Droid was factory-reset by Verizon yesterday, and he lost all of his apps and also forgot his Google login for Marketplace. We set up a new account, but then realized that he can't get his apps back. I figured out his original login, but cannot figure out how to log him out so we can log him back in using his original account.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI wanted to change the Google account that my phone was linked to, so I cleared the google app. Now when I try to sign in using my google account to link the phone with the phone (the new one or the old one) it asks for my login info, then says Signing in and says it may take up to 5 minutes. Then it gives me a message that says: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. This could be a temporary problem or your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care." I have called customer care and they can't figure it out. They told me I need to go to a Sprint Store that does service, but there isn't one very close to me, so I'd rather not take half a day to drive there if I don't have to.
I have full bars and everything else works great. I can get my email, use the internet and do everything else that doesn't require the use of the google account. But I can't use the google mail feature or go to the Marketplace. I'm using 1.56.651.2 and haven't really done anything else to the phone as far as changing settings or rooting or anything.
I have contacts in my phone book that I entered manually and wanted to know if there was a way to sync them to my Gmail account in case something were to ever happen to my phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI changed my main Google/gmail account recently, and decided to update my Hero, but having cleared the data from Google Apps (in Manage Applications) I now can't connect my new account due to the problems described here and here. I'm pretty much resigned to doing a factory reset (annoying though), but is there any way I can back up SMS messages? Some data I can extract from the SD Card, but I can't install anything to backup SMS as I'm unable to install anything from the market. So if anyone has any info on either of these issues I'd be really grateful - I'd either like to avoid having to do a reset, or find some way of backing-up without having access to the market.

I start saving them to phone instead of Google when giving the option, thinking i could just sync whenever i upgraded ROMS. I was wrong i lost some contacts, restoring older ROMS. So for future references I will save to google, I just want to know if the current contacts now can be saved to Google grouped or i have to go in and do them individually.
