Firstly and most irritating is the fact i cannot download apps off the android marketplace on wifi or 3G. I click download but the progress bar just remains on 'starting download,and secondly i can't connect email accounts properly my hotmail connects and doesn't pick up my emails and i can't even connect my googlemail.com address.

I have had a problem with the android marketplace on my HTC tattoo since i got it at christmas where i can't download any apps and the progress just stops at 'starting download' -- i have tried factory resets, new google accounts, wifi and network etc. etc. but it still doesn't work. i have been looking at google help and some people have solved the problem by simply signing into the google talk application that comes standard on most android phones. my tattoo doesn't have google talk though and i have no way of getting it. So can anyone provide me with a link to download the file off a file-sharing website such as rapidshare?

View 31 Replies View RelatedI finally (after some trouble) rooted my Captivate earlier today. Since then, I have not been able to download any apps from the Android Marketplace, either paid or free.
The apps get to the stage of "Starting Download" but just wind up hanging there infinitely.
Is it likely that something occurred during or indirectly related to the rooting itself that's caused this problem, or is this just as likely coincidental?
the email app being the the white envelope, yellow insert icon app. so for example, when i hit one specific inbox, i can either hit "refresh", or pull down for it to retrieve emails. But when i go into "all accounts" I don't see an option.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRooted my droid X using the one click method, and since doing that I can't download ANYTHING from the android marketplace. all that happens is that I get the orange triangle icon in the task bar that says "Program A" can't download.
I have 'unrooted' my phone using the same method and nothing seems to help. I also read that there was a link to google talk and that I would need to log into google talk's app and it would be fixed. Well, google talk won't let me log in, says it can't connect.
Note that all other Internet features, and google voice still work great. Any ideas?

I have 3 emails: Gmail working OK. Yahoo working OK (using K-9) and there is work account. I can receive emails OK but cannot send any out. Because I cannot use work SMTP server I went and enter my smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com port 587 require sign in. There are lots of errors: from push error: null / relay access denied / imap server is not idle capable... Can I have same SMTP under two accounts?
Can someone tell me if there are differences between using a Gmail email account on my android phone vs. using another email (ie hotmail). Also if there are, what are the differences? You can probably tell I'm new to Android.

I also installed a copy of it on a device directly, perhaps as an email attachment.If I upload an updated version of the app to the marketplace, will the device be notified that a new version of the app exists on marketplace? Or does that update-alert system depend on the app being originally installed through marketplace?
