Followed the push instructions for putting 2.2 on eris and now the android keeps shining and nothing is working. Also computer can tell that something is plugged in but wont recognize it.

I was trying to install a theme on my HTC Inspire 4G with 4EXT Recovery and i think it bricked it i tryed a hard rest and it boots into 4EXT i tryed the wipe fotmat that didnt work anyway to save it

View 2 Replies View Relatedso im on my second eris root. all is well thus far, accept now i am trying to boot from recovery to put vanilladroid on it, and i cant get into recovery mode. i didnt have this problem with the last phone i did this to, and i dont know what im doing wrong at this point. i have reloaded amon's recovery image, and done all of that process over again. nothing works, when i boot power/volume up, all i get is the skateboard guys, then the exclamation point inside a triangle, with a phone laying down. "button mashing" on the end and send buttons then leads the phone to reboot back to normal mode. i even tried to reboot recovery from adb, and still got this end result. i am out of ideas (as im no programmer...)also, i have tried to get on irc, but keep getting booted, even when switching sn's.so ive given up on that as well

Please contact Swype about this issue. Screen size: 320x480)"I was able to use 1.56 fine on xtrROM 4.2.1, just installing 1.60 seems to be giving me issues.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBoth of the stickers - the one on my phone, and the one on the battery still have red X's. I have read that this is good. I dropped my phone in a toilet (recently flushed thank god) in the Staten Island Ferry Terminal (see, nothing good comes of traveling to SI!) and grabbed it out as soon as I saw it. I had a plastic case on the back of it. Took it apart as soon as I got my wits about me. And no, I wasn't using it - It flew out of my backpack when I turned around.
It will turn on but has this odd boot up screen. I don't believe rice will get the water out of the inside, and I don't have a screw driver tiny enough. If I bring it to the Verizon store will they know it had water damage from the screen alone? It looks normal almost like the DOS blue screen of death sort. Also, the little tiny green sticker in the lower right hand corner that says VOID - is that a water damage indicator too? I don't recall ever caring what it was.
Its not doing anything thing? Like all it says is HTC and its got like a spotlight on it, I am charging it now so maybe its because I needed to be charged? a little help!

I can boot it into Hboot, I've done a factory reset, didn't work. The customer said they deleted all their contacts from the phone, charged it then the next day it was stuck like this.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a motorola droid milestone and it is my first smartphone. I followed a guide to install Froyo there. The other day and update to android started installing (supposedly from verizon) on system updates. For the last few days it has been downloading, finished downloading and then telling me the system is updated (no reboot nor anything) and then it will start to download again. I have no clue why that may be.
Build number is voles-userdebug 2.2 FRFxx 49593 test-keys
Only thing I did with a terminal emulator was remove a couple of applications
(visual voice mail and google search, google voice search and google earth to install them from the market as I was unable to update them).
Every time I go to CWM and pick a zip file to flash, it starts writing log, but as soon as it hits the point "Opening update file", it gets stuck there. I waited for an hour, and it just didn't progress. I had CWM work before. Oddly, I can still install Gapps.zip and CM9nightly.zip(I'm using CM9 now, because there ain't no choice...[not saying it's bad rom, it's just greedy for battery])
And sometimes, it won't get stuck there, but instead it aborts the install and says:
"E:can't open /sdcard/update-Arconium-ICS-v7.zip
(Bad)
Installation aborted."
(obviously update-Arconium is the rom I try to install)
I've tried to format my SD card couple of times, but it made no difference.
I've tried wiping data, dalvik and cache. No difference.
I've tried corresponding kernels. Again, no difference.
Twitter showed there was an update in Market last night, so naturally, I updated. After like an hour, I noticed it was still showing as "Installing" in Market. I turned off the phone and back on. Still showed "Installing" I went to sleep figuring it has to finish by the time I wake up.I tried uninstalling Twitter with AppBrain. Still shows "Installing" Rebooted my phone again.

In the emulator if i choose the target as Google APIs its working fine but if i target it to donut or eclair its showing MISSING SHARED LIBRARY - com.google.maps. Initially it was not installing on to the device itself, showing INSTALL FAILED MISSING SHARED LIBRARY but i overcame with it by removing the "uses-library" line in the manifest file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a small and simple android app. I tried installing it on an actual android device. But because it won't install, I created an AVD resembling my phone. I tried copying and installing app on that AVD and it still says that error. "Application xxx could not be installed on this phone".
Before I tried installing my app on the phone or AVD I following steps:
1. Exported an unsigned copy of application onto my hard-drive.
2. User jarsigner to sign the app
3. Verified with jarsigner that my app is signed properly.
4. Used zipalign to optimize the app resources.
I do not have an icon assigned to myapp but mandatory properties like version etc. have been specified properly.
I had initially developed app using 2.1 version but because of compatability issues with my phone I reverted code to compile on 1.5 and it still doesn't get installed either on AVD or my phone.
My AVD is on 2.1 though and code is compiled with 1.5.
Is there a place where I can see the logs as to why app is not getting installed.

I'm usin sony xperia tipo dual st21i2. Two days back I have rooted my mobile using unlockroot. Yesterday i was trying to install custom ROM, for that i booted my mobile in recovery mode using install.bat. In recovery mode took back up and wiped data and cache then installed the zip file(ST21i JBMP5.zip) from SD card and rebooted. Now the mobile got stuck with the screen showing JB MINIPROJECT and a circle was revolving in anticlockwise around the number 10. I pulled the battery and tried to boot in recovery mode but no use. whatever i do the mobile stuck with the same screen.

I've got an HTC One & I've already unlocked the bootloader but had to give the computer I was using up before I could install recovery or SU. SO, is there any possible way to get a recovery onto my One without a computer? Then I can just flash a rooted ROM. I am also still S-ON.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI want to install Cyanogenmod and root my Nexus 7 2013, but I don't know what I should do to backup.
I previously tried to root and install CM on my Motorola Atrix HD on AT&T and successfully rooted it, unlocked the bootloader, and installed Clockwork Mod. I made sure to click backup and proceeded to delete the version of Android on the device and install Cyanogenmod. Cyanogenmod did not successfully install and I wanted to restore my device back to it the backup I made. It said that it did it successfully, but the device gets stuck on the AT&T logo when booting up and doesn't go past that.
I don't want to have to go through the same trouble with my Nexus 7 not being able to restore back to a backup in case something goes wrong. I'm using the Nexus Root Toolkit on my PC and will probably use the Cyanogenmod installer for installing CM11 (if there are any drawbacks to using the installer). What should I use to backup my device and how would I restore it back to stock if something goes wrong? And if I have a bricked device, how can I flash it back to stock?

Anyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts.So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing.However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself.Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?
