Motorola Droid X :: Can't Revert Back To Back Up - Stuck In Bootloop
Sep 4, 2010I'm roooted. I downloaded bootstrap and the first thing i did was create a nandroid back up for my x. then i proceeded to try and install tranquility rom. it got stuck in a bootloop. so when i rebooted into recovery it now goes for some reason to the droid stock recovery and i can't revert back to my back up. what do i do?!

May 2, 2010I downloaded Helix launchers 1 and 2 and the first one was compatible with my eris however on the info in the second on it said it will have a FC if it isn't compatible with your phone and its apparently not with my eris... but it won't stop force closing so I can't get to anything there is just a blank black screen in the background and the FC thing pops up a second after I click force close.what in the world do I do?

Jan 6, 2010Anyone have a problem with prediction getting stuck in web browsers (default Browser and Dolphin)? When I try to enter a URL like "www.youtube.com" into the search/go form, the prediction will pop up and stop at "www." or sometimes "www.y" with no option for me to use the URL that I typed. So if I hit the Go button, I end up Google searching "www." since "www." isn't a valid URL.

Jan 3, 2010I noted that people have mentioned getting stuck in 1xRTT, but today is the first time that it happened to me. (I've had the Eris since 6 Nov '09, and have the Dec 11th OTA update)I live in an area with good EVDO service (4 bars / -73 dBm), so I don't think signal fade is the issue. The only thing that I can remember being out of the ordinary when it happened to me was that I was on a voice call and purposely tried to surf the web (I didn't know whether WiFi was on - it wasn't - and I didn't check first.)
Afterwards, I couldn't get it out of 1xRTT - toggling "airplane mode" or toggling the HTC Mobile Network (or WiFi) widgets didn't seem to have any effect. I sort of just "left it" for nearly a full day, and it never showed EVDO any time I checked. Even stranger is that when I finally rebooted it, it didn't solve the problem.For that (first) reboot, I had both Mobile Network and WiFi toggled on - and the phone came up in 1xRTT. I turned off the WiFi (using the HTC widget) and rebooted - and the phone came up immediately in EVDO.
For those of you that have experienced the problem, do you remember anything specific that seems to have triggered it? Was use of WiFi somehow involved?

May 1, 2010I plugged my Eris into a two way audio jack to play music through a friend's car stereo, but when I removed the jack, it went into headset mode and I have no idea how to get rid of it. I don't own a headset and as such, cannot talk to or hear anyone I call or who is calling me now. I have scoured the net for answers but the only thing I found was an outdated app that will not work on the phone. Is there anyway to get my phone off headset mode. Jul 19, 2010Today I plugged my phone into my car stereo to listen to pandora.When I unplugged it the headphone icon turned into a headset icon.I have no headset and now it's stuck in headset mode.I cannot hear anyone who calls me, or talk to them.I did a quick search for this problem and found some response that suggested it had to do with the hearing aid function in call setting, but when I went into call setting, the hearing aid option was turned off. I've tried powering down and restarting but that did nothing.I'm running a rooted version of 2.1, i don't remember which one but it based on the last leaked version of 2.1.

Jun 13, 2010I took a long flight and put my phone in airplane mode. I got off the plane and it bounced out fine sent some texts and a call. The phone died that evening and has been stuck in airplane since the recharge. Will not go out of airplane and continually force closes com.android.phone. I'm in an area with extended network. If it makes a difference I'm on the 2.1 rooted version. Need Help. spending the summer in alaska working at a youth camp and this is kind of a pain with limited computer access and a messed up phone. Any help is appreciated.

Jun 22, 2010My Eris is always getting stuck on the screen with the 3 skateboarding droid dudes. Here's the story of what happened and what i have done so far. I have an unrooted Droid Eris, OS 2.1 OTA been working quite well for the past few months now few weeks ago, my battery was suddenly drained for no apparent reason (it was idle), no programs were running in the back at all it went back to normal after i turned it off and charged it. It happened again to day and when i tried to turn it back on, i got stuck on the 3 skateboarding droids. So i tried battery pull, x123121 didn't work. i did the "hold vol+send+power", -recovery: it gives me this red triangle with exclamation point, i only found errors regarding this on rooted phones while on this screen, i pressed vol up+power, and tried all the option there and nothing worked, it still gets stuck on the skateboarding droids then i held the "vol+send+power" and tried all the other options there, and it stuck on same screen.

Sep 29, 2010Both of the stickers - the one on my phone, and the one on the battery still have red X's. I have read that this is good. I dropped my phone in a toilet (recently flushed thank god) in the Staten Island Ferry Terminal (see, nothing good comes of traveling to SI!) and grabbed it out as soon as I saw it. I had a plastic case on the back of it. Took it apart as soon as I got my wits about me. And no, I wasn't using it - It flew out of my backpack when I turned around.
It will turn on but has this odd boot up screen. I don't believe rice will get the water out of the inside, and I don't have a screw driver tiny enough. If I bring it to the Verizon store will they know it had water damage from the screen alone? It looks normal almost like the DOS blue screen of death sort. Also, the little tiny green sticker in the lower right hand corner that says VOID - is that a water damage indicator too? I don't recall ever caring what it was.

Jan 16, 2010my Eris this morning and was greeted by 5-8 force close notifications for what seems like all of my critical processes. My status bar shows that I have no reception, and my lock screen says I'm in Airplane mode, but if I hold the End button down, it says AP mode is off. If I try to go into my wireless settings, Settings will FC. If I bring up the dialer, that will FC. If I click my Wireless Network toggle widget, then Sense will FC. Everything is FUBAR. I can't think of any recently installed applications that might have caused the problem... aside from the latest OTA patch. This was the first time my phone has been powered off since installing the latest OTA.

Oct 31, 2010I think I might be in serious trouble here. I'm new to smartphones in general and wanted to root my Evo so that I could get rid of that annoying bloatware and maybe find some cool functionality.I'm new to forums too, but I did dig through a ton before I posted this and didn't see a solution to my problem.I used unrevoked 3 to root the phone. Worked fine. Tried to install Fresh through Rom Manager, but couldn't get it to flash by installing from sd card. Sort of abandoned that and moved on to Bugless Beast. I downloaded that to my computer transferred to my phone and tried "install from sd card" again. No luck, it just gave me the startup screen "htc evo 4g" and stayed on.I used nandroid to restore to my previous settings with no problem. I decided to partition the hardrive and try to flash bugless beast again. This would have been fine, but I didn't realize that partitioning removed the clockwise back up file.So, now I don't have anything to restore back to and it is stuck on the "htc evo 4g" screen.I can still get into the hboot, so its not a total loss yet.

General :: SD Card Freezes Phone / Stuck When Trying To Back It Up
May 14, 2013Just this night I've been using my sdcard in a normal way, browsing internet, downloading files when suddenly my phone couldn't boot after flashing bootanimation (zip made by trusted developer so that's not the problem). Now when I connect my SD Card to the phone it will either say "preparing sdcard" forever or just simply freeze phone after few seconds. I tryed to connect it via working adapter with my PC to back it up... After copying few files sdcards unmounts from the reader... I've tryed on XP and it shows some command errors while trying to copy files in a regular way. I was ONCE able to flash few zips via recovery in order to make my phone boot up again it worked. Now I'm scanning my SD Card using Norton Internet security 2013 - Paid version - not cracked, and the sdcard seems to stay mounted to the PC. Unfortunately after trying to copy files from SD Card to PC it just freezes explorer.exe and unmounts itself...
I really have some important pictures on this sd card
PS. 32 GB SanDisk Class 10 UHS-I (grey and red one)
PS. 2 I was using swap partition, maybe my sdcard went dead from constant reads and writes?
PS. 3 Using linux I managed to copy 81 MB... then any copying froze but ubuntu didn't...

My question is, can a Verizon rep flash the phone back to stock software? I originally had an issue with my phone and the rep at the store flashed my phone with the stock software and I basically started from day one all over again.
