I rooted my Eris the other day and everything works great. But today I tried connecting it to my computer and it doesn't give the option to mount as a disk drive.Only charge and HTC Sync.The computer doesn't recognize as a drive either.I used the latest version of Xtrsense as my rom.Am I missing some sort of drivers or settings?

I have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook).To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. Now I'm getting a message on my PC saying the USB Device is not recognized. I've tried scouring the web for more info, but only came up with noobs who didn't know to click the mounting option in the notification bar. Why my phone cannot connect to my PC all of the sudden?

My PC won't recognize my Droid Eris and vice-versa. It used to recognize it sporadically, but now it's not recognizing it at all. Null. Zero. Nada.
The USB option is not coming up in my notification bar, so I don't have any option to tap "mount" and the few times my laptop did recognize it, all I got was "USB Device Not Recognized". The only reason I even know the plug works is because when I plug it in, the phone starts charging.
Here's what I've done so far trying to solve the problem:
- I've gone into Device Manager and tried updating drivers with no luck
- I've uninstalled/reinstalled HTC Sync with no luck
- I've rebooted both the phone and the PC several times with no luck
- I've enabled "disk drive" option under default connection type with no luck
And I know everyone's going to point out that there are a dozen or more threads dedicated to this topic, but all those are either
A) because someone didn't know to tap "mount"... or
B) Have gone so off-topic that the thread is irrelevant by this point
So has anyone found a solve to this problem yet?
Note: I'm rooted and I have leaked 2.1 installed. But this has been going on even with 1.5 before rooting.
I have my home wireless set up with WEP and it automatically connects. However, when I get to a place with open wireless how do I connect to it? The SSID does not show up so even if I go to add a new wireless connection it asks for the SSID and I have no way of knowing. Am I missing something very simple?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI re-flashed evil eris 4 today, & before I did I wiped data/factory then wiped dalvic. When I rebooted & got to the set up screen(set up google account ect.) the wifi worked! so I hit the toggle,& turned it off to make sure the 3G worked. Ever since then I cannot connect to my home wifi.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Droid Eris with celb froyo 3.3. Before this I had kaosfroyo v34. Before I rooted my phone I was able to connect to my PC, then, a few months later I couldn't. This was all before I rooted my phone. Then I rooted it on my parents computer and put kaos on it, and it started to work for a day then quit the next time I connected it to their computer. It even connected to my computer. I have no "connect PC" option in my settings. No USB notification in my notifications on my phone and PC says USB device not recognize. All my USBs are good bcuz my keyboard and mouse work fine.

I'll get the "WiFi Networks Available" toolbar notice, select my home network, but then nothing happens, and it doesn't connect. When my home network is listed under the WiFi setting menu, the radio signal Icon says it has solid signal strength, but still, after I hit "Connect" nothing happens. Thus, I get stuck using 3G when WiFi capabilities were one of my main attractions to the phone :S. Again, the WiFi was fully functional (Outlook Exchange included) until recently.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe're a 3 HTC Droid household. 2 of the units haven't had a problem with WiFi, before or after the upgrade. The third unit was connecting fine before the upgrade, but since it's been having issues. It 'sees' the networks (one open, one protected), but when you try to connect to either, it flashes 'Connecting', then quietly returns to the screen, without actually connecting. The settings seem to be the same between the units (wifi enabled and non-airplane). I've rebooted the unit and the router, re-entered the SSID multiple times (although the open network doesn't work either) with no luck.

It works with everything else except the eris. my xbox 360, nintendo wii, macbook pro, and multiple windows computers all work fine. My itouch connects to it nd so do all my other friend's android phones. I know my wifi on my phone works because I can use it on any other network. It seems to me that the wifi driver (do phones have drivers) needs to be updated. Is this possible?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Vista 64 bit laptop. Got a droid eris 2 weeks ago or so. First time I ever wanted to connect my computer and phone I tried a bunch of things but each time, phone kept saying it was mounting but then would never do it. But under settings/SD it knew it was mounted b/c of card size, etc., showing up and "Unmount" was selectable. Did lots of things, kept trying, eventually when I tried out the sync feature found out I didn't have HTC sync on my computer, which it said it needed, so I installed that and then tried to mount again and then it worked! I viewed my files, moved some pics around, etc.
Now I go to mount again and the same thing is wrong, won't connect at all. Tried mounting, unmounting, power cycling, using device manager on my laptop, even took out the card and put it back in, safely removing hardware, back and forth and on and on. Computer knows it's plugged in because it shows up as drive F but when you click on it once it is "mounted" (though I don't think it actually is mounted) - the computer says "please insert disk into drive f". I have USB 2.0 and I got it to work once, I don't understand what is wrong this time!
I have the recently released 2.1 update. Could someone point me in the right direction for rooting my phone as well as how to unlock the ability to connect to an ad hoc network? I know Its possible with rooted phones.

I'm getting a HTC Eris OS 1.5 in not getting it through Verizon i plan to flash to Cricket. I know i can get talk/ text/ mms/ Wap. I was wondering if it was possible to have it connect to Google Maps and Market as i heard it may not be possible. Any fix yet? Any solutions?
Also i want to upgrade the OS to 2.1 since i dont have Verizon would it be best i upgrade it myself by placing the Zip in to SD Card and updating through there.
Would updating the OS interfere wit it being flashed to Cricket? Which should i do first? OS upgrade or Flash to Cricket?
I tried searching, but was unsucessful in finding an answer. My Eris, and now the replacement Eris sent by Verizon, will not connect to our Panasonic KX-TH1212 home phone system. It worked fine before the upgrade to 2.1 and my wife's Droid still works fine with it.The Eris will pair with the KX-TH1212, but will not connect; I've tried it multiple times with both Eris phones.The KX-TH1212 requires a passcode (0000) to pair. After failing to connect, the Eris only provides one option (unpair) in the long press menu.The Droid has three options (connect, unpair, and don't remember this one).I would appreciate any help or similar experiences to fix this issue.

In the notifications bar it has the 3G icon, and I'm able to use the browser without any troubles. Also, in the Google Maps app that comes with the phone, I don't see any map. I just see a grid with a blue circle with "Your Location" in the center. I'm was at the Verizon store yesterday because whenever I tried to call someone it said that my phone wasn't authenticated, and when I mentioned these two particular problems, he said that once my phone was authenticated everything should work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI know wi-fi has been mentioned but no one seems to really know. Is there anyone out there who knows why I cannot connect to my wi-fi at home? I have a mac address filter on my router and I put in the correct mac address of my Eris more than once as well and the security settings. I was able to connect my Nintendo DSi with no problem. So when I set up my wi-fi connection, it says it's not in range but remembered. At my job I was able to connect to the wi-fi with no problem. Could it be something with my router? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or clues.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my wifi not connecting. I have to AP's in my house, on different channels. They work perfectly fine. I have the wifi toggle setting on the home screen that I usually press to toggle the wifi on/off. Recently, it hasn't been working after I disconnect from 3G and connect to wifi. It says the wifi is turned on, but it won't connect to either of the remembered APs. The only way to get it to automatically connect is to go to settings and view the list of APs. Only then will it connect to one of the two APs. This is really annoying, as it seemed to only start this recently and nothing has changed. My wifi sleep policy is never to turn off. It's a droid eris with 2.1 OTA. Ran a virus scan, nothing. Any ideas?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since flashing the 2.1 leaks (V1 and then V2), I have not been able to connect to my university's WPA2-enterprise wireless network. After I enter my login info (the network uses PEAP with MSCHAPv2, so it doesn't need any certificates), the phone connects as expected and gets a valid IP address, verifiable with netcfg. Before any traffic is allowed to pass to the outside world, however, the device connecting has to go to an authentication page in a browser. When I attempt to go to that page, I get an error titled "Data Connectivity Problem" that states "A secure connection could not be established" which only presents an option to acknowledge the error.
Since I can't load that authentication page, the network is entirely unusable. I did not encounter this problem with 1.5, but since I'm running the V2 leak, reverting is not an option.Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? I can't identify if the problem is in the actual link not being established properly (seems unlikely, as the phone is given an IP address, but perhaps the PEAP layer is having some sort of issue?) or if it has to do with the SSL certificates used for the network authentication page (they're signed, but I'm fairly certain that the name if the site they're signed for is not the name that they've given the new auth server).
I have been able to pair my Droid Eris with my Acura TL, but I am unable to download my phonebook or connect to Acuralink. Anyone have any experience with this and found a way to make it happen?

The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.
