HTC Eris :: Rooted With Froyo 3.3 - Unable To Connect To PC

Oct 30, 2010

I have a rooted Droid Eris with celb froyo 3.3. Before this I had kaosfroyo v34. Before I rooted my phone I was able to connect to my PC, then, a few months later I couldn't. This was all before I rooted my phone. Then I rooted it on my parents computer and put kaos on it, and it started to work for a day then quit the next time I connected it to their computer. It even connected to my computer. I have no "connect PC" option in my settings. No USB notification in my notifications on my phone and PC says USB device not recognize. All my USBs are good bcuz my keyboard and mouse work fine.

HTC Eris :: Unable To Connect To PC With USB

Apr 17, 2010

I used to be able to connect my Droid Eris to my PC with a USB cable and the option in the notification bar to Mount would pop up. Now I'm getting a message on my PC saying the USB Device is not recognized. I've tried scouring the web for more info, but only came up with noobs who didn't know to click the mounting option in the notification bar. Why my phone cannot connect to my PC all of the sudden?

HTC Droid Eris :: Bluetooth Pairs But Unable To Connect

Jul 9, 2010

I tried searching, but was unsucessful in finding an answer. My Eris, and now the replacement Eris sent by Verizon, will not connect to our Panasonic KX-TH1212 home phone system. It worked fine before the upgrade to 2.1 and my wife's Droid still works fine with it.The Eris will pair with the KX-TH1212, but will not connect; I've tried it multiple times with both Eris phones. The KX-TH1212 requires a passcode (0000) to pair. After failing to connect, the Eris only provides one option (unpair) in the long press menu. The Droid has three options (connect, unpair, and don't remember this one).I would appreciate any help or similar experiences to fix this issue.

HTC Droid Eris :: Unable To Connect Wifi At Home / Why Is This?

Dec 1, 2009

I know wi-fi has been mentioned but no one seems to really know. Is there anyone out there who knows why I cannot connect to my wi-fi at home? I have a mac address filter on my router and I put in the correct mac address of my Eris more than once as well and the security settings. I was able to connect my Nintendo DSi with no problem. So when I set up my wi-fi connection, it says it's not in range but remembered. At my job I was able to connect to the wi-fi with no problem. Could it be something with my router? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or clues.

HTC Eris :: Froyo On Rooted Eris

Sep 4, 2010

I've seen videos on youtube where someone has rooted an eris and put froyo 2.2 on the phone. The question I have is if you can root the eris if its already been upgraded to 2.1 and if you can how in depth is it. Where would you go to get the program and is it as easy as the videos up for rooting with 2.1 from 1.5.

HTC Droid Eris :: Unable To Connect To Campus WiFi (WPA2 Wireless Network)

Apr 28, 2010

Ever since flashing the 2.1 leaks (V1 and then V2), I have not been able to connect to my university's WPA2-enterprise wireless network. After I enter my login info (the network uses PEAP with MSCHAPv2, so it doesn't need any certificates), the phone connects as expected and gets a valid IP address, verifiable with netcfg. Before any traffic is allowed to pass to the outside world, however, the device connecting has to go to an authentication page in a browser. When I attempt to go to that page, I get an error titled "Data Connectivity Problem" that states "A secure connection could not be established" which only presents an option to acknowledge the error.

Since I can't load that authentication page, the network is entirely unusable. I did not encounter this problem with 1.5, but since I'm running the V2 leak, reverting is not an option.Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? I can't identify if the problem is in the actual link not being established properly (seems unlikely, as the phone is given an IP address, but perhaps the PEAP layer is having some sort of issue?) or if it has to do with the SSL certificates used for the network authentication page (they're signed, but I'm fairly certain that the name if the site they're signed for is not the name that they've given the new auth server).

HTC Desire :: Rooted Stock HTC Froyo

Sep 4, 2010

I've uploaded a pre-rooted version of HTC's latest ROM. This is basically stock with root, except I've disabled the annoying boot sound. It includes radio 5.09.05.30_2.To install you must be rooted with custom recovery. A full wipe shouldn't be necessary if you're currently on an official rom, since this isn't modified from stock. Do a nandroid backup before you install. There's no changelog from 2.09.405.8, but I've noticed my GPS problems went away.

HTC EVO 4G :: Unable To Flash Any Rom On Rooted Evo

Nov 12, 2010

So I've successfully obtained root using the beautiful unrevoked3 application, and have proceeded to try and flash hboot down to 0.76.2000, but am unable. I'm using ROM Manager with ClockworkMod, and every attempt leads to the screen flashing code for a few moments, and going right into the ClockworkMod Recovery main menu. It's not just hboot that will not flash, I am also unable to flash anything else including the radio (which does the same exact flashing code / Clockwork main menu) and even CyanogenMod which gives an error that seemingly indicates hboot is not at the right version. I'm not sure exactly where to look, anyone have any ideas, something I might be missing?

HTC Desire :: Unable To Connect To Open Wi-Fi

Aug 9, 2010

I'm new to all this wifi stuff. I have no problems connecting my Desire to my wifi at home, which is great. But at work (or at least in the vicinity of my office) there is an open wifi point. I have now tried on several occasions to connect to it, but it always fails. It gets as far as trying to get the IP address then nothing happens until the connection fails. Then it starts trying to connect again, but it gets stuck every time on getting the IP address. This would not concern me if it weren't for the fact that other work colleagues (one of whom also has a Desire) have managed to connect without a problem. I've moved over to where those people work, in case it was a pure location thing, but still no success. Is there something obvious that I've missed on this? Or anything that I could try? Obviously I'd like not to have to use my data allowance while at work if at all possible.

HTC Desire :: Unable To Connect To Server

Jun 29, 2010

I've been trying to get streaming media working on my desire and it doesn't work. I know vodafone are blocking RTSP at the moment but i'm concentrating on wifi at the moment. I know the streams are live (using m.tvcatchup.com) as I can open the link in VLC but whenever I load it on mobile i get 'unable to connect to server'. i've reset the firmware (unbranded) several times and it makes no difference. packet captures show the desire tries to setup the stream but never receives any RTP data. is anyone having the same problems - i've asked HTC support but they seem to think everything means the phone is faulty and want to swap it at every given chance. I'm wondering if in this case it actually might be?

HTC EVO 4G :: Unable To Connect To 4G / Settings Grayed Out

Oct 9, 2010

I recently received a replacement EVO to replace one that got wet through the Best Buy insurance program thingy. Anyway it is a brand new EVO but it will not connect to 4G. My wife has an EVO as well and sitting side by side hers connects and mine will not. If you go to Wireless and Networks settings the setting titled 4G is grayed out and says turning on underneath but it never changes. You cannot tick the check box.The next setting is titled 4G settings and when you click it ALL the options are grayed out and none of the check boxes ca be ticked.Like I said I know we have 4G coverage as my wife's phone is getting it fine. Also if you go to About Phone in the settings and look at hardware information it lists 4G MAC address as unavailable. Any ideas or similar problems out there? Could I have turned something on or off that is stopping the 4G radio?
