Just turned my phone on and I have a notification on my phone saying the SD is blank, and gives me an option to format it? The notification reads: "SD card blank or has unsupported file system". Anyone know what wrong? I don't even have the option to mount it to my PC, just charge and sync.

I got a new 16gb card. I plugged it into my hero and it displayed 14gb out of 16gb, so I hit the format SD card on my hero, and now the hero gives a notification "blank SD card", if I push it, it asks me if I want to format, so I hit format and nothing happens, how do I know if its formatting? does it tell me when its done?

Do I have the wrong card in there. Its the stock 8gb. It doesn't. Let me download any Apps. that require SD permission. What do I do because I really want to keep this ROM.
View 2 Replies View Relatedtoday I put my sd card into my sd card reader to throw some photos on to my computer. After I was done i put the sd card back into my droid and booted it up. After booting I get a notification saying my SD card is blank, so I turn off the phone and pull the battery out. When I grabbed my SD card it burnt my hand "literally" it was that hot... Wtf?!?! I put the SD card back in the reader and the computer doesnt even see the card. Idk if anyone has heard of a similar problem b4 and knows a fix...Thanks in advance! Side Note; I work at a cell phone repair store, so I put the sd card in two other blackberry's and they say "your sd card needs to be formated or it is corrupt". I put other sd cards into my phone and i have no problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday afternoon, the notification bar stated my SD card was damaged. This was out of the clear blue, no errors?nothing missing from the widgets. I tried using the file manager on the phone and it would open some folders, but not all of them. I popped the card out and inserted into the adapter card to read on my laptop. Windows 7 said that it was not responding after trying to read the card 3 times. On the fourth time I was able to right click and pull up the properties and tools. I performed a scanerror check. It found and fixed the 3 problems. The .data, download and Camera folders were corrupted.
What does that mean?.Well, the download folder included images I had downloaded and uploaded to my phone. So I just had to gather the images again. The Camera folder is a mystery. Images were stored in another folder (DCIM)?this had nothing in it and was added after the OTA. The biggest pain was the third folder; the .data file contained all the animation for Beautiful Widgets. I had to uninstall & reinstall BW home?along with all the animation which was a separate download once you add the BW Home to your screen. BW installed fine, however the animation won?t download?it sits @ 0/100%. I have even tried turning on the Wi-Fi with no successful of a download. With all the other quirks since the OTA, I may just keep BW uninstalled. I don?t use any of the other widgets?.and now with full screen weather animation?I may not go back.
My 16GB SD card is now saying it is a Blank SD card , when I select to format, it says " External Media in Unknown State'. I tried formating it with an other phone and connected to into a card reader, but it doesn't even read it.

When I try to access the card via my PC it just wants to format it but when I bring up the format window the PC only sees 30MB and a format of FAT. The Properties show it formatted as RAW. The Error Notification I get is: Blank SD Card - SD Card blank or has unsupported file system. Is my card fried or is there a way out of this?

Everytime I turn on my phone I get a new blank from anonymous that sits on my SD card; I know its on my SD card because there's a logo of an SD card on the text bubble. Even if I delete it, it will reappear. Even if I try black list it will reappear. The date of the text message used to be consistently the same as well as the same time until today. Where are texts held on the sd card?
View 14 Replies View RelatedSo recently I obtained a new 16 GB micro SD card which worked fine with my previous phone and typically worked well with my Galaxy SII as well, but when I went to transfer files from my computer to the card I ran into an issue. After all the files we're transferred it all seemed fine, but shortly afterward I ran into a blank SD card notification and was prompt to format via phone, which managed to format successfully. So then I went through the process again, this time putting nearly everything through a file converter before transferring. Again, everything seemed fine until a short while later when I have a blank card and prompt to format yet again. And like before the formatting seemed to work fine.
And to provide a bit more information that may be relevant, since our computer doesn't seem to play nice with my SD card (no window pops up after inserting and when attempting to read the card via My Computer it simply locks up and becomes unresponsive) when I transferred the files I did so through having my old phone plugged in with the card inserted and managed to get to it that way. With the second attempt I just used my current phone instead with hopes that it would work better that way. Unfortunately the same issue occurred as mentioned above.
So that pretty much covers it. If I had to guess it would seem that a hiccup is occurring with the transfer process that makes the card appear blank shortly afterward. Would be nice to find a way to prevent this from happening again.

What I think broke it was the NEW SD CARD storage optimizer by Kalyani, I opened it up after downloading off the android market and used a feature called file explorer. It took forever to read all the files on my card and eventually I closed it out before its completion and immediately noticed my sd card is now inaccesable.
Is that error fixable or should I throw out the card?
So I put my 32gb lexar sd card into my Samsung galaxy discover and my phone said the sd card was blank and it needed to be formatted so I tried to format it but it froze my phone I had to pull the battery out then when I tried to turn it on it just gets stuck at the logo screen.

What happens is that he put some music on his phone, and with the program Ringdroid, began to cut some songs. Then, the phone began to crash, he restarted it. After restarting, the device didn't recognize the memory, saying "Blank sd card or unsupported system", occasionally rebooting, indicates that it was removed. I have looked in other threads and google it, but found nothing useful. I can't unmount or format it from the phone. And as I have the G1, I put my card (that works) on Milestone and got the same problem, so I think it's not the SD. I've already formatted it, nothing.

(I'm in IT - I understand people make simple mistakes.)Every time she power cycles the phone, specifically when it powers up - it sends a blank text message to one of her contacts, the same one every time. Alright call me cheap, but I only have the $5 250 messages on my plan but it suits me just fine I never go over.Well i just got my bill and wouldnt you know I went over by almost double. Turns out more often then I thought I was sending blank texts and double texts. People weren't saying anything to me because they thought that it was just user error but when it kept happening people finally started saying something to me.Its not worth trying to argue with verizon over it, its like $14, so I will just up my plan a bit, but just watch it.For some of you its moot because you have unlimited, but for those that dont just thought I would share.

It kept closing something I xouldnt see and caused me issue. I went from 5 resets a day to 5 days and no reset. I now use task manager 1.11.9 with 0 issues.

Is the phone faulty or is there some setting that I can change. I downloaded ChompSMS hoping that would fix it, but it doesn't appear to. When I open my text messaging program, many times it will send a blank text to the last person I texted. The other day, I turned the phone off and turned it back on and it sent a blank text at the exact time I turned it on.

I sold my Nokia E71 and bought a Malaysian Hero (they're not available in NZ) and flashed a rooted generic firmware onto it. Very happy with the phone overall.I have a question though, I'm getting a sim card notification on the top bar thing and a blank notification entry in the pull down list. Clicking it doesn't do anything. The manual doesn't say what this means and I've found another person on XDA-Developers with the same thing. They are with the same carrier as me, Vodafone NZ.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHad a behold II about two weeks and love the phone only one problem, every so often it gives me a notification (makes same noise as a text) saying preparing external SD card. The phone isn't plugged into anything and has no other problems it used to only happen a couple times a day now it is happening every 3-4 minutes and is getting pretty annoying. I looked through the options and can't find a way to make it stop giving me the notification noise for this. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this stop its getting aggravating.

Well I'm having the same problem with my new B2...The phone is disconnecting and connecting on its own consistantly. And it keeps sending me notifications. I've tried 3 different SD cards all with the same result. Eventually it will erase all card data and tell me the card is damaged. Anyone else with this problem? Should I go with the G1 or Mytouch?

I rebooted to the same ROM and Kernel, and I recieved the same message. I just Rebooted to Clockwork in order to flash to a nandroid backup that I had, but there were no backups there..... and when I went to choose a zip file and there werent any there... what should I do??
