HTC Droid Eris :: How To Get Back To Default Homepage?
Jan 24, 2010I was on my homepage when a prompt popped up. Before reading it I had selected the choice to make it my default homepage. Now the only things showing is the Google search prompt and s pull tab on the bottom of my screen to display my apps. I have tried to change scenes but it doesn't work!

Jan 25, 2010I just upgraded to HTC Magic from Vodafone UK and I love it, but I seem to have a problem with the calendar app. When I load it I just get a blank (white) screen. The context menu button had no effect (apart from greying out for a few seconds) and I just have to exit the application. As I have always had Nokia before now I assumed that the app would still load a calendar and allow me to add appointments, to-do's, alarms etc.I have NOT tried to synch with Google as I use Outlook and was hoping to synch with that. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the Calendar?

Dec 13, 2009I'm writing this for my girlfriend, but I have observed it first hand I'm not just going on her word. (I'm in IT - I understand people make simple mistakes.)Every time she power cycles the phone, specifically when it powers up - it sends a blank text message to one of her contacts, the same one every time. Needless to say *her ex* is getting tired of it.Since the recent update it's now sending blank messages to 2 of her contacts. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I help diagnose the issue?

Dec 16, 2009On one of the home screens or scenes, whatever, i had put the 30 day month view HTC calendar widget. it synced with the Google calendar just fine and there was a little triangle in the upper left corner of the box for the days that had an event. however, they only stay once i reload the widget. and after a little while they go away, but if i pick a day, my events are still there. i really like that the little triangle. how do i make it stay? is there another app or widget that will allow a full month view with the little triangle or similar mark for days with events?

Jun 18, 2010Tried doing a search to no avail as I thought I had saw something on this a week or so ago. I am new here and keep having issues with my Eris. I stopped using a task killer as different ones I have tried tend to eat my battery. At any rate things were fine until today when I noticed that when I click on manage apps and view running apps things like Ebay and MP3 music store are running after reboot. I have forced closed them and when I go back into view the running apps they are still showing up. Why aren't they closing? They used to before today.

Jun 1, 2010Recently whenever I plug my phone into the charger or a mini USB cable it won't stay connected unless I hold it there. Would this be due to the cable or the actual plug on the bottom of the phone coming loose?
I had this happen with an LG Chocolate before and had to get it replaced.

Feb 25, 2010I need a new calender or I need help figuring out whats wrong with my htc calender. Everytime I go to the page with my calender on it, all the days with events go blank and I have to scroll down to the next month and back up for them to appear.

Aug 23, 2010This is my work issued HTC Droid Eris. 100% bone stock factory everything, no root, no flashing, nothing (not even really sure what all that stuff is anyway). Yesterday got the phone off the charger, hit the power button to start up. Phone vibrated and the three skateboarding droids came up as usual and there the phone stayed. Pulled the battery, tried again and same thing, locking up on the three skating droids.
Next I did power+vol down. It goes right to the fastboot, recovery, clear storage, simlock menu. I selected recovery and hit power. Phone vibrates and the three skating droids pop back up for about 5-10 seconds and the I get a picture of a Droid Eris with a red triangle and exclamation mark over it. From this screen I hit power+vol up. This gets me the Android System Recovery menu with Reboot System Now, Apply sdcard: update.zip, Wipe Data / Factory Reset, Wipe cache partition. Down at the bottom, in yellow letters it says "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command" So I select Wipe Data / Factory Reset and hit power. "confirm wipe of all user data?" Yes, does it's thing for a couple minutes. "Data wipe complete" and Android System Recovery menu comes back up. Select Reboot System Now and hit power.
Now the phone reboots, white screen with three skating droids still locked up on that screen. After noticing the "Apply sdcard:update.zip" menu option I downloaded the July 2010 OTA from here. I put it in the root folder of my sd card and the selected "Apply sdcard:update.zip". It started the install from sd card and after just a couple seconds pops up and says "E:signature verification failed Installation aborted." So my phone is still locked up on the skating droids.

Jul 31, 2010i am having an issue that just recently started.when i get a text message with an image attached i can open and view the pict but it only stays open for a few seconds then disappears.this is very frustrating.I never had this problem before it just started recently.I really like my phone, but my patience is running thin.

Alright call me cheap, but I only have the $5 250 messages on my plan but it suits me just fine I never go over.Well i just got my bill and wouldnt you know I went over by almost double. Turns out more often then I thought I was sending blank texts and double texts. People weren't saying anything to me because they thought that it was just user error but when it kept happening people finally started saying something to me.Its not worth trying to argue with verizon over it, its like $14, so I will just up my plan a bit, but just watch it.For some of you its moot because you have unlimited, but for those that dont just thought I would share.

May 11, 2010I'm having a problem with my Driod Eris. It's moving on its own, if I unlock the screen it starts to move to the left and stays there. I try to scroll over it moves back I press the home button and it does the same thing. I've tried powering down taking the battery put nothing seem to work.

Jun 26, 2010The Eris has been a good phone for me except the mentioned issues. The fix the worked for me was to remove the appollo software task manager. It kept closing something I xouldnt see and caused me issue. I went from 5 resets a day to 5 days and no reset. I now use task manager 1.11.9 with 0 issues.

Jul 25, 2010my eris is slow....i've got task killer pro and use it often...texting just one person takes forever..to the point where i'd much rather hook up to pdanet and text from my computer....when i try to load it up..it takes a minute to load up...try to type..it takes a minute to fully load so i can start typing..which normally ends up in all caps or symbols and i have to erase and type it all over again..cause it finally caught up...then sending it..it has loading...that takes forever..then for it to finally pop up on the screen takes another long time...
My eris normally runs with 64 memory when i do task killer..thats about the average...this is like my storm all over again..without the battery pulls..

Please verify your username/password." and am absolutely/positively certain they are keyed properly.Does anyone have a fix for this?

May 22, 2010So I have a rooted Eris (checked positively using terminal emulator) running a 2.1v3 ROM. What I'd like to do is eventually get to the 2.1 OTA ROM. Earlier I downloaded ROM Manager which, after some searching gave me some problems other people have been having. I can't flash to the ClockworkMod recovery image as it gives me a "Error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!" message. I tried reinstalling, fixing permissions etc. all with the same results. So now i'm trying to flash Amon's recovery image instead using Terminal Emulator and the command line: flash_image recovery /sdcard/file_name_here.img only to yield the message that the file could not be found or something. I'm on a mac and I saw another way on here that involves running commands from your computer to your phone using the skd. I started to do that only to run into a "permission denied" when attempting the first "adb" command line. Am I missing something? I'm trying to read and re-read as closely as I can. I'm not entirely comfortable with this whole process but I'm trying to take the time to really understand it and i'm still having difficulties.

Jul 17, 2010I have a droid eris that's flashed to cricket & everything works except my apps. I searched around the forum & found Pkopaleks thread on how to finish the full flash to get working apps. The store I got my phone flashed at said it was impossible to get working apps because the apps are verizons (lies) & now I'm disappointed their not working. My question is that do all stores that flash phones root phones before the flash? If so will going to recovery mode and loading pkopaleks cricket file ruin what has already been done? Lastly if the store didn't have to root to flash how will I fix this problem?
