HTC Droid Eris :: Blank Text Messages And Double Texts
Dec 24, 2009Just a heads up about text messaging billing. Alright call me cheap, but I only have the $5 250 messages on my plan but it suits me just fine I never go over.Well i just got my bill and wouldnt you know I went over by almost double. Turns out more often then I thought I was sending blank texts and double texts. People weren't saying anything to me because they thought that it was just user error but when it kept happening people finally started saying something to me.Its not worth trying to argue with verizon over it, its like $14, so I will just up my plan a bit, but just watch it.For some of you its moot because you have unlimited, but for those that dont just thought I would share.

Sep 30, 2010I have an unlocked Rogers X10a that I use on At&t. Ive been told by a few people that when i send out texts they receive blank ones.But on my side it shows them.Has anyone else had this problem? Any way to fix it?

Dec 13, 2009I'm writing this for my girlfriend, but I have observed it first hand I'm not just going on her word. (I'm in IT - I understand people make simple mistakes.)Every time she power cycles the phone, specifically when it powers up - it sends a blank text message to one of her contacts, the same one every time. Needless to say *her ex* is getting tired of it.Since the recent update it's now sending blank messages to 2 of her contacts. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I help diagnose the issue?

Jun 26, 2010The Eris has been a good phone for me except the mentioned issues. The fix the worked for me was to remove the appollo software task manager. It kept closing something I xouldnt see and caused me issue. I went from 5 resets a day to 5 days and no reset. I now use task manager 1.11.9 with 0 issues.

Aug 9, 2010I called tech support for the third time because of an issue with my Eris not receiving texts. I spent an hour of useless troubleshooting with him having to turn my phone off and on a bunch and doing a factory reset. After that didn't fix it (surprise surprise, all that inconvenience for nothing) he tells me I'll have to have it replaced with a refurb. I told him that I don't consider a refurbished phone to be an equal replacement and I'm happy to pay a fee of some kind to get a new Eris, just like I would if I went through the insurance (cause those are new, right? if they're refurbs I'll be pissed...). He LAUGHED at me, and said "Every time a phone comes to the end of its term people call in with excuses to get the new model. This is why we don't make exceptions, or else more people like you would be calling in."

I went to the verizon store and all they said was to just take out battery, ive done that a couple times and its gotten worse. Does anyone know a way to fix it. Dec 14, 2009Having an odd problem here. I'm aware of Verizon's limit on text messaging characters but this is odd.I can send texts going beyond 160 characters but when I receive them, that's when the trouble starts. I'll get the text broken up into 2-3 separate texts, but always followed up by another message stating "Media Objects were removed...". Then, the person sending the text receives a message stating their text may have not been received. This is all between Verizon to Verizon customers.Anyone know what's going on? or how to fix it? Did not have this problem with other Verizon phones so I'm guessing it's only applying to the Droid/Eris?

Mar 16, 2010I was texting my friend last night, and suddenly she just stopped replying. I was confused but I didn't think much of it. Then, later, on facebook I was talking to her again, and she said she never got the last two texts that I tried to send. Both the stock messages app, and chompsms say they were sent (I think is there some way to check for sure). I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. Its only a few texts every so often, but it was annoying.

Jul 3, 2010so i just did factory reset, and texts wont send. SMS. get the error: SMS Error General Problems, Cause Code: 34, Error Class:2 come on, i thought factory reset was supposed to make EVERYTHING ALL BETTER you know how when sending a text, it swtiches to 1x? yeah well mines not doing that; it's staying on 3G.

Jul 19, 2010I am no newcomer to the HTC Droid Eris. Just recently my phone has deleted ALL of my text messages. I do not have a limit on how many texts I can hold in my inbox. But it has deleted all of my texts atleast 5 times in the last 2 weeks.

HTC Droid Eris :: Phone Not Dropping To 1x When Sending Texts
Feb 17, 2010Lately, not all the time, whenever I send a text, I watch the reception bar at the top and it is not dropping to 1x to send the text. In addition, some of my friends have not been receiving my texts when I send them.
Are these two things related? I swear I've seen it before where it drops to 1x to send the text, and then goes back to 3G..
I guess it's also possible that the phone is dropping to 1x, but the bar up top isn't updating?
