So, Ive been flashing new ROMS pretty often, and I am getting sick of having to re-download my apps from the market everytime, so i pose the question...
what is the best application to backup my applications?

Is it possible to backup all your apps using something like astro, copy them to your computer, compress them into a zip file, move that back to your phone and flash that after flashing a ROM to restore your apps, is this even possible or is it more complicated than that?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to flash again... right after I loaded all of the market applications that I love onto the phone.
I apologize if this is a trivial question; I'm not yet all that familiar w/ the program management on the android. But what I would like to be able to do is create a directory (be it on the sdcard, my laptop, etc) and store the install files for all of the apps that I install on this phone after every flash. This would save a tremendous amount of time bringing the phone back up to usable status after a flash. And the cat's meow would be if the configurations for these apps could be backup locally as well. Similar to a ~/.name_of_application/ directory on a linux box.
I'm poking around the file system right now, and not finding anything obvious. Would these be the files out of /system/bin?
When i click on batch, then run to backup my apps it jumps back to the Backup/Restore screen with all the apps, nothing gets backed up. I have backed up before with Titanium and it worked. I reinstalled Busybox, didn't help. If i uninstall and reinstall will i lose all the things i did like freeze apps etc ? When i try to update through the marketplace it says installation error, package file was not signed correctly.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI backed up all apps and data then I uninstalled a few of them. Now I went to reinstall them and Titanium Back up says batch restore finished but the apps are not there. They are in the TB folder on the sd card but the app is not in the app list. How do I get them back? I did do a nandroid back up immediately after rooting will that restore them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do have a pro version of the TB. And I'm trying to go thru and freeze all the bloatware, but when I hit the "freeze" button. It says "Freezing "FM Radio 1.00"..." and just sits there. I tried it with the Amazon MP3 as well, but gave up waiting after 10 minutes and rebooted. When it came up, it showed that the Amazon MP3 is frozen. Figured that it worked, but its stuck again. Am I doing something wrong? Do I really need to reboot after each freeze?

Some apps I have backedup but they won't install, is this down to the developers choosing to protect their apps or not.

The reason I ask is because I just rooted my 2.2 phone and when I did a restore using MyBackup, none of my apps on the SD card were restored. I had to reinstall them all.
I might need to reset my phone to factory settings, contacts, and calendar is with google so thats easy, but I dont want to go through and have to manually redownload all my apps AND THEN reorganize them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHad issues with install of Watermark'D theme over CM6 rom. Finally got all that sorted but had to elect to install Google Apps separately after the fact. I restored backups of all my apps through Titanium Backup except for three - Tweetdeck, Weather Channel, and Yellowbook. Titanium would not restore them - I would click on install, it would try, then come back with an installation failed message. Went to both the market directly and Appbrain and attempted to install them from there. Found them listed but when I clicked on it to install got an item not found message. Tried to install Tweetdeck from the apk and got the same message as with Titanium. Oh and have downloaded other app from market successfully. Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night rooted my phone & installed vallian 5.3. took me awhile to get it right but its working fine. however i installed my back to back up all my apps/data but iam having trouble restoring it back into my phone. I install my back up & when i hit restore, it says cannot get back up info etc...really weird as ive placed all the files back onto my sd card & i see them. this is annoying cause i even backed up export2contacts to restore my phone numbers but i need my apps restored for anything to work. really dont wanna download all of them again.
