HTC EVO 4G :: Titanium Backup - Backing Up All Apps/data
Nov 30, 2010
Many people recommend a complete data wipe between flashing roms, and i assume the preferred method of backing up all the apps/data is titanium. my first question is, when restoring all backups is there a way to not have to press "install" then "done" for every app it's restoring? like a fully automated process?

I have titanium backup pro. I want to know can I backup only apps data? I mean when titanium backup pro performs backing up are there any option to excludes apk file backup and only backup apps data?
I think it's useless backup apk files, I can download them from Google play store.

I backed up all apps and data then I uninstalled a few of them. Now I went to reinstall them and Titanium Back up says batch restore finished but the apps are not there. They are in the TB folder on the sd card but the app is not in the app list. How do I get them back? I did do a nandroid back up immediately after rooting will that restore them?

I can't figure out how to back up all my apps and data with it?
I even downloaded the busy box like it said to do but still I can't seem to find a way to get to the actual backing up process. Is this compatible with My current root?
I have connectbot also, but forgot what to type in there to find out if I am rooted correctly. I do have livewallpapers.

there was an app on Play Store (can't remember the name) that allowed you to restore apps and data from backup created by "Titanium Backup".
Now I tried searching on Play Store "Backup", "Titanium", etc but I can't find it.

So I backuped all my system data and apps with titanium backup and now installed different ROM, and when I try to restore missing apps and data it asks for approval for every single app I had installed. I need to press "install" and then "done" for each app, and not only that, if I don't want to install and press cancel it stops working and I need to go to task manager, kill titanium backup and do everything again.. How to make that process automatic?

I've a problem that is recurrent in the Galaxy S forum... and maybe somewhere else!
When I do a backup with TB, it goes fine.
Then I flash a new rom, restore with TB. When app is restored, everything's fine, but when I restore data, every app is force closing... This is really annoying if I want to get back my apps settings...

I used the option in batching Titanium Backup to move apps and data to my sdcard to save some space. I've decided I want to move it back so that it's available when I press the Launcher. I know where it's stored on the sdcard and I have root explorer, but I'm just not sure which folder to move it back to in the first place. which folder houses all the apps that are currently available via the Launcher?

When I try to recover my apps using Titanium Backup's "Extract from Nandroid" feature, it says "Could not find any data in this TWRP backup"
The files in my TWRP backup folder are
data.ext4.win000
data.ext4.win001
data.ext4.win002
md5 for the above
recover.log

When i click on batch, then run to backup my apps it jumps back to the Backup/Restore screen with all the apps, nothing gets backed up. I have backed up before with Titanium and it worked. I reinstalled Busybox, didn't help. If i uninstall and reinstall will i lose all the things i did like freeze apps etc ? When i try to update through the marketplace it says installation error, package file was not signed correctly.

Software Reviewed: Titanium Backup
Version: 2.7.2

I was looking for an application that would allow me to:
1)Migrate to another phone easily.
2)Backup my applications (with ease)
3)Backup my DATA (with ease)
After some playing around with the market of available applications to backup applications/data, I found some very interesting applications which allowed scheduled backups (which I believe is a must have..) well thats my opinion anyway but out of all the applications I tried, titanium was the only application which after restoring the applications, also restored the links into the marketplace under downloads which allowed me to then receive further updates in the future..! Most backup applications will restore the application, no problem, but what about future updates? You WONT get them.!
Just recently, the developer of Titanium released the market doctor feature (only for donate users) which will attempt to fix any applications that dont show up in the marketplace after a restore (before this feature you had to restore, sometimes twice before it would show up) GREAT WORK !
I am abit (personally) disappointed with the GUI of titanium I believe that it should have an option (wizard) when you first startup the application which asks you, are you an advanced user or beginner, and if youre a beginner it shouldnt show you all the advanced information (that half the people wont understand anyway)
What Id like to see added?
1)beginner / advanced view of home page
2)shortcut options (or widget to run defined backup)
3)Scheduled backups
4)Backup of (SMS, call logs, bookmarks, system settings?)
5)Option to move most recent backup to remote location (i.e. network share over wifi, ftp over data etc)

I'm having problem with my Atrix to boot and before attempting a more drastic solution I would like to make a backup of my app and data.
I'm normally accessing via ADB, I can see the files on Android Commander.
Is there any way to backup the same way as it does for Titanium Backup then restore the data?
I use a stock ROM, version 2.3.6, and my bootloader is locked ('ll only unlock when finished warranty)

Using Titanium backup to backup all your apps etc. when switching to a new ROM. In my experience so far with rooting, Google has been backing up all my apps etc. and then restoring them all every time I try a new ROM. What is the advantage of Titanium?

I do have a pro version of the TB. And I'm trying to go thru and freeze all the bloatware, but when I hit the "freeze" button. It says "Freezing "FM Radio 1.00"..." and just sits there. I tried it with the Amazon MP3 as well, but gave up waiting after 10 minutes and rebooted. When it came up, it showed that the Amazon MP3 is frozen. Figured that it worked, but its stuck again. Am I doing something wrong? Do I really need to reboot after each freeze?

I have a question regarding restoring data after flashing to a new ROM (Bugless Beast) via a nandroid backup. I know I have the update.zip option, but that seems to introduce issues for some that I want to avoid. Now, I know I have a few options. I can batch backup apps and data with Titanium Backup, then wipe, install the new build, and then restore via Titanium. Or, I can do a nandroid backup of my phone, wipe, install the new build, and then restore only the data partition of my first backup. My question is, are either of these methods any different from just using the update.zip version of BB? For example, when I upgraded from BB .7.8 to 1.0, I lost root and had to do a full wipe and I just manually reinstalled everything. Will doing the data partition restore or titanium backup restore result in the same issues?

I have the following issue:
My old phone is a rooted htc vision (android 2.3). I want to transfer app data (savegames, settings, whatsapp verification, etc...) to my new phone which is an unrooted nexus 5.
I have titanium backups of my 2.3 apps but i can't use them on my nexus 5 as it is not rooted.
Is there a way to use the titanium backup files with helium (which works without root)?!
Or do i have any other opportunity to get the existing app data from the old phone to the new one without rooting the nexus?

I was hoping someone could assist me. I have paid for and installed Titanium Backup, but can't seem to locate it on my phone, in the apps list or elsewhere to actually run the application. It is hiding from me. In the settings, applications, i can see it and see program details, but as far as a program exe i cant find how to actually start the program.

So I did a batch backup with Titanium and when I went to restore on a new ROM I was trying (first time I'm trying this), when restoring all of the apps, it didn't do it automatically? Like I was reloading a bunch of apps, and it prompted me for EACH APP. Is there a way to just press restore on a batch I backed up, and it just puts everything on the phone that I selected? It took a long time sitting there and pressing ok after each app.

How come there are certain apps that will not allow me to restore even though I have a valid backup for it. For example I have the HTC_IME with a valid backup but when I click in within TB my only option is to delete the backup file, no restore available. There are other apps like that as well.
