I do not see any provided way to do Data and Application and UI backups.
Is there something I missed?
I am use to the blackberry which allows for backup of everything in case you lose or kill your phone.
I see you can buy RerWare MyBackup and MyBackup Pro. Does it do the job?
Any other better free tools?

I have titanium backup pro. I want to know can I backup only apps data? I mean when titanium backup pro performs backing up are there any option to excludes apk file backup and only backup apps data?
I think it's useless backup apk files, I can download them from Google play store.
Is there anything special I need to do to transfer data from an old SD card (the stock 2GB) to a new one (8GB)? Can I just copy the entire old card using a card reader to my PC, then copy all of that back to the new card? Or do I need to do anything special on the Incredible itself?

They are in the TB folder on the sd card but the app is not in the app list. How do I get them back? I did do a nandroid back up immediately after rooting will that restore them?

I recently joined the Android community with my purchase of the Moto Droid. After a few days, I became interested in the rooting process and gave it a go... upgrading to Froyo. There have been several ROMs I've tried out, but I'm very hesitant to try more due to backups.
Will somebody provide me (in words or a link) the best way to backup all of my applications and data when testing out a new ROM? I tried Titanium Backup (and even donated), yet I never have successfully restored from a backup. Some applications and system data restore, but a ton of apps don't install, and I have to re-enter my email accounts (and appropriate sync settings) every time. This and the number of apps it doesn't restore (especially Swype) makes it not worth messing around with.
I read something about Nandroid backup, but that just looked like it was a backup in case something went terribly wrong with a ROM or something of the sort. Also, it looked like in the Simply Stunning (ChevyNo1) 4.2, there was a built in backup script... but I'd like to be able to venture between ROMs.
I want to be able to backup all of my apps and system data (gmail accounts, sms, etc), install a new ROM, and reload all of my apps and data.
So I backuped all my system data and apps with titanium backup and now installed different ROM, and when I try to restore missing apps and data it asks for approval for every single app I had installed. I need to press "install" and then "done" for each app, and not only that, if I don't want to install and press cancel it stops working and I need to go to task manager, kill titanium backup and do everything again.. How to make that process automatic?

When I do a backup with TB, it goes fine.
Then I flash a new rom, restore with TB. When app is restored, everything's fine, but when I restore data, every app is force closing... This is really annoying if I want to get back my apps settings...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just updated xperia x10 from 1.6 to 2.1 (Rogers) and figured it out that all my applications were lost.Before the update, I installed the last PC Companion Software from SE and made two backups using the backup and restore application.After the update, when I tried to restore using it, there's no market application checkbox. Everything else (contacts, messages..) was restored.The paid applications are shown in the Market Download tab to install, but just that (because they are associated with google account).Nothing more. I lost about +50 apps with their user data.I searched all the net about it, but the only info I found it was that the backup and restore tool just save the application links.How about the user data? I reinstall some of the apps that I had, but no user data. Am I the only one that had this problem? Is there any advanced tool to try to undelete internal memory of the phone?

Titanium backup does the job but after restoring on a new rom I get a lot of fc's and none of the apps works. I cannot restore call log and text messages, accounts, etc.

I have installed many applications on my Galaxy Grand duos, with binding the applications data to External SD card (32gb), what will be the best practice to backup all the application and the data before installing another firmware? I used the option in batching Titanium Backup to move apps and data to my sdcard to save some space. I've decided I want to move it back so that it's available when I press the Launcher. I know where it's stored on the sdcard and I have root explorer, but I'm just not sure which folder to move it back to in the first place. which folder houses all the apps that are currently available via the Launcher?

I will probably miss sense and go back but I love all the options! I do miss being able to just restore data with nandroid backups on droid. Made flashing so easy. View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a problem I have rooted and unlocked my bootloader and flased with rom Carbon 4.3.1on my HTC HD Desire Phone. Everything runs fine except the data don't seem to work even though the correct settings has been applied. Whats so weird it comes on for like an hour then don't come back on again. I have had the rom installed for like 3 days now and it has come 4 times. I have tried switching off the phone, trying different settings also my mum and bro have the same network and same apn settings in my phone is in theres. The apn settings work fine in the stock rom.
Edit - Also I will like to add that the data flickers on and off. The H sign next to the bars
