I'm wanting to delete the factory apps that I dont want on here and was told that I could do this.. Is there like an app that I need to download to be able to let me do certain things that I couldnt of done without being rooted, like deleting apps I dont want?

i want to unroot and i don't know how i rooted using unrevoked 3 and don't c anything special about it i know custom kernals and roms i could care less can some 1 plz just post a link to unroot or tell me how and will it delete anything on my phone

View 9 Replies View RelatedI rooted with Unrevoked 3.2 but I have not flashed a ROM yet. My biggest concerns are that I will loose everything. If I flash the new OTA ROM, do I loose all my settings, like my gmail accounts, checkbook balances, game scores etc? I did (at least I think I did) and Nandoid backup using ROM Manager, confirmed the filename that I chose was on the SD card. Does that mean that if I boot into recovery mode, I should see the file? And can I boot into recovery to verify that it's there and then back out? Sorry for the noobie questions, searching through the forums (which I did) can be very challenging.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed unrEVOked3. It says it was successful. I downloaded ROM manager,busybox, and Titanium Backup. Busybox says my phone is rooted. I have a USCC american HTC Desire. I tried to Install Defrost 5.7 when I try to install in it looks like all is well, then it goes to a white screen with green HTC logo. I then have to do a battery pull and restore to get back to my phone being usable. I am getting a list of saved backups because I have been trying repeatedly.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI put the bakedsnack1.9.evo.zip on the sd card, wiped data/factor rst and wiped cache partition as the notes say. I then went ahead and tried to install the rom off the sd card and i'm getting "can't open /sdcard/bakedsnack1.9.evo.zip bad) installation aborted.
Did I do something wrong when I rooted?
It may be the rom, I just tried to unzip and I'm getting an error. I'm going to redownload and open it on the pc to ensure it opens then send to sd card and try again.
Update. just redownloaded it from bakedsnack.com and that one also will not open.. Odd
I have rooted my DI using Unrevoked 3 (love it) and have been using Wireless tether and Titanium. Two Noob questions,
1 From what I have read, I will have to unroot phone back to stock to get VZW 2.2 OTA. What will happen if I don't?
2 If I do the leaked OTA 2.2 with radio update and the radio file is different with VZW2.2 will phone brick??

I wasn't even planning on doing it last night; just wanted to get the drivers/programs/etc all in line and wait for the official release. But once I actually sat down at the computer to get everything together I realized there wasn't much of anything needed for this other than the unrEVOked program (beta from the IRC channel) and the appropriate drivers.Any suggestions on "must have" apps to use on my rooted, otherwise stock, Incredible?I'm currently playing with WiFi Tethering and LEDs Hack. Other than that, I'd love to hear what you'd recommend!

Step ONE:
The first thing to do is to download and install Titanium Backup from the market, and backup all of your apps and user data.Once this is done, shut your phone off.
STEP TWO:
Press and hold your volume up button. then press and release your power key while continuing to hold your volume up button.
Your phone will boot into a white background menu that has green text at the top, followed by FASTBOOT highlighted in red, followed by text in orange, then 4 options. You can release your volume up key once this menu is up.

I try to "adb remount" when the phone is on, and I get an error saying it can't be permitted. it also says "$" when I do adb shell
but I can still do it fine from clockwork recovery.
I just rooted my phone and got carried away deleting apps. I am not the quickest when it comes to computers so I started deleting everything in red. Yes I really did do that. Now I cannot download. I cannot use my dialer. I think I deleted up to about C before I said uhoh I may be in trouble here. I rooted because I hate the phone. I liked my iphone better as it was quicker and had better email. Those are my main two things. Figured if I rooted I could get rid of the lag and set up a better email. Well here I am. I need help or this thing will be taking a jump out my truck window soon. Help me like this phone please.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a galaxy s phone with darky's ROM v10.0 RC final. evidently it is rooted but some apps don't recognized it as a rooted phone. first, when i ran the superuser it fails and said com.noshufou.android.su is failed to work...and then theres a notificaTION that su binary is outdated but i tried to update it a million times but always failing, tried this su update fixer but still negative results. downloaded busybox installers the first one also failed to install busybox saying the directory where i want to put it has a problem, tried to put it to other option directory but still negative. the other busybox installer says that my phone is not rooted. how come this happens when titanium backup recognized my rooted phone.

Is the wifi-tethering that installed with the root free, or does it still add that extra $30/month Verizon has on their stock-tether?
Is it possible to underclock the Incredible? My phone never has speed problems, but the battery never lasts the day. It'd be nice to have some trade-off.

I'm really getting annoyed by some of these apps like google talk storage, alarm clock, and calender launching themselves when they have no business at all running.And even regular apps do this which baffles me why people make apps that launch themselves I wish we had user acccount control I bet someone will make this type of app for rooted devices one day.

1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?
2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?
3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?
4. Can I delete or freeze things like crap ringtones so they don't show up when I am setting a ringtone?
Im still learning a ton about the android OS and I have a dumb question. Are there apps the Android market that is made for a rooted phone only. Reason im asking is because I saw something on there but it looks like its made for a rooted phone only and I dont wanna risk screwing up my phone over it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI still have some apps and my phone and wifi seem to be working fine.I don't have Market, Rom Manager, Titanium (but I DO have SuperUser). When I USB my phone to PC - the PC doesn't see either the phone pr the card although I haven't reinstalled HTC Sync). At this point, I don't really even know if I'm rooted or have busybox.I'm really puzzled as to what I should do next:I don't know whether to do a phone restore from Settings or, perhaps from Recovery? Or whether to find a RUU (Is there one with the updated radio or with Froyo? Or, I guess I could wait for the OTA - but that's a wimped out way out and it might not even work at this point. Or, do I want to try reinstalling Rom Manager and do the permission fix - then reflash one of the Froyo Roms. But would that get me Market back? In all cases I'm gonna have to reinstall most of my apps since most resided (at least partially) on the dead sd. Fortunately appbrain has a record of all my apps. - but, from what I understand, there's no way to install the Market, except via HTC/Google/Verizon.

I can't log into the market because it wants to use the old account. I had to make a new account because my other one has been compromised. Can I do a factory reset? Will this ruin the ROM flash?
