Sep 2, 2010Is there a way to delete a GOOGLE account after rooted. I've tried all the suggestions about clearing data but it still says there are apps dependent on this. I can't log into the market because it wants to use the old account. I had to make a new account because my other one has been compromised. Can I do a factory reset? Will this ruin the ROM flash?

I don't use it, nor will I ever use it, so why does it have to be on my phone? I am so sick of having it pop up in Play Store reminding me to update it, when I don't even use it. I have tried installing the calendar provider, calendar apk, and odex files that I download, but nothing will install. Is there a custom ROM that I can flash that will install google calendar again or another way to get back the calendar function?

Apr 16, 2012I currently have an Motorola Atrix and it wont charge. The battery shows completely dead. When I plug the phone either into the USB or the wall charger, the led light will turn green and the phone powers on and is completely functional. However, it does not show that it's taking a charge (w/ either usb or wall). Once the plug is removed the phone will shut off and wont turn back on until I plug it back in. I've tried several chargers, stock and non-stock and they work on other phones with no problem. I bought a new battery and it worked for about an hour (guessing it was already charged) plugged it in (both usb and wall) will not show a charge. Now, it's back to the same thing. Battery is completely dead and it will only work when it's plugged in. Also, when I plug it in by usb the computer does recognize it.

Sep 23, 2012I have recently got an ICS update on my Motorola Atrix 2 in India. I have been using gingerbread for quiet a long and now suddenly everything has changed.
I have anyway explored almost all the changes in ICS. But I am still not able to find one feature which I really loved in gingerbread.
When I press and hold on empty part of home screen, a pop up comes up listing widgets, shortcuts, folders and wallpaper which is now replaced by wallpaper only. However, widgets can be still added after pressing menu key and selecting widgets tab. Folders can created by just dragging and dropping apps on one another.
But the most shocking part for me is that there is no way I can create a shortcut or at least I didn't find. I had pinned "catch" notes on my home screen in gingerbread which is not working anymore although the option is still there in the catch application.
Using Astro File Manager, I used to create my important folders from sd card as shortcuts on my home screen which is also not working any more. Is there anything I am missing out or ICS for motorola atrix 2 doesn't have that feature?
General :: Atrix Boots But Can't Unlock Screen
Dec 21, 2011My Atrix crashed a few days ago after ADW launcher locked up and I had to force close it. The phone was locked up at that point so I pulled the battery. Ever since, the phone will boot, but I can't unlock the screen or access anything via the touch screen. I can see the notification bar and I hear notifications from my calendar. It seems as if everything is working in the background, I just can't access anything. If it can't be fixed other than a hard reset, is there any way to backup my device using adb since I have no access to the device?

Once I got home, I setup my account and sync'd all of my email and contacts, but I cannot delete the original account he setup off the phone. I also cannot sync my calendar through my account. The phone is only wanting to sync the calendar with the account he set up. Can someone offer advice on how to delete the account he setup? BTW, I have gone in and tried to delete the account, but the phone tells me applications need this account and in order to delete it, I will have to reset the phone to all defaults and all information will be lost.

Jul 15, 2013I father-in-law has an Atrix 2 and the screen was in perfect condition. It was running extremely slow, so i did a factory reset for him. There is now a weird mark on his screen that seems to get bigger everyday. I told him it has nothing to do with the factory reset, but I believe he may have had it in his one cargo pocket and press against something. There is no visible damage to the exterior of the screen. I have attached a photo to see what it could possibly be if it is not from physical damage.

May 7, 2014I'm fairly new when it comes to installing custom roms so I require your patience. I don't know how to install a custom rom onto my Bell Atrix HD MB886, everytime I try it says abortion failed, what can I do to fix this. I have wiped data and all that probably 5 times in the past week alone. I would like to know how to successfully install roms without errors. Both the times that I have done this I had my bootloader unlocked, and I had clockword recovery mod latest version 6.0.4.4. I bought an SD card today to install the roms because otherwise I can't do it from my internal storage.

Oct 6, 2010I use Outlook/Exchange as my primary contact database, so I only wanted to sync my DX with Exchange for contacts. However, before I was able to get to my Google account settings on the X to tell it not to sync Google contacts - it had already synced them. Now, my contacts are a mess because of the damn "linked profiles", so practically every contact has some trash from my unmanaged Google contacts. Old email addresses, dupes, mislabled phone numbers (work, home, etc.) It's ugly and frustrating, since I keep my Exchange contacts perfectly edited and managed.
My problem is that I can't figure out how to delete the Google contacts from my DX other than doing it one at a time. (Since I have over 1500 contacts, that would be a huge pain.) Is there any way I can purge these? I'm a power Gmail user, so I can't just delete the entire Google account. (Not sure that's possible anyway.)
