Sprint HTC EVO 4G USB Desktop Cradle with Battery Slot. has anyone purchased this? what do we think?
I was an unfortunate early owner of a Samsung Instinct (returned it lol). The interesting thing about it was that it came with a convenient battery charger/case that I think would be perfect for the Evo. Anyone know where u can find one similar to the Instincts spare battery case for the Evo? View 4 Replies View RelatedLooking forward to warmer weather in the NE US and thinking about nice long bike rides. I am psyched to have such a cool little GPS/computer/map system and plan to take the Droid on long rides. Some will be 3+ hours and I don't want to worry about running out of juice. Researching it looks like I have a few options and wanted to know what you all think. Mostly I think the droid will just sit in my Jersey pocket with screen off but tracking GPS. Occasionally I will check maps.
1- buy a spare battery - weight- not much, 1300 mAh - Downside, sometime during the ride I will need to swap batteries and restart GPS apps that I might be running. This would be really annoying so I think this is out as an option.
2- battery extender like Satechi iCel 4400 mAh Battery Extender. Pricey but would certainly give me enough ride time & gets excellent reviews
3 - Solio H1000 Universal Hybrid Charger Not as much power as the battery extender but I really like the idea of charging while I am out riding, although it seems to charge pretty slowly and needs direct sunlight. Even without serious sun it would probably provide enough of a charge for all but the longest rides. Gets "ok" reviews
anyone else have this battery charger? and is it taking 8 hours to fully charge the battery? this is crazy. this isnt the exact one i bought, but its the same kind. supposedly mine didnt come from hong kong. if anyone knows of a good battery charger, let me know. View 17 Replies View RelatedWill virtually any mini-USB based cable, car charger, and wall charger work with my HTC Droid Eris? Mini-USB cables are generally universal, but I want to ensure that I use a compatible car charger and wall charger that won't damage my phone. The official Verizon accessories of course seem overpriced, if any generic solution would work equally well.
For example, I am considering this product on amazon.com: Amazon.com: Home Travel Wall Charger + Rapid Cell Phone Car Charger + USB Data Sync Charge Cable for HTC Touch Pro 2 / Tilt 2 / Hero / Imagio / Pure / Touch Diamond 2 / Droid Eris: Cell Phones & Service. Overall, this mini-USB cable / car charger / wall charger combo gets positive reviews, but I've heard of random glitches for some cheap chargers.

View 29 Replies View RelatedI am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried the Search feature to no avail for this particular question. When I originally downloaded the Spare Parts application for my Motorola Droid, it would show the amount of time each program had my phone in 'wakelock'. Ex: Going into the Partial Wake usage would show times. However, lately I noticed going in there this no longer happens... Anyways, just curious if anyone here has any ideas as to why.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when the setting for Handcent SMS has the Blinking LED to "Fast", "Normal", or "Slow" it'll eat up resources and takes up +80% of the Partial Wake Time Usage according to Spare Parts. I've noticed this with 2.1, 2.2, and 2.2 again after a hard reset. I'm assuming it's an issue with the last few updates of Handcent as I did not have this problem a month ago.
With it set to "Default" blinking it'll consume normal resources like every other app. Thing is with the "Default" blinking, it just stays green like it's fully charged. I'd appreciate if someone else can look into this and see if this same issue is present for you.
Just saw this on Gizmodo, it's a solBAT charger for any USB device... it's a 1500 mA battery that pumps 5V through a USB hookup. It's not exactly a perfect solution to anything (especially since it seems like it would be most useful in a car, which is when you'd be able to plug into the cigarette lighter anyway), but still: you can essentially boost your battery using only the sun, and it's only $30... pretty cool!
Thought I'd post it here for anybody with environmentalist inclinations who's having battery problems... or if you're like me, and you're planning some extended hiking/camping trips for the summer, and were trying to figure out how you were going to keep your phone alive for more than a couple of days
I'm using Jorte as my organizer and wondered if I can place my Tasks etc. on to a spare home-screen? I'm also using the App. Folderorganizer; Do I need to use this to do it or can I do it through Jorte? What other possibilities are there please? ( without me having to re-write my planner if I install another Calendar app. )
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been reading the forums since i got my phone, and it has been invaluable. Thanks for all the knowledgeable contributors. One thing that was recommended by several people was to download "spare parts", so I did. That being said, I have no idea what the results mean! For example, if I look under battery history, and other usage, it reads "running (100%) and screen time (100%) I have no idea what that means!
Also people state you can tell which applications are sucking the life of your battery, and I have no idea how to do that.
When I keep my fully charged spare battery in the car, dose it stay fully charged over time?

I bet it is super simple, but I just can't see it. Where do I go to see what programs maybe keeping my phone awake...what usage do I look at, what do I press? Also, what settings should I use for it? I am about to go into Verizon today, because my phones voltage is above 4v (I heard that when it is in the 4 range, you may have a bad battery also...), but I want to see the amazingess of this APP that everyone seems to know but me
View 2 Replies View RelatedI really like the original screen protector that came with the xperia x10 phone. it is the spare screen protector that is in the box with the phone, not the one that is factory installed on the phone screen. anyway, i accidentally ruined mine today messing around with it. i need another one and i cant find one like it. does anyone know where i can buy this screen protector.
The unique properties about this "oem" screen protector that i like so much is that it is "static" type adhesive, it "perfectly" mate with the screen from corner to corner, it "completely" cover the entire screen glass surface with no unnessary holes. yes it matters to me.
I dont know how much boxwave cover the screen, but what i dont like about this brand is their the screen protector has a cutout hole for the proximity sensor, and i dont like that. the oem does not have the cut out hole and i like my entire screen cover without any hole.
Clarivue dont have any cutout hole, but it has been clearly documented that their screen protector does not cover the entire screen, it has about one milimeter gap around the sides. this bothers me too.
If anyone know where i can order the original oem screen protector that came with the xperia x10 please help me out. or if possible, if you happen to be not using your original "oem" screen protector that came with the phone because you've interested in something else instead, or perhaps just not needing it, can you sell it to me. i can use a couple for spare.
