View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm moving and in a fit of cost-cutting I've decided to just use this phone for internet. Only thing I really use the computer for netwise is downloading torrents which I can do when I get a 32gb card and for listening to music which I can already do. Still, I'd like to have the web browsing and keyboard features and whatever. I want the net on the computer. what is the best way for cheapest? I really don't want to tether with sprint.

I've read in here that Android doesn't support ad-hoc, and I don't have a wireless router so that leaves me with blue tooth. So my big Q is: "Can you share your Internet from your computer to a Android-device via blue tooth?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am creating an Android application. This application should send message to computer via internet and Wifi (check whether if the device is using internet). The main function is by pressing on a button in Android device a message should go to computer via internet (I don't know, but I think it should be with UDP). I know that I need to set the server for computer and write down IP and port to the android app code. I don't have any clue how to do it. I kinda need to create a computer (windows 7) server receiver, which would receive messages. I am using Eclipse Android SDK
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running android 2.3.6
When I connected my cellphone to the internet my cellphone contacts got contaminated with all my gmail contacts. This really pisses me off.
Aside from manually going through and deleting them, how can i turn this feature off?
I had an app and had to reset my phone and lost it. I thought it was called SMS Box? But it let you view SMS via a key # or on their website. What was this app called? I can't find it now Oh and it was Free
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have looked all over. How in the world do you save a picture from the internet to your cliq. I have done a long press on the picture when I am in the browser and nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAny apps available that are like Pandora Jam, allowing one to save Internet radio for later playback?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to save a picture you see while searching the internet to your phone or SD card straight from your phone? I've tried looking into menu options and don't see a save option. I've tried holding down on the photo to see if there are options and nothing happened then for saving either.
View 5 Replies View RelatedTried the long press...got nothing. Tried the menu key...no save option.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just went through the hassle of factory resetting to see if it will help my post-froyo battery drain. The one thing I could not figure out was how to back-up/restore my internet bookmarks. Does anyone know how to do this? Not mentioned in the manual or froyo guide.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my android application,I want to save some photos uploaded from a server on my database and then reuse them later. I think I should save them in a binary format and save their links into the database. Is it the better solution? Can you give some code or an example? now I only uploaded the image and display it directly using an ImageView but I want to make it available in my application when the user is offline.
View 1 Replies View RelatedDo you turn your internet off to save battery? I started doing this and works great. I got the widget on my home page and turn it after use.
View 43 Replies View RelatedI used to have an HTC Hero and have switched to Desire a few weeks ago.
On my Hero i had different sounds set up for my text messages and my e-mails. For some reason i just can't figure out how to do it on Desire and i really hope that you can have seperate sounds. Any help would be really appreciated. <THE MAIN ISSUE>
The second thing is that to save pictures off the internet i know that you longpress and get the options. However with google images not for some reason you can't do that
The alternatives i've found are to either do the usual longpress options on either the small thumbnail in google search, but that gives a rubbish little pic =/
OR
open the image and then follow link to original page it is from, then save from there.
But both of these are a bit of a faff. So although its not a big issue i'd like to know if there is a way to save from the individual pictures if you know what i mean.
Just another thing i've thought of... because i have an orange branded Desire my music player has a rubbish link to orange music world or something by the play, and skip track buttons...
any way to get rid?
There is a really simple answer but i wanted to know how i could get all my contacts from my SIM onto my computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently called someone and wanted to add them to my contact list. In call history, I clicked the little file picture and added their name, saved it as a google contact, and saved it. If I go to People, the name doesnt appear. So I went to the People app, entered their info, made it a google contact, saved. Still didnt work. Even manually synced my google account. So then I changed the "view" to show every option and slowly ticked off each box til I realized that only if "show auto gmail contacts" is ON does my new contact appear. It was also "linked" to 3 other contacts (the same one that I kept adding over and over wondering why it wasnt appearing). So, of course I do NOT want everyone I've ever e-mailed in my contact list, so the question is, how can I add/save any contacts and make them appear in People?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI always used to backup my Nokias to their PC suite on my home computer. That backuped everything on the phone if I wanted and also was excellent when I changed phones, as, as long as they were Nokia I could just restore everything to my new phone.
Is there any similar system for my HTC Desire? I need the assurance that if my phone gets stolen or needs to be replaced, as I'll backup often, I'll be able to restore everything to my new phone directly from the computer.
I cant seem to find the file to get it on to my computer. I plug the phone in and cant find it in any of the folders.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of contact editing to do, and I was wondering if there were an easier way to do this (possibly on the computer).
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a HTC Incredible S and want to edit my android contacts on my computer.I thought there would be an app with a web interface or something similar I could edit my contacts on my computer.
I have HTC Sync, but don't want to use Outlook to edit/add contacts.
I just recently switched from a Window Mobile phone to the Captivate and I am loving it thus far. Aside from the standard gripes about gps i have nothing to complain.
I am however having trouble comprehending how google syncs my contacts. I have my contacts set up exactly how i want them on my google account online i.e. co workers freinds family grouping. I would like my phone to display the contacts in the same fashion, but it seems the google sync is only one way from my phone to my account and not the other way around.
How can i get my contacts to sync from my google account so that they show up as i have them set up online without having to do every individual one on the phone.
I want to send my contacts from my phone to the computer.how can I do that?
