General :: OG Droid - Copy Contacts To Computer For Editing And Reset Phone
Jan 22, 2012I have an OG Droid. My contacts are screwed up (somehow I duplicated them from the sd card) and the phone is super slow.
I would like to copy my contacts (and some vids/pics) to my computer for editing purposes, reset the phone, and load the contacts back on.

Both say they're on my gmail account, but editing the second doesn't reflect on the contact list if I change the name, does anyone else have this?

Apr 24, 2010I have 9 GB of music, most ripped from full abums I own. But the rest is in downloaded or copied songs. The problem is that these downloaded songs are sometimes misspelled, mislabled, the genre & other info isn't filled in at all, and or the album info is missing or incorrect.The result with a great audio player app like "3" (my favorite so far) is that I might have 35 Tom Petty songs, but because album info is missing on so many of them, the app has them dispersed among 22 different albums! Very annoying. (This happened after telling "3" to search for album art.) Then there's the "Unknown Atrist" catagory where I'll no doubt find another stray TP song, etc.What I'm looking for is another app that gives me a GUI that allows me to edit all of the tag data for music files in my library. Preferably it should have a search function so that I could type in "Tom Petty", for example, and all songs by him would come up so I could comb through and edit data for each one I choose,

Jun 24, 2010Seeing how this keyboard works on 2.1, I'd definitely love to get this working on 2.2 somehow. I want to try to experiment with this apk and see what I can possibly change in order to get it to work on 2.2. Does anyone know what files that may need to be edited within the apk? Motorola Droid :: Metamorph - Editing .png - Change Colors Of Wif Bars
Mar 3, 2010I would like to change the colors of the Wif bars on the status bar at top of screen I extracted the .png files (blue bars), opened them in Paint, and manually changed the color to yellow. Zipped them back up in Metamorph format and pushed them to my Metamorph format and pushed them to my sdcard Applied theme using Metamorph, and it worked, except that the background is now white. I created a theme using the original 5 files. I created a theme using the original 5 png's with blue bars, applied the theme, and it worked and it doesn't have the white background. I think I understand what's happening, but not sure how to format the pictures correctly so just the bars show without the background. Any help appreciated, thanks

I edited .png files in framework-res.apk; the sdcard preparing icon and also the usb connected icon.
I used this method:
Use terminal, since ADB doesn't work.
su
cp system/framework/framework-res.apk /sdcard
(edit files on your computer opening the framework as an archive using 7zip. put the file on the sd card)
assuming that you aren't in SU anymore..
su
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk system/framework
chmod 644 system/framework/framework-res.apk
sync
reboot

They are not the .9 png files, and the icons changed without problem, but immediately after a reboot almost every program on my phone is force closing.

Aug 23, 2012I have a user that syncs her corporate email and calendar to her Motorola Droid Razr, Android 4.0.X. The initial entry of an event in her calendar is set for the correct time and time zone. When she edits her event the time zone changes which causes the event to be displayed at a different time.
Another user also has the issue on a Droid Incredible, but is not as concerned about it. I have the HTC EVO LTE and have not been able to replicate the issue.
I read this site and thought it could work. We have reset her account, changed her time zone, resynced.
Motorola Droid :: Contacts Only Syncing To Google All Contacts Not My Contacts
Jan 16, 2010I seem to be having a sync issue with my Droid.When I add a contact to my phone, it doesn't sync into "My contacts" in Gmail; it'll sync into "All contacts". So, a couple of questions:
1) How can I get the phone to add new contacts created on my Droid into "My contacts" in Gmail?
2) I'm trying to understand the point of "All contacts". Why does Gmail want to keep a list of anyone that I've ever sent an email to? Otherwise, it'll be simple enough to just merge the two groups and call it a day.(Note: When I bought my Droid I did NOT have the VZW sales person transfer my contacts or any data from my old Blackberry to my Droid. I used Google Sync on my BB and synced my contacts from my BB to Gmail, then when I got the Droid, it automatically pulled my contacts from Gmail.)(FWIW, yes, I did a search and found two great threads: http://androidforums.com/support-troubleshooting/15042-how-do-i-push-droid-contacts-back-gmails-my-contacts.html and http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/15069-contacts-dont-really-synchronize.html but I have a different situation than most of those guys and I'd actually prefer to sift through and merge a couple of contacts from "All contacts" to "My contacts" every once in a while than deal with a backup and factory reset.)

Jun 10, 2010I always used to backup my Nokias to their PC suite on my home computer. That backuped everything on the phone if I wanted and also was excellent when I changed phones, as, as long as they were Nokia I could just restore everything to my new phone.
Is there any similar system for my HTC Desire? I need the assurance that if my phone gets stolen or needs to be replaced, as I'll backup often, I'll be able to restore everything to my new phone directly from the computer.

It just says "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk (H" when I click on it. I was able to sync all my music on Friday, what could possibly be going on now?
