Sep 17, 2010Trying to connect a HTC Hero to my computer, it used to connect ok as i used to use the phone as a modem for my laptop, but now instead of the charger light coming on & charging and the little symbol saying it was connected in the top elft of the screen it ONLY charges the phone but the little symbol doesnt come up in the top left and i cant find the device on my computer, iv tried new cables etc but still no joy, any ideas?

Oct 21, 2012i got an S3.. and my computer has xp pro. i had to restore my computer recently from a saved image of my system. before i restored my computer, i was able to connect my S3 to it via USB with no problem. but after i restored it, i'm unable to.
i downloaded and installed the MTP driver, which got my computer to recognize my phone before i restore it. but now its not working and i dont see it listed in Device Manager. whats weird is that when i connect my S3 to my computer, the phone doesnt give any notifications that the phone is connected to USB like it used to before. and it also doesnt give me the 2 options of connecting by either MTP or Camera. all it does is charge my phone.

Jul 11, 2010I have been pulling my hair trying to read forums and find the correct solution to my issue. Whenever I connect to the computer whether its on "charger only", "disk drive", or whatever, it still doesn't allow me to access my SD card.I've tried the following:
1. uninstalling doubletwist
2. connecting, going back from charger only to disk drive.
3. ejecting the removable hardware and switching from charger only to disk drive and still nothing.
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate this.

General :: Connecting S2 To Computer Via Modem (for QPST)
Apr 29, 2014So while I am fairly good with computers, I am pretty new to android phones. I have been trying for a few hours now to connect my phone (Galaxy S2 d710) to my computer to use in QPST and similar programs. The only way that I have been able to get it to connect in modem mode (not usb modem tethering, that is) is to turn my phone off and boot to the Odin flash page thing. Problem is, Odin is the only application that can communicate with my phone when it is like this. I have found several guides on how to change the usb settings temporarily to a modem connection, but all of the numbers and codes it tells me to type in either don't work, crash, or go to a blank page.
Just realized that I should probably note that I am rooted and running cyanogenmod.

Sep 10, 2010I got my DInc replaced, and im putting some media back on my phone. When I mounted my phone im getting 3 drives now. E drvie which is my phone storage F drive which is my memory card and a new super secret D drive, which has weird content in it.a program called TL-Bootstrap.exe?? Any ideas of what the hell this is. Im not running this .exe till I know whats what.

Feb 1, 2010I am a new HTC Magic (Vodafone) user and have downloaded a number of useful Apps from the market. Since I work away from the UK (and have roaming disabled) and I have a Wi-Fi at home, I do not have a data pack included in my contract. However, I have found that a great App I downloaded - NetCounter - is reporting cell traffic that is going to end up costing me a lot of money.
So I have a few questions.
1) How do I switch between running applications, so I can see what's running?
2) How do I prevent certain Apps from starting whenever I power on the phone?
3) How do I see what Apps are connecting to the internet(ignoring the WiFi) and creating unwanted cell traffic.
4) Is there something I can disable so that I can use the phone normally, but prevent it from connecting to the internet unless I am back home and using the WiFi connection.
