Android :: Nokia N900 / Thinking Of Going Back
Feb 2, 2010I have a Nokia N900 - it's great and so powerful but I must admit I like something that is smooth and easy to use yet still hackable so I think I want to go back to an Android device.I know a few threads ask for advice etc and this one is no different!I want the best of both worlds but would prefer a hardware keyboard,when I say best of both worlds,I want a fast processor and at least as important a device with loads of ram and of course version 2.something of Android.I know my only option currently is the Nexus One (but no hardware keyboard) so I was wondering if there is anything up and coming (or if I should compromise my requirements list)

Nokia doesn't seem to know where they are heading with Maemo/Meego/Symbian since Meego will not be ported to N900.. and only 1/3 of Ovi apps work on it .. would be great to have a build for the N900 - I'll switch right away.

Sep 19, 2010I am planning to buy a High End phone. Though my Basic requirement is mostly Emailing, IM and Web Browsing. My prime concern is whenever I visit a website the viewing has to be clear and comfortably big. So I am looking out for a phone with a decent screen. Now I have shortlisted two phones the Nokia N900 and the Samsung Galaxy S-i9000. I know that the SGS comes with an Amoled Screen, which supports 16 Million colors but frankly speaking a lot of people have been saying this to me besides the big, vibrant screen the SGS offers there is nothing special about it. Still running Android 2.1. Ok Offers Multi-touch screen, Pinch to Zoom ease and all. But frankly it cannot be the only deciding factor atleast not for me. Android Apps have reached to a staggering number but while everyone is happy about the numbers a lot remains to be desired on how much of those Apps are really useful. Though Multi-Tasking is also there on the SGS, the quality and the experience is Horrible is what I have heard from initial feedback, it keeps killing most of the apps in the background when you run a website on it.

Jul 12, 2010I am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.

Am using Mini to Micro usb converter/adapter on motorola RAZR1 charger--plug charger's mini into the converter plug, then plug the micro end of the converter into the Evo.
When I plug this set up into the phone, the screen changes from the Home screen to a large icon screen with Footprints, Navigation, Voice Search etc. big icons. Have not seen this screen on this phone before.
Have tried two different mini/micro converter plugs on different Razr1 chargers with the same result.
Since the RAZR2 chargers are compatible with the Evo, I had assumed that the RAZR1 chargers would also be compatible, the only issue being the mini/micro interface. So I purchased for short money some converters so the I could use the multiple RAZR1 chargers I have.
Seems that the RAZR1 must have a substantially higher, or lower, output that is just not compatible with the Evo.
Does anyone have any info or experience regarding RAZR1 chargers with the Evo ? ...with this screen changing thing ?
HTC EVO 4G :: Wall Charger Freezeseboots Phone
Oct 5, 2010Just this morning I plugged my phone into the wall charger and it froze up everything. Eventually the phone reboots, but after it finishes booting it freezes again and the whole process repeats indefinitely. If I charge it from a usb port it works fine. I searched around but haven't seen anyone else with this issue. Any insight or suggestions would be great. CM6.0 w/King's #2 kernel UPDATE EDIT: It's now doing it even if I use the usb port method. Getting pretty fed up with this thing, it had been working flawlessly with this romkernel combo for a week before this.

Nov 21, 2010When I got home from work today my battery was down to 20%. I plugged the charger in then started messing around on youtube. An hour later my phone shuts off and wouldn't power back on. Red led was blinking for about five minutes then the phone powered itself back on. I checked osmonitor and it showed my battery at 0% and battery temp at 140f. Will the battery not charge if your using this phone or is my charger bad?
