I would like to try cyanogen's latest build (although still not sure which one that is) but after trying to google everything I need answers to I am just getting more confused so I thought someone here could help.
I only have used sprecovery so this whole clockwork recovery is confusing. Says I need it but if I don't like cyanogens how hard is it to revert back to my adamz smoked glass that i have now with sprecovery? Don't even want to try and tackle the titanium backup thing.
Does Cyanogens come with busybox? Will I still have wifi tether and a kernel that supports it? What is this thing about having to install google apps in some special way as i read they are left out?
What I am looking for is all the cyanogen goodness (the ability to flip the phone and have screen rotate 180 degrees)with a smoked glass theme, stock theme or green theme, wifi tether(a must), moving wallpaper, overclocking and the ability to load my custom boot animations.
I like my Adamz smoked glass rom a lot but want to be able to rotate the phone and have the screen change. I have everything listed above except phone rotation now.
I have not had a single problem running Adamz rom or any issues with sprecovery. I can use these with ease so I am hoping someone can point me to an easy guide to make the change and answer a few of these questions.
I just bought a rooted Nexus One with a FRF83 build preinstalled. It's been working great but I keep getting messages about installing OTA updates but they always fail (says E: No signature (575 files) E: Verification Failed) I tried manually downloading the FRF85 and FRF91 update, copying as update.zip to my SD updating from the recovery menu but it still gives the same error. From the little info I've found online it may be an issue with the ROM but I can't tell for sure. My ultimate goal would be to go back to stock Android with the latest official Froyo build.

I'm a lame-o Windows developer trying to do some Browser specific development targeting Android. I'm having some funny issues with my G1 and my older emulator (WebKit CSS/Layout, etc). I was wondering if any of you Linux guys out there might be so kind as to give me a compiled image of the latest nightly build? I believe I need three files out of the tools directory: /tools/lib/images/userdata.img /tools/lib/images/system.img /tools/lib/images/ramdisk.img
I'd build it myself, but my windows box can't do it!
Fennec a.k.a firefox android has started nightly build I think. Please refer following links.

I've read it's compression, what settings are our EVO set at and how do you find out the compression rate of the other phones? Is this something that software or a root hack can alter?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI need some help here if you can. I was running the latest cyanogen rom and it was running pretty smooth. Then I tried to change the theme without flashing clockwork!! ( duh, I forgot!!! )now I'm stuck on the moto logo!! I tried wiping the whole phone, factory reset, my backups , battery pull, and its still stuck on the moto logo. I got my phone to boot up now! I was just getting a lil frustrated, thats all. I think the phone needed to take a lil break too!
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I recorded some videos yesterday, assuming it would record in 720p by default. However when uploading to YouTube, it would only allow up to 480, not giving the option of 720p playback.
Well today, I noticed different resolutions. Is 1280x720 the 720p resolution? If so, then I may have figured it out myself.
Just flashed CM 6.0.0-N1 and all went well, except there is no 720p option in camera quality settings. Can anyone shed some light on this?
I'm running the new baseband 32.41.00.32H_5.08.00.04 from the korean rom if that makes a difference.
I'm hesitating whether to buy a Legend and wondering whether Legend support 720p recording.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI'm new to flashing ROMs, and decided to have a play with Cyanogen. I used the one click root method, installed ROM manager, downloaded Cyanogen RC2 and tried to flash it. It keeps aborting.
Here is the end of the log...
CODE:.......................
I have installed the cyanogen mod in my desire Z but the market is not working.
(1) the market was not present in the first place, so i had to download and install it...but google play is not working, whenever i select google play, it comes back to the home screen.
(2) i have'nt kept any nandroid backup, and i've made the permanent root on the phone with with mod.
(3) now i want to revert back to the stock rom, but i cam unable to do so....how to roll back to the sock rom.
(4) i have tried to flash the roms from this thread [URL] ... ... trired both the methods. but didnt work!
I desperately need a solution for either (or both) of these:
(1) a way to make google play & android market work
(2) to roll back to the stock rom ( link to a desire z stock rom and instructions on how to do it! )
so, is there a way to get my phone back o the way it was? (normal 2.2 /2.3 stock)
here are some screen shots from the current about phone:
I want a pocketable android device mostly for wifi use. It can be a phone, but I would only use it with a prepaid Sim and no contract. It doesn't have to be a phone.
I also want to be able to track the latest android software without interference from the provider (currently 2.2)?
Does anything fit this bill other than the $529 Nexus one? It seems like a lot of money for a device that is about to go out of production.
I'm trying to install the latest maps update and it seems stuck on "starting download". It's gone on way beyond the time needed for the previous download/upgrade.
View 13 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy Nexus and Transformer Prime both stop recording at a 2gb file size, is this true of all android devices? Is there any way around it, an app or something? I've tried a couple that didn't work but maybe I missed one that does. I'd like to be able to record at 1080p until the memory card is full..
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst of all i'm quite a n00b when it comes to rooting and everything, however back in feb when i got mt ATT n1 I decided to root cause of the cool apps that wouldnt run on non-rooted phones.I followed a step by step guide with success. Then the early 2.2 build came out and I loaded it with CM updater and it worked fine. However apps crash often and the phone seems sluggish. I want to flash to the newest release... thing is I don't know where to start.I don't mind loosing all the apps and contacts since I have everything backed up. I just want a completely clean 2.2 flash.Any idea of where to start? I saw the thread that talked about upgrading but since i'm already on 2.2 I dont know what to do.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI like to send back a Nexus One device and I like to ask how accurate is the build in function to clean up the device. The one located at Settings->Privacy->Factory data reset.
Is this the same with the "Delete Option" located in the recovery mode?
In general what method advance user use to clean up their device and perform a hard reset?
I want to build AOSP from sources. Specifically on the Nexus 10.
I downloaded the proprietary binaries from the Nexus Binary Download page. [URL] .....
I followed instructions how to set up the source code and build it but i am not too sure how to correctly extract the proprietary binaries. [URL] .....
I used the self-extracting shell scripts to extract the binaries in the root of the directory i executed "repo sync" in. (in my case: WORKING_DIRECTORY)
The binaries were put to "WORKING_DIRECTORY/vendor"
My question is whether i did it correctly and whether the binaries will be included in the build when i hit "make".
I've got the Screencast Video Recorder app on my Nexus 7 but when I finish recording anything, the only result I get is a video, of accurate length, full of a pale static image. None of what I've recorded can be seen at all.
When I had this app installed on my Samsung Galaxy S2 it worked perfectly. Now I have it on my N7 and it doesn't work so I'm thinking that it could be a tablet compatibility type issue, even though I'm able to install and open the app fine.
As is shown in my sig, my Nexus 7 is stock rooted, so it's not as if a custom ROM is causing the problem.
Rooted and upgraded to newest Fly X, market is slow as hell now. I want to go back to earlier 2.2 or 2.1 build, says I am no longer rooted, what do I need to do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI noticed that in order to update your nexus one you need to either use OTA updates or download that zip archive, drop into sd card and boot in recovery mode but they have not worked for me.
The thing is, i have a weird build number and i think thats why it wont let me update it.
passion-userdebug 2.1 ERD72 22132 test-keys
Thats what i got, and i cant update it normally. Anyone know where i cant get started?
inb4 use search function, used it, nothing related to updating from my build, ive searched other forums too, nada...
I just need to be pointed to a thread that explains how to put the stock rom back on. Or instructions. If this helps I did save it on my sd card.
