i'm trying to add a 2nd gmail account through the gmail app. it goes through the entire process, goes to the sync page and allows me to select what i wish to sync up then gives me a confirmation that the account has been added but when i go to the gmail app and check accounts it still only lists the 1 original account. i've tried powering the phone off and restarting - also added the account via HTC email app and deleted the 2nd account via HTC email app just in case it was conflicting there

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 6 gmail accounts set up in the Gmail app. Never had a problem adding accounts until now. When I try to add another account, it seems to try setting up the account, and then returns the following error: "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server." I have tried multiple times and always get the same error. Data is always turned on and I have a good signal.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow I am supposed to use email on android. Am I supposed to use the gmail app or HTC email app? Also is there a better email app? I am coming from a Palm pre. Is there an email app that views html email better? I like how on the iPhone and pre, you see the whole email, zoomed out. I hate having to pan around, I hate by default it is zoomed in.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have my @gmail.com account set up with the gmail client and love the way it works on my mytouch3g. I have my own @mydomain.com that is a gmail domain so my mail looks and acts just like gmail. My issue is that if I use the other android mail client I loose all of the gmail funtionality. How can I use the gmail app with another email address?
View 3 Replies View Relatedhow to set up Gmail through an exchange server so that you can get push email in the HTC Mail app. I obviously can't be 100% sure this works, but the folks over at XDA seem to think this is the solution for the Desire. The instructions are for a Windows Mobile Device, but all of the information you need to fill in inside the HTC Mail app should be available at the link. Hope this solves some push email problems on Thursday (or Wednesday for some of you lucky ones)! Setting Up Your Windows Mobile Phone for Google Sync: Google Sync

View 6 Replies View RelatedNot sure if I am being an idiot but is there anyway of saving attachments from the gmail app? I can open them but cannot see an option anywhere to save it? Also if forwarding an email is there anyway of not including the quoted text?
View 2 Replies View Relatedall the customization Android allows Google didn't create a Gmail App that makes it impossible to save attachments to your SD card/internal memory. I have tried searching around here and it seems the EVO folks are stuck as well. Would Google really stop us from doing something so essential? And I know you can in HTC Mail, but I have notification issues with HTC Mail that I can't deal with (like the notification sound continuing perpetually when a new email arrives).
View 4 Replies View RelatedPreviously when I would receive emails (Gmail app) on my Eris and view/delete them they would still be there when I logged in on my PC to view and then finally delete them from the Gmail page. This morning I went through all the emails on my Eris and deleted them but when I logged in to my PC they were all in the trash.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't get this Gmail app. It doesn't seem to sync properly with my Gmail account. First off, sometimes the main screen will show "Inbox (1)" or whatever number to indicate I have email, but there are no emails when I tap "Inbox" (but there *are* emails on the website, so they are really in my inbox). This may also be related to the label syncing options. I have them all set to "sync all" because I assume this means it will keep everything synced no matter how old it is, and if you specify a number of days, then it just syncs as far back as that many days. But this seems to cause a problem too, in that sometimes I have email on the website, but the phone isn't detecting it.
Finally, both times I've tried to send an email, it won't work. The email ends up as "sending" in the Outbox, but never gets sent. And yes there is a data connection. I see no reason why it shouldn't send immediately. I didn't expect the Gmail app, of all things, to be so problematic on an Android phone!
Is there a way to delete my gmail account off the gmail app? I dont want to receive my emails on my phone. I was able to delete it off the email app on the home screen, but not in the gmail app under applications.

Does Froyo offer a font settings box in Gmail and the Messages application? I surely hope so! The fonts are too small for me. Anyone investigated this issue?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo the one factor that will decide if I will buy the Droid or not, is if I can use my Google Apps standard addition gmail address, ie hikingfan@your-group.com, with the native gmail and google calendar applications on the Droid. Does anyone know if this is possible and whether it works well or not? Are there any other limitations to using a Google Apps account on the Droid, like access to the marketplace? Thank you so very much, I desperately want to use the Droid for my work phone but I want to make sure that I can actually do work on it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted 2.2 Inc with the 2.3 version G mail app. Since updating to 2.3, I can no longer preview/download attachments. The app gets stuck on "Fetching Attachment" and eventually force closes. I've sought help from Google but there's no official answer to this issue. Does anyone here have any advice? I've even gone so far as to do a factory reset, but to no avail. Like many of you, the Incredible is my workhorse on the road and I desperately need the ability to open attachments.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the gmail app setup on my HTC desire HD and it works perfectly, however when I open the HTC mail app and try and add gmail to that it doesn't work giving me a password error (even though I am sure it is right) I want to use the htc mail app as it will allow me to have all my email accounts in the same mail box. I have tested it with a hotmail account and it works fine, is gmail supported?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my Gmail app where I think no information is being 'sent' from the phone. I receive incoming mails, but no mails are sent. Though I delete incoming mails, the next notification which I receive when I get the next mail will show "17 mails" though I would have deleted the previous 16 emails. When I check email on my browser, all the emails what I had deleted are still there. I have tried a factory reset and I still have a problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy will the gmail app not empty the trash folder? If I delete an email on the phone and then switch to the trash folder my emails are there. I then select them all again to delete as you would expect. Yet each time I reload the trash folder all the deleted emails are still there. If I want to really delete them I have to go in to gmail with my pc.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI try to send numerous emails through the Gmail app and they won't send. They sit in my Outbox and never send. Is anyone else having this issue, or had this issue and care to help how to reslove it? I had the Smoked Glass Rom, but switched back to my old edited rooted nandroid backup, then even tried the OEM version I had backed up, but it still won't send.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHad my phone two days and I've already managed to screw it up. Gmail through the browser works fine. Notifications of new mail work fine; I can pull down the notifications bar up top, click on the mail note, and read/mark everything fine from there. But I'm screwed once I exit that. See, I can't just access gmail directly through the app. If I click on it, I get a black screen saying "your mail will appear shortly" and a note in the bar up top saying "waiting for sync". Just cleared Gmail data.
View 4 Replies View RelatedYou think that google would put forth a much better effort for the email app on Android but ironically, its just a giant epic fail Inbox view only? WTF was Google thinking? It really does suck that i have to use the web app in order to have the full functionality of gmail. I understand Google is moving forward with web apps and the cloud and all that but damn, they leave us hanging like that?
