Does Froyo offer a font settings box in Gmail and the Messages application? I surely hope so! The fonts are too small for me. Anyone investigated this issue?

Is there a was to make the font larger in the Gmail Application?
I know that the other email program works as well with Gmail, just not with my SMTP settings.
After upgrading to Froyo I can't seem to find the gmail settings anymore. I want to change the sync interval or w/e because every time I open the gmail app I get that "Loading conversations". Anyone know where to find it or is it gone in Froyo?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs much as I wanted to use the native Gmail app, the font size was just too small (seems like a common Android problem except in the browser). To remedy this I simply configured my Gmail (actually Google Apps) account as an IMAP account with the regular Android Mail. Here, font size is fully scalable (about six selections) and they apply to both reading email to typing new email. This will have to do until someone fixes the dedicated Gmail app font size. On the positive side, this actually works better in receiving email sent to the phone as it was definitely NOT full push with the Gmail app as it's supposed to be. Having them both setup it's easy to see that mail arrives much faster with the regular IMAP mail app than with the Gmail, which is really odd.

ebuddy: No froyo support
Meebo: Blows. Constant disconnects.
IM+: No longer supported
What I need:
1. AIM, Facebook, GChat, MSN
2. Remain signed in 24/7
3. Froyo support
I'm looking for a way to access the settings for the browser and mms apps programmatically. I know that there are APIs for browser content providers to add bookmarks and add search strings to the db. But is there a way to access any of the options such as text size, default zoom, etc. I've looked at the source but can't seem to find a way, as the preferences file is private and there being no content providers for these settings.

I don't want a whole theme, I actually like the stock, but I prefer the Msg app to be black like Fab's NexBeast/Fro since it's what I use most and the bright white gets annoying at night. I suppose I could just install Handcent, but I've had issues with it in the past.

I tried the stock messaging app and it's very slow too. I'm now trying chomp sms and it's still kinda slow as well. Is anybody having this problem? Could it be just a messaging bug in 2.2?

I got to about 300 text messages earlier, and got a message saying ".com.android.mms A large number of SMS messages are being sent. Select "ok" to continue or press "Cancel" to stop sending."
This pops up for every text message I send. Even when I clear my text messages, this comes up. I had to manually reboot my phone to clear that out. Not sure what was going on.
I have contact groups that I use in the desktop gmail client to send messages to distribution lists without any issues. Those groups get synced to my android contacts and I can see them in the groups tab. However, neither gmail nor any sms app that I have tried actually use these contact groups for anything.
Am I missing some setting for this to work or is this not implemented in android?

I recently decided to remake my UI, I had text built into my ImageViews which I was advised against, so I have now gone with TextViews, however I would like to carry on using the Roboto font. Is it possible to do so?
I have already added "Roboto-Light" to the assets/fonts folder but I'm looking for an easy way to implement it since I want some TextViews to have the font and some to be standard.
