View 3 RepliesI can receive picture messages but for some reason they just time out when sending them, I've attached a picture to a text and pressed send, but in Handcent the little timer just goes round and then about 20 minutes later it bleeps and tells me that it didn't go through. Is this a problem with Handcent/Desire or T-Mobile?

View 1 Replies View Relatedwithin the last month sending picture messages has become a joke. It takes like an hour almost all the time and sometimes they wont send at all. Anyone know whats going on with this? Regular texts work perfectly.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed today that sending a picture messages takes a loong time on my Droid--considerably longer than on my old feature phone. Usually, it takes around 3-4 minutes. One picture took around 10 minutes to send. My apartment has bad reception, but when I sent these messages I had 3g and 3 reception bars. Is this normal?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI successfully updated to the official Vodafone release using SEUS, loving the update so far but I've come across a problem with text messages.
Every couple of text messages they won't send and instead I get the message cannot be sent error. Trying repeated times has the same results then all of a sudden it will randomly work.
It can't be down to bad signal, last time the error came up I had full 'H' signal.
I also tried Handcent to see if using an app would make any difference but it didnt.
So I was using my the handcent sms app on my Droid today and all a sudden the person i was sending messages to was receiving the messages 3 times. Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSomeone please help learn how to send a picture mail.On the nexus one Dont know how to send pictures.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this had already been addressed but is anyone having trouble sending picture (or video, etc.) mms on the eris? I'm currently using handcent and it would not send any picture texts. The sending green bubble keeps spinning no matter how long I leave it. Then the text becomes "undelivered."
I also tried sending picture mms with the native message app and it got sent but the people I was trying to send it to said they didn't receive anything.
Just to prove that I used the search, the only related thread I found was where they asked the same question, and I guess the OP started using handcent as a solution, but I don't want to do that. When I go to send a picture, or receieve a picture, it shows up as a slideshow. How can I stop doing this and it just be a picture like any other phone would do?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I use whatsapp to send a picture,as I select it,from my gallery, and it asks me if I want to send it to my chosen contact and I say yes,it then sends the picture before I can add any text with it.So the recipient ends up getting two messages from me,the picture and then the the text.My phone is Motorola MotoG with KitKat4.4.2,if that makes any difference?
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody else have a problem with sending and receiving picture messages with the Droid Eris? I can take them and post them to Facebook easily, but I can't e-mail or send a text message with a picture in it. Also, when someone sends me a picture message, it shows an icon to download it, but then it always says it was unsuccessful.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I send a picture I received in an email, and send it to another email.
View 3 Replies View RelatedCan someone guide me to what is the best way to send picture/video to an email contact? I am currently using 1.6 tweaked v3 and the problem is if I can't send message using the message app(because can't find email contacts) but have to go through contacts (gmail)to send a picture. However when I do that, I can't attach a video. Now if I use the camera/camcorder app, while reviewing pictures the "send to" doesn't work. If i click on "default destination" and delete the emply destination I can choose between 5 options. The phone book option say "sorry!" the application has stopped unexpectedly and to force close. I can send video using the video player which is weird since doing it in the camcorder app won't work!. Seems alot of round about ways to do something which should be simple.
View 4 Replies View RelatedPicture taken with camera on phone wont send when using the share option. When I go the the gmail outbox there listed with sending in red letters.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a search on this and didn't come up with any hits for the inc.If I want to send a long message (over 160 characters) I use to be able to send as mms on my bb and it would not break the message up into seperate messages like it did on regular sms.How do I do this on the Inc? I looked for a mms option when texting and didn't find one. I am using Handcent and shapewriter for a keyboard, but also looked on the stock messaging app and didn't see one there either.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI lowered my resolution to VGA and i was actually able to send the video message but it took forever (and it was only a 6 second video) and then i got a text back saying that my friends phone couldnt support the file or somethin. He just got a Droid X so I dont see why it would say that and he has unlimited data.Anybody else having problems sending video messages?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got an app that lets users send sms messages. Works great when the message < 160 characters. After that, things work less-perfectly. Seems like there are a few options here:
Manually break the message up into multiple SMSs, send each part as a separate SMS. Use the multi-part send SMS function (sendMultipartTextMessage()). Send the message as an MMS message (sendDataMessage()?).
Here's my novice take on it:
1)most well supported across carriers. Users may get mad that you just cost them N separate messages though, instead of converting to MMS or something.
2)not sure if this is supported by different carriers, and read that once the message is greater than 3 * 160 chars in length, gets converted to MMS anyway by different SMS apps - maybe stay away from this altogether.
3)not sure how to do this, and older phones might not support MMS. To send an MMS using the android SDK, do we just use the SmsManager.sendDataMessage() method?
Just had to reboot my phone because my text messages were not sending and giving me some cryptic error that didnt tell me anything worthwhile.Wondering if anyone has seen this on their Eris? I've read about text message issues on the Hero, but so far not anything about the Eris yet. Hopefully it was just a 1-time fluke up until then it's been working perfectly for 3 days now, and its working perfectly fine again now.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Handcent last night and everyone I send SMS to is getting either half of what I sent or nothing at all. any ideas on what is wrong?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not have a device. I am testing on the emulator. When I send a message(problematically and through the device) with special characters I am not able to view them properly. For Example: When I send a message from one emulator to another say "~Ha". I see only the character "~" in the other emulator.
But when I send the same message from the DDMS, I do not see the problem. Is this a problem with the emulator or am i missing somthing. sm.sendTextMessage("5556", null, "~Ha", null, null);
I have G1. I write python scripts using ASE. I have to send around 1000 SMSes using SMS API in ASE. I wonder if G1 will be able to hold up-to that? moreover, how much pause (time gap/ sleep) should I give between each message sent. Some of my colleges think that its a crazy idea. I should go for GSM modem. What do you think, is this feasible enough? Can G1 enough capable? I dont have dev version.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo when sending text messages, I get the following message every single time i press 'send'
"com.android.mms A large number of text SMS messages are being sent. Select 'ok' to send"
So.....I did send out 100+ messages within like 5 minutes...just sending out a mass txt message letting people know of my new number. So is this Androids way of anti-spam?
I need a way to turn it off, because now I have to make this extra step every single time i send a text message
