Just had to reboot my phone because my text messages were not sending and giving me some cryptic error that didnt tell me anything worthwhile.Wondering if anyone has seen this on their Eris? I've read about text message issues on the Hero, but so far not anything about the Eris yet. Hopefully it was just a 1-time fluke up until then it's been working perfectly for 3 days now, and its working perfectly fine again now.

This is an odd problem I have. When I reboot my phone, it sends only a select few people previous text messages I've sent them. The only program I can see that could be causing it is SMS Pop Up, but I don't know if that is a culprit or has been known to do that. My girlfriend who was sitting next to me started getting text messages. She received about 13 instantly from me that she previously received from me.Can anyone decipher this dilemma?

For instance, a text that I sent days ago will send again on power on and sometimes this gets kind of awkward does anybody know a fix or anything to this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone is incapable of sending MMS messages...everytime I try, the phone goes to send the message, but never completes sending. I have tried the default message app, as well as Handcent.Same results with both. Any tips for what I may be doing wrong? Only other piece of info that might be relevant is that the picture I'm trying to send first says "picture too large - resize?" and then I do resize it (comes out at 9k I believe).
View 15 Replies View RelatedI successfully updated to the official Vodafone release using SEUS, loving the update so far but I've come across a problem with text messages.
Every couple of text messages they won't send and instead I get the message cannot be sent error. Trying repeated times has the same results then all of a sudden it will randomly work.
It can't be down to bad signal, last time the error came up I had full 'H' signal.
I also tried Handcent to see if using an app would make any difference but it didnt.
So when sending text messages, I get the following message every single time i press 'send'
"com.android.mms A large number of text SMS messages are being sent. Select 'ok' to send"
So.....I did send out 100+ messages within like 5 minutes...just sending out a mass txt message letting people know of my new number. So is this Androids way of anti-spam?
I need a way to turn it off, because now I have to make this extra step every single time i send a text message
What class can we use to send a text message? I tried this on the emulator, 2.0:

And that works ok. On my G1 running 1.5, I get a verify error, guessing because SmsManager is not available in 1.5. Maybe for 1.5 we need to use the deprecated class?:
android.telephony.gsm.SmsManager
Is that correct, or is there some other class we're supposed to use for sending text messages?
I just got my xperia yesterday but for some reason i cant seem to send text messages when i put my sim in the new phone. i can receive them, make and receive calls and get on the internet no problem. i have also tried resetting the factory settings twice!
View 11 Replies View RelatedIve noticed that when I send a text and the phone is out of signal, it just says, "FAILED" and calls it a day. I miss my blackberry in this respect, it would wait until it DID have signal and then would automatically resend. Is there any way to set this phone up so it automatically resends when I get signal back? I do get it sometimes where it says that its saving the texts until signal is rereached, however, lets say I get one bar back, well the phone "sees" that Im getting signal, tries to send, and then fails, and then calls it a day....

So if they have a work, home and mobile it also gives me the ability to send messages to all 3 of those numbers, why? If I send a text I only want it going to their mobile....is everyones contacts set up like this?

First, it only lets me send to 10 contacts, but more importantly when I sent it the message shows up 10 times in same window. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using Handcent since I've had my Desire, but since the last few updates it seems to have developed a fault when sending the same sms message to multiple contacts. If I send a message to say 3 people, it either force closes, or comes up with the error message not sent. If it comes up with the latter, the messages are queued & sent 1 after the other. I was able to do this no problem before, so has anyone else experienced this in Handcent?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been having a problem recently with my phone sending text messages to random nonsensical numbers. i.e. I get a message failure because the phone tried to text "0110000100000" which is obviously not a phone number. I had installed handcent almost immeadiatly upon getting the phone. So I tried uninstalling it and putting on chomp. Still have the same problem. It seems to help if I use my task killer after using the sms app.
I am running the original firmware that came on the phone from Rogers, as everytime I use pc companion, it tells me i am up to date, and the update service locks up my computer (and my laptop and my wife's netbook).
I would rather not do a factory reset, but I am getting pretty close.
What I need is i have pre-defined list of 10 people and I need to send text message (sms only not mms) to them from time to time. There is no Chat needed, no MMS, no threading. Only sending sms to a list. I tried GoSMS, Handcet.. but couldnt achieved.

Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. View 6 Replies View RelatedI get a poor signal at home (did on my Nokia), so half the time when I send a text, there won't be a signal to send it. I always then go and put my phone in a place where there is a signal and leave it..
With my Nokias, the phone would send it fairly quickly (usually within 10-15 minutes).
The message is still sat in Handcent with the whirling round icon next to it. If I copy the message, and resend it, whilst there's a signal, away it goes. I can't find any way to force the send when I want, and I left the resend in a signal area for 1hr 15 mins and it still hadn't sent..
I used to be able to send pics in text messages, but the last few I sent come up as sent but with a speech bubble and clock symbol on it. And these pic messages with this symbol aren't being received by the person I'm sending them to.I can't figure out what its all about.
