Just to prove that I used the search, the only related thread I found was where they asked the same question, and I guess the OP started using handcent as a solution, but I don't want to do that. When I go to send a picture, or receieve a picture, it shows up as a slideshow. How can I stop doing this and it just be a picture like any other phone would do?

Every damn picture I get, I have to make sure to look at it fast before 2 seconds end and the damn picture disappears, because for some reason, HTC decided slideshow view for all their damn picture messages was a good idea. Pressing the pause button doesn't work at all, as it just turns the screen black for whatever freakin reason.

Mine is only about 1 inch by 1/2 inch.I can barely even get 1/2 a face in the picture.How do you get a bigger picture?I'm running LauncherPro, is that effecting it?Since I couldn't get a bigger picture, I decided to try and add the slide show widget. But when I try, it says Widget Conflict only one photo slideshow per home screen. I don't have any other slideshow widgets on my screen. Any ideas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an app for Android 2.1 upwards. I want to enable my users to select a profile picture within my app (I'm not using the contacts framework). The ideal solution would be to fire an intent that enables the user to select an image from the gallery, but if an appropriate image is not available then use the camera to take a picture (or vice-versa i.e. allow user to take picture but if they know they already have a suitable image already, let them drop into the gallery and pick said image). Currently I can do one or the other but not both.
If I go directly into camera mode using MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE then there is no option to drop into the gallery. If I go directly to the gallery using Intent.ACTION_PICK then I can pick an image but if I click the camera button (in top right hand corner of gallery) then a new camera intent is fired. So, any picture that is taken is not returned directly to my application. (Sure you can press the back button to drop back into the gallery and select image from there but this is an extra unnecessary step and is not at all intuitive). So is there a way to combine both or am I going to have to offer a menu to do one or the other from within my application? Seems like it would be a common use case, surely I'm missing something?
Is there a way for sending a single message to multiple recipients for the message to be placed inside the conversation for each individual instead of creating a new thread for that one message?
I downloaded the Handcent App and even it does the same thing as the stock app. It appears there's an option to split the message up as described when sent to a group. But it still creates the new thread whenever sending to individual names.
If you're only running a single screen(as I am) what would be the correct size for a picture to fit perfectly? I can't seem to figure it out.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can receive picture messages but for some reason they just time out when sending them, I've attached a picture to a text and pressed send, but in Handcent the little timer just goes round and then about 20 minutes later it bleeps and tells me that it didn't go through.Is this a problem with Handcent/Desire or T-Mobile?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure if this had already been addressed but is anyone having trouble sending picture (or video, etc.) mms on the eris? I'm currently using handcent and it would not send any picture texts. The sending green bubble keeps spinning no matter how long I leave it. Then the text becomes "undelivered."
I also tried sending picture mms with the native message app and it got sent but the people I was trying to send it to said they didn't receive anything.
within the last month sending picture messages has become a joke. It takes like an hour almost all the time and sometimes they wont send at all. Anyone know whats going on with this? Regular texts work perfectly.

I am currently using 1.6 tweaked v3 and the problem is if I can't send message using the message app(because can't find email contacts) but have to go through contacts (gmail)to send a picture. However when I do that, I can't attach a video. Now if I use the camera/camcorder app, while reviewing pictures the "send to" doesn't work. If i click on "default destination" and delete the emply destination I can choose between 5 options. The phone book option say "sorry!" the application has stopped unexpectedly and to force close. I can send video using the video player which is weird since doing it in the camcorder app won't work!. Seems alot of round about ways to do something which should be simple.

So as of a Tuesday the 9th all my mms messages are starting to show as a group now instead of having to open them one by one. Anyone else notice this? Did HTC/verizon push a hidden/secret update? I had coupled friends resend me some multi picture texts from before and know they work like they should. Any input? Are they working on 2.1?

How do I hear this? I was able to 'save' it, but I can't find it with Astro. I have heard I could email it to myself and it will arrive as a .wav - but if that would work, how do I do it?
I thought there was something built in that would allow me to do slide shows with my pictures. However now that I'm looking for it I can't find it. Is there a way to do a slide show? I would really like an app I can start while my phone is docked so it works as a kind of screen saver/photo frame.

I had just never tried/played it. So I figured I would start a new post in case anyone else has this issue in the future.
