I got a plantronics 975 that worked awesome on my old mogul. The Bluetooth is synced fine and it works incalls but I can't use if to voice dial or answer/hangup. How can I get the same functions back?

I want to go back to Talk from Hangouts on the Note 2 and Hangouts. I had noticed that there was an option to uninstall Hangouts in Google Play sometime back, but now, today, September 2, I can no longer find that option. I also tried to go into Application Manager and uninstall it from there. It's not there.
I currently am able to connect my android phone to my computer (via bluetooh) to transfer files but I want to be able to use my computer headset to receive/dial calls to/from my phone. This would be just like I can already do in my car over bluetooth.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to push contacts from my HTC Magic to my Camry over bluetooth? I cannot find a way on the phone to beam or send or push contacts and the car requires the transfer to begin from the phone. I have sucessfully paired my phone and the car. I am suspecting that the present bluetooth stack for the Magic does not include the profile necessary to beam contacts, but would appreciate any insight from anyone. Is this something that could be available in the future?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using IMO for Instant Messaging and so i removed the TALK app from my Nexus one (running Oxygen Rom) using Titanium backup.Recently there was an update in TALK app and i wanted to try it (Hangouts) so i installed it from the playstore. It was very slow on my mobile so i removed it again.
Now i am getting Talk notifications (with the old TALK icon) in the notification bar. along with the IMO notifications. When i click on the Talk notifications it does not open any app. and the messages that are notified by TALK are missing in the IMO app so its very frustrating.
So i thought it must be the HANGOUTS app and re installed it from the Play Store. Now i get Hangout notification, Talk notification and IMO notification. I removed the Hangouts app from the Application Manager and i still getting the TALK notifications.
I have slim halo 4.2.2 on my gs2 but I'm thinking this is a more general issue.

I just got my Evo yesterday, and so far everything has been great! I did most of the suggestions in the battery fix threads, and I managed to only drop to about 60% battery after 24 hours, even with decent usage. The problem that I discovered today was that I seem to be unable to pair to any Bluetooth devices after turning the radio back on (first time trying to pair). When I turn everything on, I simply can't see anything when I search for devices. I put the earpiece that I'm trying to link to in discovery mode, and the phone never sees it. Neither does it see the printer Bluetooth interface or the PC Bluetooth. The printer, at least, should be always discoverable.Finally, I tried linking to my wife's phone, and it could neither see her phone when I set it to discoverable, nor could her phone see mine when I made it discoverable.It looks to me as if my Bluetooth radio is completely non-functional, but does anyone know if there may be something simple that I'm missing? A hidden setting or a Bluetooth diagnostic test that I could run (loopback or other)? Does anyone know if the Bluetooth module is integrated on the main PCA or is a add-on module that might be disconnected?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm coming from windows mobile here so I'm not sure if this is an Android thing or the Incredible specifically, but the bluetooth implementation absolutely sucks. I'm using the phone with the Plantronics 975, which is an absolutely fantastic earpiece. The problem is that it NEVER automatically reconnects to the headset after moving out of range and then back in. I've also verified this with an old motorola headset, so the phone is the problem. With my Touch Pro 2, I could walk outside to my car to get something with the earpiece still in my ear, and the phone would disconnect and then automatically reconnect when I get back inside. Not only does the Incredible not do this, but when I come back in, even after pressing the button on the bluetooth headset (which I didn't have to do on WinMo) it just says "paired but not connected" in bluetooth settings. In order to get the phone to reconnect with the headset, I have to turn bluetooth off, back on, go into wifi settings and click "connect" EVERY SINGLE TIME I go out of range and back in range. Coupled with the infamous lack of touchless voice dialing, I am seriously dissapointed in Android's implementation of bluetooth, and don't understand how Google can put out a phone that sucks so bad as a phone - especially when in many states such as mine, a bluetooth headset is the ONLY legal way to use your phone when you drive. Any ideas how to fix this annoying problem or am I just stuck with it?

Here is my problem, When I hang up from a bluetooth call my screen automatically comes back on in my pocket. Then I end up with a pocket dial. I can not tell you how frustrating this is. I can not find a setting to solve this problem. If I answer via blue tooth why is my screen coming on after the call.

Anyhow - I need to know if there is some way to push data to the phone from a server. I'd prefer to avoid using SMS to push (user charges), or constantly polling the server (lets see, every 5 seconds = 12 times a minute, 720 times an hour, over 17000 a day)
Does the backlight while on a call using speaker or bluetooth shut off a lot faster now.

Everytime I use bluetooth, it works for a small period of time and then hangs itself... It simply disconnects and refuses to pair again... This happens with my stereo headset and also with the Wiimote I use for playing games on the phone... At first I thougnt this might be an issue with the headset (which didnt have the best reception, choppy audio and bad quality, specially for an official SE headset) but I really noticed the issue after I started using my Wii remote to play games on the phone since I know the remote works flawlessly on the Wii itself... The problem is that it stops working, refuses to pair again and when I turn off Bluetooth, it doesnt turn on again, no matter how long I try, forcing me to restart the phone... Only to work again after rebooting and hanging again after some use...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with Push email on my HTC Desire. I can set this up no problem - email comes in but only manually. I cannot get the push to actually work. When I go into the send receive schedule I can set up the days/hours for peak off peak and push but regardless of what I set these to be, when I go back to the previous screen it always says the Schedule is Manual. I've tried setting up lots of variations from manual through timed to push but still the same. Net result is push never seems to happen - manual overrides my schedule. To pick up email I have to go into email and do a manual sync.

As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
I have looked all over the place. Here in the forums, online, user manuals, etc. What I am looking for: When I am texting, I see above the "A" key is an alt symbol that looks like an arrow pointing to the right with a verticle line. It appears to be an ALT-function of some sort. What is it? What does it do?

Looking for a way to do sports mode and the many other camera modes that cell phones offer. I upgraded from an htc touch pro 2, although it did not come with sports mode initially enabled, there were registry fixes that allowed this to happen. Looking for options to use for business. Being a small company I can go anyway I want, don't have any restrictions other than need to sync all with phone, laptop and desktop. Beginning to travel more so contact, calendar and task must sync (notes and a Today front end would be nice). I have tried Dejaoffice but I end up with 2 sets of contacts and calendars (Samsung and Dejaoffice) not to mention that the UI is lame (had just as good 15 years ago with Instant Recall). Don't mind rooting the phone if needed. So what options exist in the open source world? Love my captivate phone but need to be able to do business to keep it. Anxious to hear how the rest of the Android world does it.
