General :: PlayerPro Running On Startup - Unknown Album / Artist?
May 18, 2012Whenever I boot my SGS2, PlayerPro Automatically starts (shows up in the notification bar, but doesn't play any music.), it states that it's playing a blank song (no name) by an unknown artist/album. I've cleared PP's data & cache, rebooted, done everything I can think if. How can I prevent this? GT-I9100

Aug 12, 2010For some of the albums/songs it says Unknown Artist but when I look at the files they are all in the proper folders with correct names. I added music using DoubleTwist if that helps.

Nov 19, 2009I have about 13GB of music on my SD card. A few of the albums show up as "Unknown artist" (everything else is correct: song name, album name, album art). It is kind of annoying.
Anyone else have this problem. I have spent a lot of time tagging my music. I know my music is tagged correctly b/c it works just fine in Winamp, iTunes, iPod, Songbird, etc.
Samsung Galaxy S :: Swype Not Working Properly After Froyo Update
Nov 20, 2010After upgrading to Froyo 2.2, Swype started to behave strangely. I noticed that with Froyo 2.2, Swype also got a newer version. However, the performance is much worst when compared to the previous version. Here is the summary of the issues which i noticed:
1. Incorrect word recognition. 30%-40% increase in incorrect recognition
2. Much higher CPU usage (hence battery drain)
3. Very bad performance in portrait mode as compared to landscape mode

Dec 27, 2009My girlfriend made me several mix CD's for Christmas, and I'd very much prefer to just rip them to my Droid since I use that as my primary MP3 player now. The problem I'm having is that even though I place the ripped MP3's into a folder named as I want it to appear under artists, and then the subfolder named as I want the album to appear in the music player, once I go into the player on my Droid it just says "Unknown Artist" then "Unknown Album." I don't understand why it's doing this, because I have the folder named the way I want them to appear and it's not working, yet other music I downloaded in my music folder is correctly showing up on the player. To better illustrate what I mean: In my music folder on the SD card, I just added a folder "CD1" with the album "Album1" inside that, with the tracks inside that. INstead of on the player it being displayed as "CD1" under artist" and then "album 1" under the album drop down, it just says "Unknown Artist" and then "Unknown Album," but the tracks are there.

Album Artist: A
Is there a music player that'll classify the song under artist A as opposed to under "A ft B"? I really don't want 50 entries in my artist list because of "featuring" song. Does anyone know if some music player app classifies songs this way? And having an equalizer would be a plus.

Jul 31, 2010Coming from a Iphone to the X the music player is a little lacking. Often I will go into a certain artist and want to play all the songs by that artist, or thumb through all their songs to find a certain one. On the stock music player on the X this seems hard to do (maybe I'm missing something).
if I pull up the music by artist and select a certain artist then it shows me all their albums (The iphone has the option at this point to select all albums and see all the songs of that artist in alphabetical order). The X doesn't give a option to select all albums at this point. If I go to artists and long press on a certain artist I can select play and it will start playing all that artists songs, then I can hit pause and go into the list from that point to see all the songs but they seem to be in a random order making it hard to find a specific song.
I've tried a couple other players and haven't been able to find one that functions like the Iphone, makes it hard to quickly find one song.

May 16, 2010So I just recently updated to the 2.1 and I've been having lots of trouble with contacts. Every single one of my contacts in my call history is listed as unknown even though I have them all in "people". Furthermore, when I go to Messages>Compose message and type in a person's name in where it says "To" they do not come up in the search results despite being part of of my "people" contacts. Is there anyway I can fix this without having to reset my enitre phone?

Sep 19, 2010My phone died on me Saturday night so I took it home and put it on the charger. When it came back on, it told me my software had been successfully updated to some kind of version 3.2.something. I didn't pay attention to what it said had been updated, I just thought "cool" and hit OK. Well once I hit ok, things start force closing. I reset the phone and Color Notes stops unexpectedly immediately. Lots of my widgets say "Problem loading gadget". At least 3 out of 5 on each home screen. Lots of my apps will not open. They open then immediately close. Lookout will not initialize. Pandora closes immediately. Also, I lost most all of my contacts. My Google contacts are still there, but all the Phone contacts are gone. My call log is gone. Internet history. Some settings are gone like default program settings and sound settings. My wallpaper, emails from my Gmail account as well as settings, unlock password, calendar entries, and some other things are still there on the phone. I have NO IDEA what the hell happened, but I would really like to try to get this fixed without hard resetting my phone.

I get the little "swype mark" blue streak deal, and it makes the noise, but no word appears in the text box area. I've tried it on the internet, handcent, and normal messages.

Oct 4, 2010Today my swype trial expired and the forum at xda was updated and removed the apk due to the swype developers request. I tried an uninstall and reinstall of version 1.61.37xxxx from my SD card but it was for naught.
Also the NFL mobile app gave me the "you are not a Verizon wireless customer" message on start up and I did an uninstall and reinstall of that as well and it was a no go. I remember this happened before and you just needed to get the new apk but I can't find it anywhere.

May 27, 2010I looked around and couldn't find anything specific to an un-rooted N1. I used to have the original leaked version of Swype and it worked fine. I downloaded the Swype Beta when it came out and have been having all kinds of problems with if freezing. I've tried un-installing and re-installing and it still happens. Can someone tell me how to fix it or post a link to the original leaked version?

Mar 29, 2010I downloaded swype, (nexus friendly version from XDA). Ive installed it, and when I open a text field, I can use it.
I can tap the letters to type, but when I swype my finger, the whole keyboard becomes highlighted around the edges. Its not registering the swype, but I registers taps.
HTC Aria :: Working Swype With No Root Necessary
Nov 16, 2010I've got a working .apk I found here for Swype on the Aria. Been searching for it cause I figured I'd like it best on a screen the size of the Aria's. I installed it on my stock device with no root using the Wonder Machine. Just figured I'd share.
