HTC Wildfire :: Working Swype Or Alternative
Nov 5, 2010Does anyone have an alternative to Swype that works on the Wildfire? I didn't want to spend money trying a bunch out to find they only work on non qvga screens.

HTC Wildfire :: Alternative To Itunes & HTC Sync For Wildfire
Aug 15, 2010I am not happy with the sync thingy or it's attempt to use itunes. I wanted to get away from itunes/ Apple altogether.I have had a go at media monkey but it is a long way off filling my needs.But I have found Sony's Media Go.Media Go: Download - Sony Media Software and Services Inc.It is not perfect by a long shot but at least my Wildfire can use the playlists it creates and does a nice job on getting my podcasts in some kind of order.
The thing I miss most from my itunes/iphone setup is play count and ability to manage the correct placement of folders on the wildfire.Please can we have a discussion on your setup on this matter and what you peeps use for your media management.

Nov 5, 2010After some googling, i saw this has happened before, i had it for first time 2-3 days ago. It just stopped updating, when i try to open it, it crashes, i cant remove my accounts from it because it crashes, clearing of cache didnt help, reboot also does not help.

Nov 7, 2010Purchased a HTC Wildfire the other week and i didn't know it was contracted to 3 network so i paid to unlock it so i could put my orange SIM inside it. However after connecting my phone to my router via WiFi all seemed well until i went out and attempted to use my mobile Internet. I've set up the vpn for Orange Internet but still not able to use browser market etc. Wondering if anyone has ideas?

Jun 2, 2010I tried to install Swype. It installed no problem, and I can select it as an input method. All is good, untill I try to swype a word. I get the little "swype mark" blue streak deal, and it makes the noise, but no word appears in the text box area. I've tried it on the internet, handcent, and normal messages.

Oct 4, 2010Today my swype trial expired and the forum at xda was updated and removed the apk due to the swype developers request. I tried an uninstall and reinstall of version 1.61.37xxxx from my SD card but it was for naught.
Also the NFL mobile app gave me the "you are not a Verizon wireless customer" message on start up and I did an uninstall and reinstall of that as well and it was a no go. I remember this happened before and you just needed to get the new apk but I can't find it anywhere.
Nexus :: Swype Beta Not Working On N1
May 27, 2010I looked around and couldn't find anything specific to an un-rooted N1. I used to have the original leaked version of Swype and it worked fine. I downloaded the Swype Beta when it came out and have been having all kinds of problems with if freezing. I've tried un-installing and re-installing and it still happens. Can someone tell me how to fix it or post a link to the original leaked version?

Mar 29, 2010I downloaded swype, (nexus friendly version from XDA). Ive installed it, and when I open a text field, I can use it.
I can tap the letters to type, but when I swype my finger, the whole keyboard becomes highlighted around the edges. Its not registering the swype, but I registers taps.
HTC Aria :: Working Swype With No Root Necessary
Nov 16, 2010I've got a working .apk I found here for Swype on the Aria. Been searching for it cause I figured I'd like it best on a screen the size of the Aria's. I installed it on my stock device with no root using the Wonder Machine. Just figured I'd share.

General :: Wildfire S With CM7 - Remove SD / All Apps Linked Or On SD Stop Working
Apr 13, 2012I have a Wildfire S with CM7. I have almost all apps linked to SD including GO Launcher using Link2SD, and I moved cache to SD as well.
When I remove my SD and reinsert it, all of the apps linked or moved stop working and I can't restore them with Titanium Backup
So I have to restore my ROM Backup and use Titanium Backup to restore them, which app I have to put in internal memory so that I don't get this problem ???
General :: HTC Wildfire S Stock Email And Yahoo Mail Not Working?
Jul 31, 2012When ever I try to log in to either my yahoo mail app or my stock email app. I get an error message
Ever since I got my phone which was 3 days ago I couldn't login to the stock email app
The stock email apps gives me this error message: Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password.
I know im not putting in the wrong email and password, because I logged into my email just perfectly on the computer. And I am NOT connected to wifi when I try to login
I downloaded yahoo mail. It was working fine until this morning. When i tried to login it gave me an error message SSL certificate-check date and time error
Also on the stock email app, does have the ability to add more than one account? I never been in the stock app because it won't let me log in. I would love to continue using yahoo mail (if it ever starts working again) but I only have about 25mb left of memory. And the reason I prefer to use that app instead of the stock email is because it allows to add more than one account.
HTC Eris :: Swype Not Working Correctly After Rooted To 2.0
Apr 8, 2010I've got my phone up and running with sense-able 2.0 but for some reason swype is not working correctly. It never seems to make the line all the way to the letter I'm trying to type. Its like this for every letter. Its especially missing the last letter it usually ends up a couple letters away from where I end up. I was using it just fine when I wasn't rooted and on 1.5 but now its giving me problems. I've even tried playing with the settings and it doesn't seem to help. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

May 10, 2010I downloaded and have been using swype for over a week now. Last night I switched back to the standard keyboard for something and then tried to switch back to swype. Now it doesn't work. When I go to the keyboard, it's just still the standard keyboard. Any thoughts?

Jun 28, 2010With the new version, every 2-3 days my Swype keyboard stops working. I can type normally (pushing individual letters), but swyping doesn't work.
If I re-install, it will work again, but only for a few days. I always install after killing tasks/widgets like it says, but hasn't helped the longer-term problem.

Aug 1, 2010I had wireless tether working before going to 2.2. Now it appears to be working on the phone, but on the computer it shows "Local Only". I tried uninstalling, rebooting then reinstalling... no luck with that.
Also, I am part of the Swype Beta. I had Swype resend the email when I updated to 2.2 and reinstalled. It works until I reboot my phone, then it goes into "tap only" mode. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Oct 18, 2012I was prompted to update swype this morning. I did so, and now everytime I select swype it closes automatically and I get the android keyboard.
- Swype Beta is checked in Language & Input (android keyboard is selected and grey in this screen)
- Choose Input Method screen. I select "Swype Beta". It flashes to Swype. Then reverts back to Android keyboard immediately
- I have cleared cache, etc. and rebooted the phone. This brought me to the new swype EULA and activation process. Which I did successfully. I rechecked all settings.
- I have since uninstalled. Reinstalled. Reactivated. Selected. Rebooted. Etc. Nothing.
Still nothing but silence from Swype about this set of issues that are spreading like wildfire across multiple Android forums I am a member of.

Sep 10, 2010my version of swype my Droid Eris was working fine the other. All I did was shut my phone off and turn it back on and now it seems like it doesn't track my finger frequently enough to do double letters anymore... anyone else have this problem? How do I go about fixing it?

Nov 20, 2010After upgrading to Froyo 2.2, Swype started to behave strangely. I noticed that with Froyo 2.2, Swype also got a newer version. However, the performance is much worst when compared to the previous version. Here is the summary of the issues which i noticed:
1. Incorrect word recognition. 30%-40% increase in incorrect recognition
2. Much higher CPU usage (hence battery drain)
3. Very bad performance in portrait mode as compared to landscape mode

Sep 20, 2010I followed the directions the e-mail gave me. I downloaded it got the site and got the new version (2.4.44.10912.t100) and then when I try swyping to type I get the same blue box I did when it was outdated. Why does swype have to be such a pain to use.
