Motorola Droid :: Swype Still Not Working After Installing Newest Betal
Sep 20, 2010I followed the directions the e-mail gave me. I downloaded it got the site and got the new version (2.4.44.10912.t100) and then when I try swyping to type I get the same blue box I did when it was outdated. Why does swype have to be such a pain to use.

Jun 2, 2010I tried to install Swype. It installed no problem, and I can select it as an input method. All is good, untill I try to swype a word. I get the little "swype mark" blue streak deal, and it makes the noise, but no word appears in the text box area. I've tried it on the internet, handcent, and normal messages.

Oct 4, 2010Today my swype trial expired and the forum at xda was updated and removed the apk due to the swype developers request. I tried an uninstall and reinstall of version 1.61.37xxxx from my SD card but it was for naught.
Also the NFL mobile app gave me the "you are not a Verizon wireless customer" message on start up and I did an uninstall and reinstall of that as well and it was a no go. I remember this happened before and you just needed to get the new apk but I can't find it anywhere.
Nexus :: Swype Beta Not Working On N1
May 27, 2010I looked around and couldn't find anything specific to an un-rooted N1. I used to have the original leaked version of Swype and it worked fine. I downloaded the Swype Beta when it came out and have been having all kinds of problems with if freezing. I've tried un-installing and re-installing and it still happens. Can someone tell me how to fix it or post a link to the original leaked version?

I can tap the letters to type, but when I swype my finger, the whole keyboard becomes highlighted around the edges. Its not registering the swype, but I registers taps.
HTC Aria :: Working Swype With No Root Necessary
Nov 16, 2010I've got a working .apk I found here for Swype on the Aria. Been searching for it cause I figured I'd like it best on a screen the size of the Aria's. I installed it on my stock device with no root using the Wonder Machine. Just figured I'd share.

While I still have it on my phone as an option, I switched back to using SwiftKey anyway. I'm just so use to it I can't go back to Swype.

Sep 30, 2010I bought a used Droid 2 from ebay the other day and I got it and went to switch keyboards and I found that Swype wasnt on there. I double checked Motorola's website and it advertises the Droid 2 with swype pre-installed. Did I just get stiffed? Or do I need to find an apk somewhere to get swype?

Apr 8, 2010I've got my phone up and running with sense-able 2.0 but for some reason swype is not working correctly. It never seems to make the line all the way to the letter I'm trying to type. Its like this for every letter. Its especially missing the last letter it usually ends up a couple letters away from where I end up. I was using it just fine when I wasn't rooted and on 1.5 but now its giving me problems. I've even tried playing with the settings and it doesn't seem to help. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Jun 28, 2010With the new version, every 2-3 days my Swype keyboard stops working. I can type normally (pushing individual letters), but swyping doesn't work.
If I re-install, it will work again, but only for a few days. I always install after killing tasks/widgets like it says, but hasn't helped the longer-term problem.
HTC Incredible :: Wifi Tether & Swype Not Working On 2.2
Aug 1, 2010I had wireless tether working before going to 2.2. Now it appears to be working on the phone, but on the computer it shows "Local Only". I tried uninstalling, rebooting then reinstalling... no luck with that.
Also, I am part of the Swype Beta. I had Swype resend the email when I updated to 2.2 and reinstalled. It works until I reboot my phone, then it goes into "tap only" mode. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Different colors at the bottom, delete the color from the file name when placing on sdcard. i.e. blueupdate.zip > update.zip
MUST BE DEODEXED
All Swypes have matching tracers
All these are for 2.2, there is no reason you shouldnt be on 2.2
Original images from bilbobrian, just some extra days on my part getting it to you
As always do a back up
If on 2.2 and have boot strapper installed to use this update .zip, throw it on sd card, open droid x bootstraper reboot to recovery, apply update.zip, reboot done!
........ without bootstrapper method...........if you want just the apk for a different color just extract it from the update.zip file use root explorer or other app to make a copy of your original app ( its in system/app)
First you must remove swype.apk from system/app any way of your choosing, terminal or adb, then reboot.
Follow the following directions
Put the .apk on your sdcard, navigate to it with astro or your fav file browser, open the apk and choose install. If it still says only gives you the option to uninstall, you didnt uninstall correctly. if you can get it to show up after install go into settings and keyboard and make sure swype is checked
DONE
................ If you somehow botched it...............
restore your back up.
If you were careless enough to not do a back up and your on 2.2 get a clean download here.. MY droid world 2.2 follow those instructions. then download file again, your last one might of been bad. When in recovery go to mounts and mount system, then install the zip
Motorola Droid :: App - Can't Uninstall Swype
Mar 8, 2010I have version 0.35.3989 installed for Swype. Every time I try to uninstall it says "Uninstall not successful"
I am using Astro to uninstall this version of Swype.
I can install the beta one that they just released, but it then tells me a version of Swype is already installed.
Any idea how to uninstall this app?

Sep 2, 2010How do you turn swype off in text messaging? My sister turned it on hers and she wants it off.I personally use Handscent and the physical keyboard. She uses touch screen only and says she used to have words come up as she was typing and now it wont do that either.

Oct 6, 2010So i posted this thread about Swype accuracy diminishing, Swype accuracy diminishing and took the advice posted by others. Now that I've changed my screen protector, and adjust my settings, im still getting wrong words all the time. It pretty much defeats the purpose (for me) of using swype, which was speed. I have to proof read every sentence and find at least one word that is completely wrong. My most recent instance it used "lsat" for last. I dont know what an lsat is, but i know its not a word ive used intentionally before, and added it to swype's "vocabulary". I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling Handcent. But that uses the same ole swype. I want it to start over, forget every word it thinks i use. Somewhere over the way (during the last 2-3 weeks) it got this idea that i make up new words every sentence.
