Much like the music app does i want to access the name of the song (not the name of the file) or the artist or album. For example, i want to populate a list view with the names of all the songs on the phone.

Is there a music player app that Classifies the songs by ALBUM artist and no by "song artist". For example, if I have a song with an ID3 tag as follows:
Contributing Artist: A ft. B
Album Artist: A
Is there a music player that'll classify the song under artist A as opposed to under "A ft B"? I really don't want 50 entries in my artist list because of "featuring" song. Does anyone know if some music player app classifies songs this way? And having an equalizer would be a plus.
I am looking for a music streaming/album art/artist api that can be used for commercial purposes. So far I have been unable to locate one as most out there can't be used for commercial purposes

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend made me several mix CD's for Christmas, and I'd very much prefer to just rip them to my Droid since I use that as my primary MP3 player now. The problem I'm having is that even though I place the ripped MP3's into a folder named as I want it to appear under artists, and then the subfolder named as I want the album to appear in the music player, once I go into the player on my Droid it just says "Unknown Artist" then "Unknown Album." I don't understand why it's doing this, because I have the folder named the way I want them to appear and it's not working, yet other music I downloaded in my music folder is correctly showing up on the player. To better illustrate what I mean: In my music folder on the SD card, I just added a folder "CD1" with the album "Album1" inside that, with the tracks inside that. INstead of on the player it being displayed as "CD1" under artist" and then "album 1" under the album drop down, it just says "Unknown Artist" and then "Unknown Album," but the tracks are there.

I bought this song legaly over Amazon mp3 so the ID3 Tags are correct.
Whenever I boot my SGS2, PlayerPro Automatically starts (shows up in the notification bar, but doesn't play any music.), it states that it's playing a blank song (no name) by an unknown artist/album. I've cleared PP's data & cache, rebooted, done everything I can think if. How can I prevent this? GT-I9100

I deleted the winamp database but the artwork is still there.
I have also used the stock HTC app to get album art (from gracenote again) and can't get rid of that artwork
why after getting the artwork it shows on other music apps but not others?
Do different apps look in different data bases?
After the update, all my music became unknown artist. And also, swype is not working.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my Galaxy S to replace my Rockboxed Cowon X5L. It has 30GB of storage, my Galaxy S has 48GB of storage. It's going to hold around 250 albums. I don't have single tracks, I just have albums, and typically I'll play an entire album rather than a single track. I've tried several music playing apps on Android and they're all awful. Not a single one of them is even halfway competent. I want to be able to go into a music player, and browse through folders and select music to play that way. I want to be able to go into a folder and start playing a track and for the music player to continue playing all the tracks in that folder and then stop. I want next/previous track to go to the next/previous track in the folder. The default music player is rotten, and does not work in this way at all. Any other music player I've seen seems to be built on top of the music player or just a reskin of it. They're all shite too. Has anyone created a music playing app that is fit for purpose? Has anyone seen one?

It seems like when I use voice dialer, I say "Call Home" and a list of options pops up of who to call (one choice being Home) (When I wish it would have just automatically called Home), but if I use voice search it automatically does call Home.

I purchased a Nexus One a couple of months ago and I am happy to say I feel like I made the right decision. The music player I wasn't to impressed with though so I downloaded Mixzing. I love the app, it works great and is very smooth. But I was wondering how can I get album artwork into this app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis forum and the community has supplied my answers for Missing Album art, I use 'Album Art Grabber' from Market which is good (except compilations find the artist covers instead, but SD card loading is fine bypass) My problem is that my music, once moved to my HTC Desire phone splits into one track per Album (with Cover art =). So a 34 track album, aok in iTunes now lists as 34 Albums with 1 track each.In iTunes its fine. I use DoubleTwist (another fantastic application) to move the music over.Any body else bumped into this problem?
