I tried to install Swype. It installed no problem, and I can select it as an input method. All is good, untill I try to swype a word. I get the little "swype mark" blue streak deal, and it makes the noise, but no word appears in the text box area. I've tried it on the internet, handcent, and normal messages.

I've got my phone up and running with sense-able 2.0 but for some reason swype is not working correctly. It never seems to make the line all the way to the letter I'm trying to type. Its like this for every letter. Its especially missing the last letter it usually ends up a couple letters away from where I end up. I was using it just fine when I wasn't rooted and on 1.5 but now its giving me problems. I've even tried playing with the settings and it doesn't seem to help. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I guess I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

The SYM button and the one to the left of it are blanked out - meaning they are just black boxes and clicking/pressing them does nothing. She has had to switch to the default keyboard and she hates it.Any idea what is going on and how to fix this?

It's like it is not recogizing that it's connected. I had this problem with my blackberry a few times, and it ruined it. I had to submit an insurance claim because it couldn't be repaired easily.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and have been using swype for over a week now. Last night I switched back to the standard keyboard for something and then tried to switch back to swype. Now it doesn't work. When I go to the keyboard, it's just still the standard keyboard. Any thoughts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWith the new version, every 2-3 days my Swype keyboard stops working. I can type normally (pushing individual letters), but swyping doesn't work.
If I re-install, it will work again, but only for a few days. I always install after killing tasks/widgets like it says, but hasn't helped the longer-term problem.
I had wireless tether working before going to 2.2. Now it appears to be working on the phone, but on the computer it shows "Local Only". I tried uninstalling, rebooting then reinstalling... no luck with that.
Also, I am part of the Swype Beta. I had Swype resend the email when I updated to 2.2 and reinstalled. It works until I reboot my phone, then it goes into "tap only" mode. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I currently have swype and I love it, but it only works in portrait mode.. if I turn my phone landscape for anything, I always get the error "not supported in this resolution." All I want is a version that is supported so I don't get this error.
View 20 Replies View Relatedso i tried out k-9 mail last night and i gotta say i like some of the features but the overall look just doesn't look as nice as the stock, and the stock works just fine for me so i decided to delete it. before my emails seemed to be pushed to my phone right as they came. now they never push to my phone i have to hit refresh in order to get my emails. i didn't change any settings.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI got my droid eris last Feb. 2010. I was always able to retrieve my POP yahoo mail, but it never worked like it should. Then one day a couple of weeks ago, it started working correctly, meaning I would hear a notification sound, the phone would vibrate and there would be a green number on the mail icon on my home page. I don't know what setting I changed, but it was working. Then I decided to get a Mail Plus yahoo account so I could store all my emails in my Mail program on my Mac. I set up it up and all was working.
Then the 2.1 software update came through last week. Mail was not working correctly, so I reset up the yahoo account. The phone did it automatically and I noticed now it's using an IMAP and android.imap.mail.yahoo.com server address. I could retrieve my email OK, but again, it did not work as I expected. Now, in the last 2 days, it is deleting mail from my server when I delete the mail from my phone. There WAS a setting that said Never Delete from Server in the Send/Receive setting area, BUT NOW THAT IS GONE!
Whenever i go into my messages(texts), it loads up fine. But when I go to open any conversations It takes atleast 30 seconds before anything happens. I've tried deleting messages, but that did nothing. Literally nothing. Like no messages deleted. Also, my Micro USB port is being a little haywire. To get it to charge or connect to my computer, I have to hold down the cable, so that it's at an angle. This is the only way it'll charge. This just started happening last night. I've treated this thing very nice, and I haven't dropped it once. I'm thinking about taking it into a Sprint store to see what they can do. I just downloaded the update today, and the hardware version is 0002.
View 8 Replies View Related1) I cannot get some pages to close after viewing them on the browser. After clicking the X in the top right corner of the page the phone shows the message "stopping" but the page remains on the screen. Only way I can get the page off the screen is to reboot the phone.
2) I have the default screen on the home page. The two "white pages" show the time incorrectly; one hour ahead of actual time.
I am having problems getting Torrent Fu to work correctly on my Eris. I have done everything I can think of and need a new pair of ears to help me get past these problem. I have done everything (which I think I did correctly (according to the setup page)) and it is still not working. I have a port on my router open and even tested it and that is ok. However my Eris is not able to see it nor send a torrent to the uTorrent app on the computer.

The display remains stationary when I slowly rotate from North around 360deg.
When I move the phone vertically from the horizon upwards, the constellations change,as expected.
GPS is enabled and gives my correct location when Sky Map starts.

After a few days of effort, I managed to compile a half-working cwm:Can be flashed by odin1.85
Boots successfully
All keys work, including volume up/down and power
Adb works, I can now mount /system and root my device
Something wrong with display, screen blurred and messed when boot into cwm

I guess it has something to do with MSC partition not mounted, but not sure.
I just rooted my droid to Liquid froyo 1.6. Everything is smooth except for SetCPU, it doesn't want to do anything for me. I made a widget, and whenever I try to change my speed, overclock or underclock it force closes, it won't let me do anything.

For some reason downloads from the market has stopped working... I haven't been able to download anything from the market in the last hour... The download just sits at 'Starting Download' but never starts... I heard that you have to hack/root your phone to download market apps if you're using a European or Telus Hero in the states but when i first got the phone I was downloading apps just fine so I figured that was false... any idea how to go about finding out what's wrong? View 10 Replies View RelatedI've recently started working with the SoundPool class in SDK 1.1R1, and noticed that my app deadlocks from time to time, or sounds are not loaded. I remember reading, back in November, that this was to be addressed in the next SDK. I've used pretty much the same code that others have used and most of the time it works for a bit. Just a minute ago, the app completely crashed with no "Force Close" and returned to the home screen. Logcat reveals that "HeapWorker is wedged: 26577ms spent inside Landroid/media/SoundPool;.finalize()V" I'm not sure if this is the same issue others had with SoundPool or if I have encountered an entirely new beast.

However after I upgraded my droid phone to 2.2, I am finding that location services are not showing the correct location. Though the coordinates looks correct, it is showing my location as San Jose while I stay in Los Gatos. Therefore my local search query gives me result based on San Jose.

About a 3-4 days ago it started deleting previous sentences or phrases and only leaving the most recent phrase you spoke minus the last word. Long delays as well. As mentioned, it is affecting multiple phones based on other comments throughout internet. Very frustrating!
Initially I thought it was related to the recent Maps update, but rolled back to older version and no change. Not sure about the recent change for Google Voice to Hangouts, but that seems like a possibility . .
I have a Samsung Galaxy Centura and I'm using Go SMS Pro and SwiftKey.
Starting today, when I try to text using the voice to text feature, every time I start a new sentence, the previous sentence disappears. This has never happened to me before. I tried repeatedly, to the point I was cursing, and now it is also blocking out offensive words also. I went to Language and Input > Google Voice Typing and made sure Block offensive words is not checked.
Whenever I use multitouch, as soon as my fingers get close to the same axis, they seem to snap onto the same axis. Is this normal, as it makes playing some games and emulators rather fiddly. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk

Also when i press the back button all it does is close the app rather then going back. Which is what the middle button should be doing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on the search button (magnifying glass), type in the name of a person I am looking for in my contacts, I come up with a list of people who match what I have typed. On my droid, I could then click on any of the results to bring up that persons contact information. On this phone, it flashes the contact information for about a 10th of a second then goes back to my search results. I can get the contact information by clicking on the icon for that person, then selecting the contacts icon that comes up below. Is this something that is going on with my phone only or are others having this issue also.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI manually updated the phone with the file that was posted here as the leaked update. The process was easy and pretty much headache free. I used the trial version of MyBackup app and it did what its supposed to do. However I am facing some problems and have some questions also.
1. It seems that my display is not working correctly now. Maybe it is just me, but i can tell that that the backlight is not as responsive as it should be. It doesnt go to the set brightness level as fast and smooth as it was.
2. I let MyBackup restore the apps also and it was a mistake in my opinion. It erased the apps in "My downloads". Now not only can't I find a certain app (USA Today seems to disappear...and no, not the USA Today widget one. that one sucks. Anyone knows what happened to it?) I also dont know how to uninstall an app if it is not in my downloads. I suppose in manage applications? Correct me if I am wrong.
3. For me YouTube app started working better, but still says it cant play video in High Quality mode.
4. Anyone using something different from the People app?
5. Could not find a post about how to erase the vocabulary you added. I spelled something wrong and need to get rid of it.
6. The email is set to update once i day..still i get the notification as soon as I receive one. Help?
Overall, there is a little speed improvement. I didnt notice any drastic improvement, but its just quicker a bit. However, Id rather have my display back to working the way its supposed to be. I can wait until the OTA officially comes out.
