View 12 Replies View RelatedI am one of those crazy types with 2000+ Facebook friends for games and such. When I get my DInc. (hopefully this week or early next week.) and do the contact merger thing, Do I have to merge in all of my Facebook friends? Or can I just pick a filter like Family and Close Friends only? This would bring the total merged contacts down to a much more manageable 100+ or so. Really do not want 2000 people on my phone, that would be a mess! If there is no option other than all or none, I may have to start a new facebook account just to limit the chaos.

I've tried to put my old Sim in but it doesn't come up with anything in the contacts list.
i've been looking for an application for merging the SIM contacts with the GMail contacts but can't seem to find any. Does anyone know if such an application is available? The result now is that i have a huge list of contacts (GMail + SIM) with many duplicates and information spread around different entries. Remark: i'm not sure if this question belongs here, but i had to choose between the G1 T-mobile and this forum.

How can i merge this contacts? I also saw that my GMail Contacts has a group called 'Starred in Android' but it is empty... I also starred some numbers in my Magic, but only Phone-contacts.

Is there a way to merge facebook and google contacts? I have quite a few numbers that I had entered before I added them on facebook, so now I have a bunch of duplicate entries. One for facebook and one with the info that I put in. I seem to remember there being a way to do this on 2.1, but I can't find it in 2.2 (KaosFroyo). I click on FB name and it says "link contact" but it only lets me Link it to other FB contacts! It doesn't let me link them to phone entries I already have stored on my phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo we just upgraded to the Verizon-branded Galaxy S3 and imported all contacts to my wife's phone (she had a Sprint Treo 755p). We then sync'd her Google contacts to the phone. This resulted with her having many duplicates between the PHONE and GOOGLE.
I haven't found enough information on the "Merge with Google" option in the contacts menu.

had my Desire for a few weeks, amazing peice of kit for sure but one thing I have been unable to find is an App like Nokia Pc suite that will allow me to look at my txt inbox and send txt msgs from my laptop when connected to the phone. As I am at work for 12 hours at a time it would be very handy to have the phone connected to the laptop so I can type txts on the laptop whilst I am working rather than having to divert my attention and look at the phone.

I have a Nokia ck-7w handsfree kit in my car, i can pair my desire with it and all seems ok until i try to make or receive a call. The Nokia unit mutes the radio but I can hear no sound at all, no ring tone or dial tones on outgoing calls and no voice on incoming calls.

I have a problem with the pairing of my Nokia 6300 phone and my new HTC Desire.
I paired the devices and ticked "Always Trust Device"
The HTC shows the devices as paired.
HOWEVER in order to transfer date from the Nokia to the HTC I always need to make the HTC discoverable before anything will happen.
This is particularly annoying since I 'm trying to transfer my photo collection and this has to be done photo by photo.
So my desire has a 'My Contact Card', and my contacts (gmail contacts synced to phone) also has my gmail contact with all my info. Is it possible to merge these? I cant find a way. Seems silly for the gmail personal contact to be on the phone and for the phone to hold a seperate one (used when i send texts etc?).
