HTC EVO 4G :: Charger Changes Screens On Phone

Charger changes screens on phone.
Am using Mini to Micro usb converter/adapter on motorola RAZR1 charger--plug charger's mini into the converter plug, then plug the micro end of the converter into the Evo.
When I plug this set up into the phone, the screen changes from the Home screen to a large icon screen with Footprints, Navigation, Voice Search etc. big icons. Have not seen this screen on this phone before.
Have tried two different mini/micro converter plugs on different Razr1 chargers with the same result.
Since the RAZR2 chargers are compatible with the Evo, I had assumed that the RAZR1 chargers would also be compatible, the only issue being the mini/micro interface. So I purchased for short money some converters so the I could use the multiple RAZR1 chargers I have.
Seems that the RAZR1 must have a substantially higher, or lower, output that is just not compatible with the Evo.
Does anyone have any info or experience regarding RAZR1 chargers with the Evo ? ...with this screen changing thing ?

Will virtually any mini-USB based cable, car charger, and wall charger work with my HTC Droid Eris? Mini-USB cables are generally universal, but I want to ensure that I use a compatible car charger and wall charger that won't damage my phone. The official Verizon accessories of course seem overpriced, if any generic solution would work equally well.

I had a little time with the captivate today and noticed it has 4(i think) horizontal scrolling screens for apps. What happens when you fill those? Does it automatically add another one or what?

I am using the OEM charger on my Dinc and nothing else. I randomly get a message something like, "The charger you are using is not compatible with your device. Remove the charger now to avoid damage to your phone". I have not used anything other than the OEM charger ever. It isn't loose or frayed or bent strangely. It also seems to charge even though the message pops up. For now, I'm using my computer's USB port to charge it but man, that's SLOOOOOOOOW. It has done it since I first got the phone and before I had even installed my first app. It also does it after a factory reset and reprogram. Customer service is sending an aftermarket wall charger free of charge until I can get an OEM unit as they are obviously out of stock.

Just this morning I plugged my phone into the wall charger and it froze up everything. Eventually the phone reboots, but after it finishes booting it freezes again and the whole process repeats indefinitely. If I charge it from a usb port it works fine. I searched around but haven't seen anyone else with this issue. Any insight or suggestions would be great. CM6.0 w/King's #2 kernel UPDATE EDIT: It's now doing it even if I use the usb port method. Getting pretty fed up with this thing, it had been working flawlessly with this romkernel combo for a week before this.

I need to get (as cheap as poss) A spare charger for work And A spare battery. I'm not sure where to look and what to go for without electrocuting myself or as tempting as it sounds burning my works building down.

my phone has a ? over the battery for some reason and will not charge when on charger..i have had the phone for a year and never had a problem..the battery would die a little fast but that is about it. now it has the ? on the battery symbol and only stays on when connected to charger...what is going on

My phone no longer shows that it's "charging", but it beeps if I unplug it and says to connect the charger. I'm not sure how to restart the phone (I think that might fix the problem) other than taking the battery out. Of course, I pulled the "Pull Me" tab, so it's going to be a pain to get the battery out. When I got home from work today my battery was down to 20%. I plugged the charger in then started messing around on youtube. An hour later my phone shuts off and wouldn't power back on. Red led was blinking for about five minutes then the phone powered itself back on. I checked osmonitor and it showed my battery at 0% and battery temp at 140f. Will the battery not charge if your using this phone or is my charger bad?

I work in an office and can listen to XM radio all day on the phone. Is it bad to keep it on the charger all day while I do this, to assure I have 100% battery life for when I exit the office?
Or is it better to let it dwindle down to 15% or so and then charge it while at work?

I recently picked up my EVO, and am loving it. Does anyone know if there are negative effects to leaving the phone on the charger? At work, I'm primarily in my office, and could leave the phone on the charger during the day and then it would always be full when I leave in the afternoon.

ok this is what is wrong with the phone. about 2 days ago my phone acted weird it shut off but after a while it came back on. Then yesterday it did the same thing but it never came back on. the phone was fully charged and as i went to reach for my phone to wake it up it didnt do anything. I have tried the power and volume for 2 mins nothing. I have had it on the charger but all it does it is hot but no light. I have never rooted this phone and dont know what is wrong with it. I only had this phone for 1yr and 3 months. All my contacts, recipies, photos, ect are on it i even tried to see if i can contact it to the manager nothing.

Just had an issue today with the phone after I got off of NYC Maximas.org and went back to the home screen. The phone decided to have a mind of its own and was actually switching between screens itself. Every time I hit the home button it would switch to screen 2 and three and so on and so on. Also when I tried to text right after that I was unable to input text for w.e. reason. After a shut off and turn on of the phone the issue was resolved; "weird". Anyone else having this problem?
