View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm totally new to Android and not overly technical. I've a problem I'm hoping someone can help with (if you can help please provide an idiots guide as I've trawled the net it's all way over my head with root this and that). In relation to my work I have the need to send and receive video files via bluetooth to my workmates handsets. Never had an issue in the past with Nokia "talking" to Blackberry etc (except I-phone which is a toy as far as I'm concerned) but my X10 will not receive. I keep receiving the same message on the handset "Sorry, the application settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently on Centennial wireless, which got bought out by at&t, I was stoked about getting a NEW 4g iPhone HD or whatever its going to be called, but now I see Verizon has this incredible looking incredible. I am going this week to verizon to do some hands on, and if its what I am seeing on youtube and reviews, I will likely order one while there and drop cent/at&a and join Verizon.SO, my question is, I currently have a nokia 5800. Does anyone know the easiest way to transfer my contacts and calendar over? I use the calendar A TON. LOTS AND LOTS. So there is no way I can manually transfer them. I have 400+ contacts, with some of those contacts having 6 numbers! I don't mind manually transferring from my pc the pics, music, etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just switched from a Nokia N95 to an HTC Desire on Android 2.1 (Froyo isn't out in the Middle East yet I guess). I'm having a lot of trouble getting my contacts on to the Desire. On setting up the phone, it has pulled my contacts from Gmail & Facebook, which I don't really need. I will not be calling or mailing most of the people on that list. There are a 1000+ contacts on those lists and I don't need all of them on my contact list. I tried to use the Nokia Ovi Suite to sync contacts, but for some reason I was not able to transfer them onto the PC. So I copied them all onto the SIM card and then put the SIM into the Desire and exported them to the phone memory.
The problem is that on copying them onto the SIM on the N95, I have multiple entries on the list. For contacts with more than 1 number under them, there are separate entries for each number, with the same name. Is there a method to group them the same way they were earlier i.e. One contact entry with a Home, Mobile, & Business number? Do let me know. It will hugely helpful. The only other way I can think of is to sit and enter all the numbers manually!
how can i transfer my contacts from my old sim (talkmobile). This sim seems blocked on t-moble HTC desire phone as i tried to insert into HTC desire and there is no network and menu to access the phone (say contact customer service), phone gets locked. 2nd way was via bluetooth transfer to PC. My current phone is nokia 6288, i transfered contacts to PC but I cant locate them (can access only via bluetooth menu in case i want to restore them to the same phone only)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just pre-ordered the EVO yesterday. Since this is at Radio Shack, I am assuming that they won't be able to transfer the contacts from me pre to the EVO. Is this correct? I decided to go ahead and fix all my contacts on gmail anyway just in case. This gives me something to do while waiting for my EVO.... Will the Evo import all my contacts when I log into my gmail account and set it as my main sync account? What I am doing is this:
1. I installed the 'contacts to email' patch using preware and exported all my contacts as a vcard file. This is probably a good idea anyway. I don't completely trust "cloud" storage.
2. I sent myself the email and then imported this vcard file into gmail contacts. This resulted in about 350 contacts in gmail. I'm now working through them doing edits and combining duplicates. Is this the best way to prepare my contacts for the EVO?
Car phone warehouse kindly transferred my phone numbers from my old sim card to my new Desire phone. I have now noticed that they all say that they are mobile numbers yet this is not the case. What if anything can I do to remedy the situation? Can I remove the 'M' tag from them?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an Evo 4g and it is my first android phone. I am trying to import all of my contacts to my gmail account without any success. My calendar has synced up fine but the contacts are not transferring over.
The contacts were transferred to my Evo from my old phone by a Best Buy rep at the time of my purchase if this matters...since I did not manually create them on my Evo.
Is there any way to get all of these contacts transferred over?

View 1 Replies View RelatedBasically topic. I know the simplest way to do it would have been to Google Sync my contacts into my Gmail from my BB then sync them to the EVO, but unfortunately, I can't do that now. The SIM in my BB is out thanks to my number transfer so no data, and I didn't have Google Sync installed.
I have a little over 200 contacts in my BB, and as I'm sure you understand putting all of them in manually is near insanity. Anyone in the same boat as me? Any solutions to this or is a long night of manual contact switching in my future?
All my contacts are saved to the Hero. I want them on the sim so that I can transfer them to another phone but cannot find how to. Any ideas please?
