HTC EVO 4G :: Incoming MMS Time Off By 4 Hours / Solution For This?

Jun 13, 2010

I've had the phone for a few days now, and today when I received an MMS (picturemail) from a friend, the timestamp was off by exactly 4 hours (I received at 8:32PM, but timestamp was 4:32PM), normally, not a big deal, but it throws off order in the messages because those it's my most recent message, it still shows in relation to messages I correctly received before 8:32PM but after 4:32PM. Anyone experience something similar, or have a solution?

Android :: Phone Mutes On Every Incoming Call / Solution For This?

Aug 25, 2010

My Acer Liquid E keeps Muting every time I answer a call. Its odd because its not disconnecting at all and I can hear the caller perfect. Sometime if I hit the mute, speaker phone, or hold buttons a view times it starts to work normal. All outgoing calls are perfect. Hopefully I can narrow it down to either a phone defect or a OS issue that just needs an update. Has anyone else had this issue?

HTC EVO 4G :: MMS Received Time Stamp 4 Hours In The Past SMS Correctly?

Sep 22, 2010

I am getting MMS (Pictures) from another Sprint user (both of us are on the east coast) who has a Touch Pro 2 running Windows 6.5 and every time I get an MMS message from him its back stamped 4 hours. So if he sends it at 8pm it gets time stamped at 4pm on my phone. When he sends me an SMS (text message) its is CORRECTLY time stamped at 8pm. This causes my threaded messaging to put his MMS all the way up in the thread. This is UNACCEPTABLE and either SPRINT or HTC should figure out what is going on with time stamps and there phone and software.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Daylight Savings Time By 2 Hours Instead Of 1

Nov 7, 2010

I live in the central time zone. This morning I woke up and my phone decided to adjust for daylight savings time by 2 hours instead of 1. I checked the time and date settings to find that the date settings were checked to "automatic". Somehow the phone decided I was in the Mountain time zone instead of central. why/how that would happen? If I uncheck the automatic, and manually change my time zone it works fine.

Android :: Elegant Solution To Retrieve Custom Date And Time?

May 27, 2010

I am currently using a date and time picker to retrieve a user-submitted date and time, and then I set a control's text to the date and time selected.

Now, while the above code block does bring up the date and time widgets and sets the text, the code block is being executed in full before the user can select the date.. ie: It brings up the date box first, then the time box over that, and then updates the text, all without any user interaction. I would like the date widget to wait to execute the time selector until the date selection is done, and i would like the settext to execute only after the time widget is done. How is this possible? Or is there is a more elegant solution that is escaping me?

Android :: App "Cannot Be Refunded At This Time" 20 Hours After Purchase

Sep 12, 2010

I bough the Doggcatcher app to try and get an itunes podcast to work, but it didn't. Today I realized I hadn't uninstalled it yet, so I went to the market to uninstall it. I bought it yesterday around 8:00pm. I tried refunding and uninstalling however I was told they were not able to refund me "At this time" and to try again later. I uninstalled it anyway and tried refunding it an hour later (now) and it says "Your purchase could not be refunded." I thought I had 24 hours, why can't I get a refund on it? It doesn't work for me and I have no use for it, however I have plenty of other use for the $7 I paid for it. Anyone know of a workaround? WHat happens if the 24 hour mark passes and it never allowed me to refund it?

Samsung Vibrant :: 4 Hours Of Use Or 48 Hours On Standby

Oct 4, 2010

Do those numbers seem normal to the rest of you? Right now if I am using my phone for browsing, video, etc. it will run the battery from full charge to dead in just under 4 hours. If I just leave the phone turned on but with no apps running (standby) it runs out of power in roughly 48 hours. Is this the battery life I should expect from this phone?

Android :: GetFromLocationName Always Throws IOException First Time - But Is Successful Second Time With Same Input

May 29, 2009

My calls to getFromLocationName() always fail the "first" time I start my app. I catch the IOException which has reason:

Unable to parse response from server

Then I make a second call and it succeeds. Once things are "awake" all future calls to getFromLocationName() succeed, it's just that first one, and there is a ton of latency.

I haven't run this on a device yet, just in the emulator. This seems like a network problem, but it is so reproducible I'm thinking I'm not initializing something properly. I'm using Android SDK 1.1.

HTC Magic :: When Receive A Text It Usually Tells The Time In Eastern Time Though I'm Pacific

Jun 7, 2009

I just got the magic yesterday and so far I'm loving it. Just have a couple questions about texting. When I receive a text it usually tells me the time in eastern time though I'm pacific. However, my sent messages come up with the right time. This makes it so that threaded sms is kind of useless. Everything is all out of whack. Also, every once in a while it just won't even give me a time and there has been once or twice(after fiddling with it for a bit) that it gave me the right time but it just went back to the wrong time right after. Could this be a problem with the phone or is it rogers' fault? I'm assuming it's getting the time from the network and they have it wrong(meaning I can't fix it) but I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem.

Also, is there any way to make it vibrate when I receive a text? I feel dumb for asking this as it seems like it should be something really obvious but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Jelly Bean :: Time Resets Itself And No Option To Manually Set Date And Time

Dec 30, 2013

I recently received an LG optimus f3 with android 4.1.2.

After activating the phone, it displayed the correct date and time for my time zone, so I didn't mess around with settings to reset the time, as I would with any other device.

However, I've noticed that the time changes to exactly an hour ahead, before changing itself back several minutes later.

I went to settings > date and time, but 24 hour time and selecting a date format are the only options listed.

I prefer to leave mobile data off when I am at home and can use the wi-fi. Is it necessary to have mobile data turned on, so the phone can receive the time from a cell tower, or is there a way I can set an internal clock?

HTC Desire :: Batterylife - 3 Hours

I have had a desire for about 6 months now on Orange UK. I downloaded a new update (2.17.61.2) on Friday and ever since the battery from 100% charge has lasted about 2-3 hours. I have finally worked out what is happening but I have no idea what to do about it.

When I try and put it to sleep using the power button only the screen is put to sleep but nothing else is put to sleep. So the battery usage says it has been running for 90% of the time it has been taken off charge.
