I've had my hero for a while now, and will be getting the Evo in July on my primary line, BUT I have noticed that the button pad for search, home, menu, back has gotten a lot looser as time has went by. It is a little distracting and I was just wondering if anybody else has noticed this.

Is anyone experiencing an unresponsive notification bar sometimes? When this happens, I end up opening the weather widget by accident. The only way to clear the notification is to open the corresponding program.
I am not sure what triggers it so I am guessing it happens randomly.
Is anyone else getting random lockups with CM6? Sometimes it locks up in the camera app, sometimes it locks up in a browser, and various other apps. The only remedy is a battery pull. I LOVE CM6 but these random lockups are getting on my nerves,... I'll track the lockups more closely to see if I can find a pattern or something.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have noticed on some threads that people were having issues with their widgets and Swype on the Cyanogen Froyo ROM. I was having this issue as well. Whenever I rebooted my phone I would have to make Swype my default keyboard again, and reinstall certain widgets. But I think I have found a solution. I noticed that Swype and some of these widgets had been stored on the SD card instead of on the phone. So I went into my settings and into application management and moved them over to the phone. That seemed to solve the issue. Give it a try and see if that fixes your problem, if you were having it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs anyone having issues with HTC Sync and the phone not being able to find it on the computer? I've used it before, but today it doesn't want to find it on my computer. I uninstalled sync from the computer, and reinstalled it, even tried a hard reset on my phone, still no go.
Any ideas? Or am I just an idiot and doing something wrong?
I want to keep the Hero in my back pocket, replacing another phone. I carry another larger (no jokes) device in my front pocket.
The screen can turned on and unlocked (not pattern lock) by pressing the "menu" key twice. Or, "End/Power" and then "menu". In my back pocket, my @$$ apparently pushes on these buttons randomly and sometimes turn on the device.
I do not wish to use pattern lock, it's too many steps. I am used to S2U2 on WM and it's fast.
Are there any applications that can modify the behavior of the buttons or the turn on characteristic of Hero? It would be nice to disable the menu key from unlocking the screen.
No luck on search. What's the difference in Awake Time and Up Time?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had the phone for a few days now, and today when I received an MMS (picturemail) from a friend, the timestamp was off by exactly 4 hours (I received at 8:32PM, but timestamp was 4:32PM), normally, not a big deal, but it throws off order in the messages because those it's my most recent message, it still shows in relation to messages I correctly received before 8:32PM but after 4:32PM. Anyone experience something similar, or have a solution?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am currently using a date and time picker to retrieve a user-submitted date and time, and then I set a control's text to the date and time selected.
Now, while the above code block does bring up the date and time widgets and sets the text, the code block is being executed in full before the user can select the date.. ie: It brings up the date box first, then the time box over that, and then updates the text, all without any user interaction. I would like the date widget to wait to execute the time selector until the date selection is done, and i would like the settext to execute only after the time widget is done. How is this possible? Or is there is a more elegant solution that is escaping me?
Just out of curiosity, how long has your phone been powered on before you rebooted it?I just rebooted mine because I was having an issue getting wifi to turn on. had to cycle it - wifi on, then off, then on again and ah yeah, there it is oh yeah, I was at 338 hours of uptime.

Since then, my phones awake time has been at 100 %, and I don't know exactly what is causing it. The Battery Use shows nothing out of the ordinary, Cell Standby, Wifi, Display, and Phone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI set my screen to auto backlight, and to time out after 15 seconds, just to test this out.
Well when I'm not in a call, it dims and brightens accordingly. It also times out and shuts the screen off after 15 seconds like I selected.
When I am IN CALL, the screen does not dim and does not time out until about a minute or more into the call, it doesn't seem to be consistent. I've rebooted, and all that, nothing has worked.
I'm thinking of trying a factory reset but I don't really WANT to, I like the apps I have and such.
I've had a few 'time out' apps, like call caddy, power manager, etc. None of them worked the way I wanted them to (call caddy is supposed to lock the screen upon answering a call, and power manager is supposed to llow you to control timeout while in call) and I have been thinking maybe it somehow messed with my phone ability to regulate the screen time out?
As for my second question. How do I save all of my info on the phone, is there an app for that? I think sprint automatically syncs my contacts (I used to get notified but I somehow turned them off). Where/how would I re-download them? From the sprint website?
My awake time is always 100%! even when the phone is dimmed and stuff.

Best I can ever get is around 45% I think I have tried most of the suggestions on the board to lower it as much as I can. Is there some super secret pro-tip that you 15% people have figured out?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know this has been mentioned a hundred times...but...anyone else seeing the keyboard getting looser and looser? even when the phone is closed the top screen part seems to wiggle up and down and seems to be getting a bit looser then when I first had it...If you gently try to lift the top screen upwards away from the keyboard (while in closed position, the top screen moves away from the keyboard for me by about a 1/16th of an inch.
I know it sounds paranoid and I may just be being OCD, but is anyone else having this problem?
And before you say it I know slider keyboards often have this problem. I've had sliders before...I just don't recall if any of them got this loose this quick

I am rooted, I have tried the new fresh and older versions, they slow my phone done, and it freezes all the time. I am on a rooted/stock version on 2.1 and would like to use live wall papers still? Do I have a chance? I don't want to just flash one of the lwp updates from the rom section without asking here.

Until today I had only known to remove and install apps one by one. A developer just brought my attention to the app Spare Parts. Download Spare Parts from market, open it,>Battery History>drop down menu default is CPU Usage, select and change to partial wake Usage. This will show which apps are keeping phone from sleeping.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm in the process of re-installing my apps, trying to find a culprit that might be keeping my phone awake - and was wondering if anyone else thinks they've found some guilty parties. So far the only app I've installed is the HTC Battery widget. Everything else is stock from the 2.1 leak. I'll probably put the official rom on there eventually (especially if I still can't fix the awake problem), but since it doesn't seem to be any different, I'm not in a hurry. Now, my phone seems to be going right to sleep when I press the end button. My awake time is a fraction of the up time.I just started using the Seido extended life battery (1750 I think), and I've put the phone through some heavy use - a one hour phone call using bluetooth, several other shorter calls, some instant messaging, lots of texts, some internet use and camera use. And I've not charged it since leaving the house. So far, I'm at 57% - which far exceeds anything I've experienced before 2.1, and before the extended battery. Right now I'm looking at all-day use with the phone - which is ideal.My issue is that I want to prevent the phone from staying awake again. 100% awake time always seems to cut my battery life in half, if not more. There doesn't seem to be a clean way for me to do this. Even after I uninstall all of my applications, the problem doesn't seem to correct itself until I restore the phone to factory settings. For this reason - it's hard to pin down which application (or setting) might be the culprit.

View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday I had a missed called. I wanted to check at what time this person had called me. When I clicked on the phone icon that's at the bottom of the screen it opens all my call history (incoming, outgoing and missed calls).
But it doesn't not list anytime stamp for any type of call. I click on the menu button and click on call history. I click on the menu button again and click on the View option. Then I select Missed calls. The time stamps just show the day. For example some of them say 3 days ago or Yesterday but no time.
The only way i'm able to see the actual time of the missed call is if I open that person contact card and view the history from there.
Is there a way I can get this information with out having to open up the contacts?
I saw somewhere in a thread a widget someone had that was 1x4 and it was pretty sweet looking..had bluetooth, gps, wifi and something else..i tried searching for it in the Market but i cant find it..
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a Hero the other day, and so for I love it. The only thing I am having a problem with is the button pad. It is creaky, like if I press the menu button, and then press a button the the opposite side, say the back button, it creaks a tiny bit, like plastic on plastic. Sometimes it even clicks a little bit. Anyone elses like this? It doesnt really affect the operation as much as its an annoyance.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI posted a thread about my battery life earlier this week, and I thank all the for the help! Here is another issue I am having that may be related. My phone takes forever to charge. Example: used my phone heavily this morning from 5:30 am till around 9am. Came home, battery was down to 15% or so. Plugged it into the AC charger around 10am, went outside and mowed the yard, etc. Finally checked the phone around 4pm, and it was still charging. Battery was showing 90% or so. Shouldn't it fully charge in around 2 hours or less? I did some research and found some people having charging issues after they upgraded to 2.1, which I did right after I got the phone. I did check with my local RS where I got the phone, and the guy I spoke with has a Hero, and his does not do this. He suggested I go to a Sprint store and have them look at it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy clock widgets have all shown the correct time and place since I received my Hero. On Saturday, all of a sudden the clock is off by 5 hours but showing the correct location. I restarted my phone and the correct time would show up, but as soon as the phone sleeps and I wake it up, the clock is off by 5 hours again!!! I checked the settings for the clock and it is set to the network time and gps for current location. I had to download a clock widget off the market because I could not figure it out. Anyone?
