View 49 RepliesAnxious to see when people start getting this update.
View 49 RepliesHas anyone had this happen to them: not always, but very often, if I quickly reply to a text message, my reply jumps up a place in the thread and appears before the last message, i.e. like this:
(instead of)
Sender: Where are you?
Me: I'm at work.
(it appears as)
Me: I'm at work.
Sender: Where are you?
I've noticed it almost exclusively happens if I reply within the same minute on the clock. If I receive a text at 10:50 and reply at 10:51, it doesn't happen. But if I promptly replied while time was still 10:50 almost certainly my message will jump up the thread and not be the last.
Being that its now 12:01 A.M. here I went to Menu->about phone->System Updates and checked for updates.. Its currently pulling down an update as we speak! It looks like our update has finally arrived! I am non-rooted so Im not sure how you root users are doing!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been somewhat lax with my updates on my hero, and have only recently been made aware of the 2.1 android update. i only updated my build number to 2.73.110.91 yesterday, which i had to reinstall the 2.73.110.26 to do so. im under the impression that i should of received a prompt to update to 2.1 over the air? which has not happened. i have tried to /menu/settings/sytem software update, but im told there is no update available.. i have also attempted the 'move the clock forward' trick, but to no avail. have i missed another required update somewhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter a few posts about the Droid 2 getting an OTA update from Verizon to fix the syncing problem, I've not heard anyone talking about getting it yet. It changes your version from VZW to FRG22D. Motorola said it's in Verizons hands now, and the CSR at the VZW store said it's being pushed out. But to where? If you have received it on the D2, did it fix the corporate sync issue?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI very unexpectedly received an OTA update today. Currently running 2.1 Leak V3 and was under the assumption from reading posts here that I wasn't supposed to receive anything OTA at all.guess not.I don't want to lose/delay potential root capability and knowing Verizon, there's an HBOOT update in there.Can anyone shed some light?
View 49 Replies View RelatedI still haven't received the update. I'm in the greater Los Angeles, CA area. I also bought the phone when it first came out but that shouldn't matter. Anyone else not receive it yet?
One thing I'm speculating is 'Background Data.' Do I need to leave that on to receive the update? I leave it off and only turn it on when I'm browsing the Market. All I need to leave on is '3G Mobile Network' right? I don't leave it on 24/7 so maybe I was supposed to receive it OTA but my 3G was off.
It's really bugging me that all the people I know that own a crappy Eris already received the update and I'm still sitting here with an expired 1.5 cupcake...
It's been over two weeks since the update started rolling out. How long does it take?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen you go to Settings -> About phone -> System updates, what message are you getting?
Previously (a couple days ago), I was getting a message along the line of "Your device is up to date".
Now, I'm getting this message everytime: "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later."
This morning I had a system update waiting for my on my G1.... It took quite some time to download just like the last update (Cupcake).. now I am having problems loading my phone.
I have the aHome application installed and I use that as my primary operating system (if you can call it that).
Now when my phone restarted after the update downloaded, it keeps giving me errors such as:
"The application aHome (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
The application Messaging (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
These errors repeatedly pop up and will not let any of my desktop load up or will it let me get into the system settings menu.
What should I do?! I've spent too much time customizing my phone for this friggin' update to just come along and destroy it all...
I don't know if I just check for updates too often or the auto update doesn't work. I check so often and update it manually that I never give a chance to auto update. Has anyone received an auto update?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf you live in the Eastern time zone, please participate in this poll and indicate whether you have received the D118 update yet OTA (over the air). If you downloaded and installed the update yourself, please do not participate in this poll. This poll is designed to determine the penetration in the Eastern part of the United States. If you indicate NO and leter get the update, please come back and change your response (hopefully vBullitain supports that).
View 10 Replies View RelatedIf you have received the 2.1 OTA from Verizon, can you tell us your baseband version, kernel, build #, and software #.
Just to compare those to the 2.1v3 leak to see if they're the same.
Has anyone noticed the following after the update?YouTube has a new stock home page widget which shows most popular videos ( that seems to mean that it is constantly checking now)The screen brightness is darker. I always have the screen set as low as it can go (I use quick settings) but now it appears darker then before.
View 49 Replies View RelatedWe need to keep it down to one or two threads, it's kinda getting out of hand in here For those searching for info, and especially for newbies or non techies it can really confuse.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIm working on a small application to try out an idea that I have. The idea is to periodically update the UI when event of some sort occurs. In the demo I've created, I'm updating a ProgressDialog every 2 seconds for 15 turns. The problem I am having, which I don't quite understand is that when an event is handled, I send a message to the handler which is supposed to update the message in the ProgressDialog. When this happens however, I get an exception which states that I can't update the UI from that thread.Am I missing something? The logic makes sense to me and it looks like everything should work, I'm using a handler to update the UI like it is recommended.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've posted this in a couple of places without any help so hopefully this group has some helpful people :) I have an AutoCompleteTextView which I want to populate with artist names based on what the user types.The problem is that I have a thread for retrieving the names from a web service, but when I try and update the ArrayAdapter with a Handler on the UI thread (which is called from the web service thread), nothing gets updated on screen. When I type another letter though, then the previous results from web service are displayed in the autocompletetextview rather than the latest.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor those of you who were unlucky enough to attempt an SBF Flash on your OTA 2.2, You would have found youself bricked and awaiting an Updated leaked 2.2 SBF.I'll be bringing news here as it comes in. As soon as it hits anywhere,
View 49 Replies View RelatedI am seeing some weird issues and looking to see if anyone knows what is going on. I have a BroadcastReceiver which updates some views on receiving an event. Some psudo code is shown below. What happens is the function runs fine and the app seems to update the textviews BUT when i then try to clear the textviews parent and add new textviews the linearlayout(parent) blanks out and will now draw any of it's children.

View 49 Replies View RelatedGot the ota at about 5 am this morning, but it froze and didn't work. So when I restarted it said no update available. Wonder if there's something wrong with me phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to learn AsyncTask and Thread but Thread first. I am trying to display a Dialog before "DoSomeTask()" but seems like the Dialog always come after DoSomeTask(). Did I do something wrong here?
--- code---
@Override public void onClick(View v) {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub mainProcessing();
DoSomeTask(); } private void mainProcessing() {
Thread thread = new Thread(null, doBackgroundThreadProcessing, "Background");
thread.start(); }
private Runnable doBackgroundThreadProcessing = new Runnable() {
public void run() { backgroundThreadProcessing();
} };
private void backgroundThreadProcessing() {
handler.post(doUpdateGUI);
} private Runnable doUpdateGUI = new Runnable() {
public void run() { updateGUI();
} };
private void updateGUI() {
final ProgressDialog dialog = new ProgressDialog(CloseVault.this);
dialog.setMessage("Please wait...");
dialog.show();
}
So I thought to help the madness on the others threads that we could make one with all of the pros and cons we have seen in the new official update to help people see what they should do as far as force it or root and etc.Flash is not included so you have to find it in dumb ways and it is not in the market.No more vibrate and silent modes being separate.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI try to make several connection in a class and update the multiple progressbar in the main screen. Curious to know the reason behind not allowing updating UI elements from background thread in Android. Will main thread does something more (probably interacting with framework) after updating the UI elements so that changes can be seen on the screen? Is it the same case with other GUI tool kits?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like that my GUI appears immediatly when the User starts the APP. Than some Data (text, Pictures) come loaded in the Background (like Youtube APP) The Listview and Gallery comes updated automaticly with this new Data.
I initiate my Listview, start a Thread and load the Data....and than the Listview does not come updated!!
Several People write I should use notifyDataSetChanged(). But I can not place this Command in my Thread (just unknown).
My purpose is very simple : each 1second, I want to redraw an object on different place on background. I do not know where my error on this code below. Here is my code:

@Override public void onDraw(Canvas canvas) {
canvas.drawBitmap(mBackground_img,0 ,0 , null);
mMoveObject.setBounds(Dx, Dy, Dx+mObjectw, Dy+mObjecth);
mMoveObject.draw(canvas);
} }
